Those Who Crave Prophecy

Having acquired a new wand, Sean became very playful and experimented with various spells in the Room of Requirement, not stopping until midnight.

After thoroughly testing it, Sean was very satisfied with his new wand. Thanks to the double core, almost all spells were enhanced in power, and it was also easier to control.

The only flaw? Maybe not even a flaw.

That is, possibly due to the oak wand blank, when Sean uses Dark Arts spells that require a lot of negative emotions, the wand will show emotions similar to a human's "unwillingness". However, when Sean fully amplifies the negative emotions, the wand seems to fall into a state of depravity and suddenly bursts out with powerful energy.

Overall, however, it is still a very powerful wand. Sean estimated that, apart from wands with special core sources, this wand is probably one of the best of all wands.

In addition, Sean left a small hole in the handle as a preparation for embedding other magical materials in the future.

Of course, he certainly wouldn't dare to embed it rashly now, otherwise it would be a huge loss if the newly made powerful wand exploded.

This feels a lot like upgrading weapons in a game. Seria, you're utterly wicked...

After fiddling with his new wand, Sean left the Room of Requirement with light steps. It was getting late, and he needed to hurry back to sleep.

Sean, who was about to go downstairs, glanced casually to the side and noticed that light was coming from a room through a crack in the door.

That was the Divination Classroom, also located on the Seventh Floor.

Are there still people in the Divination Classroom at this hour? Sean frowned in confusion.

Professor Trelawney's Prophecy course had essentially become a subject Sean had given up on. He had no talent for Divination, and Sean believed that such talent could only be acquired innately or inherited from one's ancestors; it was almost impossible to learn it later in life.

In addition, he and Hermione have now become almost uninvited guests in Trelawney's class. After being confronted by Hermione in the first class, the professor has been Prophecy about their deaths from time to time.

Anyway, Sean doesn't remember how many terrible things he was going to encounter, and Hermione is about the same.

However, the fact that the Divination Classroom was still lit up at this time made Sean a little suspicious. He hesitated for a moment, cast a spell on himself, and then quietly and slowly approached.

Upon entering, one could faintly hear conversations coming from inside the classroom.

"Professor, I can't believe it... the Prophecy you made for me last time..." A girl's voice came out excitedly.

"Shh, Lavender, now that the Prophecy is over and the future is a reality, what we should do is not keep bringing up that magical Prophecy, but rather—hiccup, we should forget the past that has become a reality and look to the future—even though the future is so unpredictable." Trelawney's distinctive soft, indistinct voice slipped through the crack in the door into Sean's ears.

Sean frowned. Lavender Brown was still looking for her most admired Divination professor at this hour... This was a bit too much...

Lavender Brown, a fourth-year Gryffindor student, is a slightly neurotic but quite enthusiastic girl. In her Divination, there were students like Sean, Hermione, and Harry who completely disbelieved Professor Trelawney, as well as those who were utterly won over by Professor Trelawney.

The majority of those present were girls, and Lavender Brown was completely captivated by Trelawney's accurate Prophecy of her pet rabbit's death date— Professor Trelawney told Lavender Brown that her worst fear would come true on October 16th, and when Lavender received news of her rabbit's death, she immediately recalled this Prophecy. She wouldn't listen to any of Hermione's logic or insights (Lavender wasn't actually afraid of the rabbit's death, as it was still very young; the rabbit didn't die on the 16th, but the day before).

Lavender seemed to believe only that her grief had been correctly Prophecy, and then she filled in all sorts of things in her mind. She and Parvati Patil, one of the Patil Twins, became staunch supporters of Professor Trelawney.

Even when the coursework was very demanding, the two would still find time to try and build a relationship with Professor Trelawney.

However, it seems that Lavender Brown is the only one here today, and it's already past midnight...

Sean had no interest in reminding the lady upstairs that she should go to bed early. He shook his head and prepared to leave.

"Professor," Lavender lowered his voice, but there was anticipation and an inexplicable seduction in it, "I've heard that you possess Cassandra Trelawney's Second Sight?"

"Yes, yes..." Trelawney's voice, tinged with pride, said, "I am, after all, her great-great-granddaughter, and you know, these things often skip generations, hiccup—no, skip three generations."

"Professor, I mean no offense, but I've heard that the Trelawney Family can make even greater and more accurate Prophecy when they have Second Sight?"

"Oh—yes, yes," Trelawney's voice sounded less confident. "This secret is known to very few, and as a Seer, I wouldn't willingly reveal it, ha, reveal my true talent. Oh, child, please don't misunderstand, in everyday life, we don't need to use so much Prophecy power—"

"Professor, have you Prophecy recently? This kind of Prophecy, an even greater one—" Lavender coaxed.

The sound of glasses and bottles clinking came from inside the classroom, and Trelawney seemed to have poured herself another glass of wine and then gulped it down.

"Ha— Lavender, I understand your desire to explore the unknown, but, but, these kinds of Prophecy often foreshadow terrible things to come. I'm afraid that if you find out, it will seriously affect your life. That's not good, not good..."

"Professor, I'm just very curious, and I'm also very scared... You know, so many things have happened before, and even, for a year, he ran away from me..." Lavender's voice sounded worried and scared.

"Oh, oh, I understand, child. Mortals are terrified of the unknown, but those truly destined for Divination, like you, are curious and eager to get closer. As for those, the dull-witted—" Professor Trelawney slammed down her glass, the clinking of the glass against the wooden table sounding somewhat jarring in the quiet corridor, "Like that Granger, and that Wallerup ..."

