Thoughts on Going Premium
To make a long story short, this book will be available for purchase tomorrow at noon. Let's celebrate! ヽ(°▽°)ノ
Thank you to all the readers who have supported me all this time, including Zero Score Cat, Six Paths Rain Pavilion, Nine Infants, Rain of Parallel Worlds, Jazo, Qi Moumou, joker You, and so on. There are too many to list. Every comment, every vote, and every donation from you is my motivation to write this book. I also want to thank my friends in the group, including Great Emperor Ha, Pudding, A Che, Li Huo, Xiao Minghe, and other big shots for their help all this time.
I also want to thank my editor Penglai, for her continued support, which allowed even a newbie like me to be featured on Sanjiang.
Now let's talk about this book. Actually, I was quite nervous when I first started writing it because it's a major departure from the original. I changed the Timeline to start directly from Fantastic Beasts 2, which made me worried that people might not be used to it.
So far, it seems alright.
However, I've encountered a new problem: my hand speed. I was incredibly confident at first, but now, wow, I can't even bear to criticize myself...
Many people commented at the beginning of the book: Why not go to Newmontgard?
This stems from my own considerations. To put it simply, if we went to Newmontgard, the original storyline would be much easier to write than it is now. Without the involvement of many original characters, I wouldn't need to worry about whether the characters would break character arcs, or what Snape, Harry, or Dumbledore would say or do.
So why don't I write it? It's simple. People come to read fanfiction. I can use the shell of Magical World to tell a new story, but if it doesn't include the characters that everyone likes, it's hard for such fanfiction to resonate with them, and I love those characters just as much.
Similarly, I want to make up for my regrets. I don't want the Twins in the Triwizard Cup to be the only time they see each other grow old after being cursed by magic. I hope Professor Lupin can have another child with Tonks, and I hope Sirius will never fall into the lonely, cold veil again...
This is one of the reasons why I wrote this book.
Let me talk about my writing approach. What I have always hoped to do is to have new stories, but not change the core of the original work, which is "love" that runs through the seven books.
Similarly, when I write about characters who have been altered, I will change their personalities based on reasonable developments, but I will not change their inherent traits.
For example, Harry, who lived with the Dursley family for eleven years, still maintained his kindness.
For example, Grindelwald can become gentle, but he is always so talented and unrestrained. He is unpredictable, but he will not hesitate to die for the ideals he holds or the person in his heart.
Or Draco, for example. He has a terrible personality, but there's always a kind heart in him.
My goal is to write a new and compelling story based on the core of the story.
I also hope everyone can be patient with me. If you feel that something doesn't fit the premise, you Sickle point it out, and I will look into it. I can explain some things on the spot, but explaining them would spoil the plot, and that would ruin the fun for everyone, right?
I think the outline is quite complete. The slow writing speed is partly because I need to think more, and partly because I keep coming up with ideas that I want to incorporate into the plot as small highlights without compromising the logic.
And I haven't had a day off in two weeks...
I won't go into those details; let's talk about the product launch.
Six chapters will be released tomorrow, with three chapters posted after midnight and the remaining three chapters posted in the afternoon.
If you donate, I'll give you an extra chapter for every 20,000 coins you give, and six chapters for every patron who becomes a patron. I'm not good at writing and I'm only doing this part-time, so I really can't do anything about it. I have to prioritize quality when I'm writing.
As for other ways to add chapters, let's start with the first subscription. I currently have 30,000 favorites, and the subscription-to-collection ratio is generally around 15-20. My subscription target is 2,000. For every 100 more subscriptions, I will add one chapter. If I can get over 3,000, I will release a month-long update spree, starting with three chapters a day.
Tomorrow is the end of the month, and there's a double monthly ticket event. I currently have over 700 monthly tickets. If I can get over 1,000, I'll add two more chapters. In the months that follow, I'll add more chapters every month if I can get over 1,000.
Also, if any of you want to give gifts, remember to do so between 8 PM and midnight, when you'll get double the monthly tickets for donations...
Oh, right, I've also noted down the extra chapters I promised due to the change in update schedule. I also noted down the extra chapters I mentioned in the group chat that I would post on Sanjiang Literature City.
See you tomorrow.
