The castle deep within Avalon was not as terrifying as it looked. Sean and the others encountered no obstacles at all when they entered.
The heavy castle doors resembled those of Hogwarts Castle somewhat, covered everywhere in charred-black marks, as though fire-breathing slugs had crawled over them.
Sean stepped forward and slammed his fist against the door three times. The doors opened in response.
A rotten, dilapidated stench surged out from within, making all four people at the entrance cover their faces and cough several times.
"Whirlwind Sweep—" Sean casually cast a spell, blowing away the foul smell.
"Once we're inside, no matter what happens to me, don't interfere. The instant Avalon Lake Water appears, go up and take it—" Sean turned to instruct the girls.
Hermione nodded at first, then frowned. "I know you have your own plans, and there are many hidden truths you can't tell us... but promise me this won't put you in any danger, okay?"
She had always been a clever girl. Even her occasional impatience could not conceal her rationality or her extraordinarily strong heart. That was simply Hermione's nature.
So, after experiencing so many bizarre, unspeakable events, even without receiving an explanation from Sean, she would still choose to trust his judgment.
Moreover, Hermione had always understood that if they were fighting enemies, the few of them could still offer some help. But when facing games at a higher level and secrets even harder to describe, there was extremely little they could do.
But people were not made of stone. Being able to make a rational judgment did not mean she could view all this easily.
Their experiences along the way had already given her some vaguely troubling suspicions. And in every one of those suspicions, Sean's ending was never quite... happy.
