Riddle's Watcher
The blue flames burned quietly, and the blue-green scales of the Occamy Naja Winky in the light, perfectly concealing the astonishment on Sean's face.
Aurelius Dumbledore ... Sean didn't even realize it at first, because he was more familiar with the other name: Credence.
Credence Barebone, from Second Salem, an Anti-Wizard Organization, was once bewitched by Grindelwald. He is the oldest Obscurial in Sean's memory. The Obscurus powerful. He was once killed by wizards from the Ministry of Magic, but he still survived.
As far as I can remember, he seemed to have been used by Grindelwald as a pawn to deal with Dumbledore, but I don't know what exactly happened to him in the current world.
Credence —no, he should be called Aurelius now. He waved his well-preserved wand, and a tunnel slowly appeared in front of the Stone Chamber.
"Child, put the flames and your little creature away."
After thinking for a long time, Sean finally retrieved Dave and Naja, and then spent a lot of effort to return the demonic flame to the tip of his staff.
The opponent is a terrifying being capable of blowing up half a mountain with a single spell. If he were to truly harm him, he would have almost no means of resistance.
Moreover, his ability to enter his own demonic flames has already proven a great deal.
Aurelius watched all this with a smile, and when the last wisp of blue flame disappeared, he spoke, "I understand your vigilance, but please allow me to explain. First, I must apologize again for the Imperius Curse. I am accustomed to using Dark Arts because I do not need to control malice."
"No need to control malice?" Sean repeated what the other person had said.
"Yes, the form I just displayed is called Obscurus," his expression remained unchanged, as if he didn't care about it at all. "Judging from your expression, you must have heard of it, right? Obscurus is a dark magical power, and the malice of my Dark Arts comes from the power itself."
Aurelius shrugged. "The Obscurus obviously has everything, and I can get along well with this annoying thing that's parasitizing my body, and borrow its power along the way."
Borrowing? I'm afraid it's more than that...
Sean became curious. Clearly, Aurelius played a key role in Dumbledore's reconciliation with Grindelwald, and he should know a lot about the inside story back then.
Aurelius saw the probing look in his eyes. "Don't look at me, child, only those two old men can give you the answer you're looking for."
"Hmm, maybe you can cast the Imperius Curse on me again, and then take me to ask them." Sean curled his lip.
Aurelius chuckled to himself, thinking, "What a vengeful little fellow."
He stopped talking about it and turned to walk towards the tunnel that had just appeared. "Come on, let me show you... uh, a movie? Forgive me for being out of touch with Muggle society for so long, I think that was a term back then?"
"A movie?" Sean followed, puzzled.
After passing through the tunnel, they arrived at another Stone Chamber, where Sean was surprised to find that one of Stone Chamber walls was transparent, revealing a scene.
That was Harry and his friends. The three of them were in a brightly lit room, with hundreds of brightly colored birds flying rapidly beneath the arched ceiling.
Sean immediately understood: Dumbledore had been having Aurelius oversee the mechanism of the Philosopher's Stone.
"Oh, they're pretty fast." Aurelius observed the trio's movements with considerable interest.
"Is this a task Dumbledore gave you?" Sean asked.
"Yes," Aurelius led Sean further into the stone tunnel, "Of course, my main task is to keep an eye on that ill-intentioned bastard."
No wonder Dumbledore said not to worry, it turns out that Riddle has been being watched by what may be the most powerful Obscurial in history.
Sean followed Aurelius through a long tunnel, passing several Stone Chamber. Through the transparent stone walls, Sean could see the mechanisms, a huge Magical Chessboard, a massive Troll that had fallen, and a table with many glass bottles.
There was a black flame directly in front of them, and it seemed to extend into many parts. There was also a flame in front of Sean and Aurelius.
"Does it look familiar?" Aurelius smiled at Sean. "It shares the same origin as your spell, but it's far more ferocious. So ferocious that even those approved by Albus need Potions to pass through it."
He handed me a small glass bottle, then took out another bottle and drank from it.
Sean picked up the small bottle and drank it all in one gulp. The Potions slid down his throat like ice and then shot into his bloodstream, sending a chill down his spine.
"Oh, that feels awful." Aurelius shivered as well, then beckoned to Sean and passed through the black flames.
Sean walked over as well, but the black flames did not harm him in any way.
Then he saw the scene behind the stone wall. It was Riddle. He had long lost his gentle and refined demeanor. His handsome face was slightly distorted, and he was staring coldly at the huge floor-to-ceiling mirror in front of him.
That's the Mirror of Erised.
"Look," Aurelius walked up to the stone wall and looked at Riddle as if admiring an oil painting, "It's clear that he can't get what he wants."
Sean walked over, and on the other side of the transparent stone wall, Riddle paced back and forth, occasionally casting a spell.
This gave him a strangely comical appearance.
"Many times, I have to admire Albus's brilliant ideas," Aurelius, looking at the clown-like Riddle and laughing. "It's a magic mirror that people like Riddle can only see themselves laughing maniacally and living forever in. Only the one who wants to find the Philosopher's Stone —find it, but not use it—can obtain it."
"Then why did Professor Dumbledore set up these mechanisms? I mean, none of the ones in front could stop Riddle, could they?" Sean asked.
"Who knows? I'm only responsible for keeping an eye on Riddle. As for thinking about the strategy, I'll leave that to Albus and Grindelwald. To be honest, I get a headache talking to them most of the time."
Sean nodded in deep agreement.
"Oh, it looks like your friends are almost here." Aurelius glanced in the direction they came from.
He raised his wand and looked at Sean: "Albus probably still wants you to see all this. Want to come along?"