Sean, who hadn't gone far, shrugged. It seemed that he and Hermione were hopelessly stupid and arrogant in Professor Trelawney's eyes.

Lavender Sean next; it seemed to be a whispered request to Professor Trelawney.

Trelawney screamed hysterically, "Kid, give up your idea! It's dangerous!"

As Sean reached the corner, he saw Professor Trelawney, staggering, push open the door to the Divination Classroom. Her face was flushed, but she was not completely drunk.

"For someone like me who can actually see the future, this is also a burden—" she rambled on incoherently, seemingly explaining to Lavender Brown in the classroom.

"But for you, this is a very dangerous and terrible thing to do. Oh, my child, you need to learn more, you need to see through more of the fog, but this is not something you should be thinking about right now."

Lavender's voice suddenly became calm, with a strange feeling in it.

Sean, who hadn't intended to get involved, stopped in his tracks, his brows furrowing instantly.

There are magical fluctuations...

"Professor, that's why I've come to you for help—you are the great-great-granddaughter of Cassandra Trelawney, a true master of Prophecy, and I just hope you can make a real Prophecy for me—" Lavender's voice sounded ethereal and seductive.

Trelawney, holding a bottle in one hand and leaning against the doorframe with the other, shook her head. "My child, I've made many of the Prophecy you wanted before, but this, but this..."

"Why not? Professor, this concerns me, you, and everyone else..." Lavender was in the classroom. Sean couldn't see her face, but he could feel the faint magical fluctuations emanating from her.

Did Lavender enchant his voice? Or did he use some kind of bewitching potion mixed with Veela hair and Demiguise blood?

Professor Trelawney seemed a bit off. She didn't usually have any Prophecy abilities, but she liked to speak in a vague and ambiguous way to fool the girls who admired her.

Normally, she would have made up a plausible lie, instead of rejecting him like this...

However, people who drink too much lose their usual pretense. With the bottle almost empty, Professor Trelawney's appearance was somewhat understandable.

But Lavender clearly used methods beyond language; what kind of Prophecy did she want to get from Trelawney?

Trelawney leaned against the doorframe, her resistance weakening until her gaze began to dart away.

"No, no, no..." Her lips moved.

Sean's pupils contracted.

Professor Trelawney's appearance is very similar to that of someone described in the original work, someone who can make real Prophecy!

He stopped in his tracks, hesitating whether or not to go over and take a look.

Logically speaking, this was Trelawney and Lavender's private matter, and Lavender was indeed the kind of person who would use some underhanded means to achieve his goals... Sean was not familiar with that magical fluctuation, but he did not sense any malice or negative emotions, so it should not be related to Dark Arts. It was probably some kind of bewitching magic.

But Sean felt something was off...

However, just as he hesitated, Lavender in the classroom suddenly spoke.

"Then I certainly can't force you, Professor—you should go and get some rest." Lavender's voice returned to normal.

The magical fluctuations also disappeared.

Why did Lavender suddenly give up?

At the classroom door, Trelawney, who had been staring blankly, about to enter a true Prophecy state, also came to her senses. She leaned weakly against the door frame. "Oh, oh, what did I just do? Good heavens, I shouldn't have drunk so much. Lavender, you should go back."

"Okay, Professor, shall I help you back to your office?"

"Oh, that's really kind of you..."

Sean picked up his wand and quickly pointed it at himself, instantly blending into the stone wall behind him.

Lavender emerged from the classroom, looking no different than usual. She warmly and carefully helped Professor Trelawney toward the Divination Office, even closing the door behind her.

"Lavender, that's strange..." Sean frowned as he watched the two slowly walk into Trelawney's office and close the door behind them.

"Hmm?" Sean's eyes widened slightly; he knew something was wrong.

Trelawney's true Prophecy state should, in theory, be known only to a select few, and Lavender was clearly not one of them. And Lavender's actions just now seemed to be all aimed at drawing out Trelawney's true linguistic state.

Trelawney also said that Lavender had asked her to make Prophecy many times before... which proves that Lavender came with the goal of getting Trelawney to make real Prophecy from the beginning!

The question is, Lavender Brown, how did she know Trelawney's secret?

Sensing something was wrong, Sean remained in his Disillusionment Charm and walked toward the office.

The door remained closed after the two entered. Sean immediately activated his access to the Room of Requirement, and a wooden door appeared on the stone wall next to the office. Sean pushed the door open and entered.

He went back inside the castle walls, and the scene in the office came into view.

Lavender Brown is missing!

Inside the office, Trelawney was left alone, slumped in her chair, seemingly completely unconscious.

Sean frowned, stepped out of the wall, and walked towards Professor Trelawney.

The pungent smell of alcohol lingered around the Divination professor, but she didn't look like someone who was unconscious from drinking.

Just as Sean was about to step forward to check, the air behind him, in the previously empty corner, was suddenly lifted, Lavender revealed his lifeless face, a wand pointed at Sean's back.

A red Stunning Spell shot out and struck Sean directly.

However, Sean's figure only swayed slightly before the red light passed through his body and smashed into the bookshelf.

Another beam of light swiftly struck Lavender Brown.

Sean snapped his fingers, "Lavender Brown's Invisibility Cloak, Accio."

An Invisibility Cloak Accio, revealing the unconscious girl below.

"Incarcerous" and "Petrificus Totalus" —Sean added two more spells to Lavender.

He frowned as soon as he walked over.

His pupils dilated rapidly, but a smile remained on his lips...

Someone cast Imperius Curse on Lavender Brown.
