A Proposal to Establish the Riddle Protection Association
Sean's expression suddenly turned strange. He hadn't felt anything, so how could this be...?
On the system panel, there were many spells that Sean had never seen before.
Imperius Curse (Dark Arts) Lv1: Proficiency 4900/20000
Cruciatus Curse (Dark Arts) Lv1: Proficiency 6950/20000
Killing Curse (Dark Arts) Lv1: Proficiency 16500/20000
Fiendfyre Curse (Dark Arts) Lv1: Proficiency 5000/15000
Raise the Dead (Dark Arts) Lv3: Proficiency 10000/10000
Inferi Curse (Dark Arts) Lv2: Proficiency 6120/10000
Boiling Blood Curse (Dark Arts) Lv1: Proficiency 7850/15000
He learned dozens of spells he had never seen before, and they were all of high level. Most importantly, all of them were Dark Arts...
There's even a spell created by Riddle called "Raise the Dead," used to cast the Dark Mark.
Neither of the two people in the office disturbed Sean, who had fallen silent, until he looked up. Grindelwald winked at him casually. "How was the harvest?"
What a fruitful harvest!
"This..." Sean looked at Dumbledore face was solemn.
Dumbledore didn't ask Sean what he had seen, but simply said softly, "A lot of Dark Arts... is that right?"
"Yes, Professor, but I don't understand." Sean was completely bewildered.
Judging from the results, the black mist that had just entered his body should be related to Riddle, but he didn't feel anything, as if he had just gone on vacation.
Dumbledore looked at Sean for a moment, then sighed deeply, "That's a fragment of Riddle's Soul Fragment. Clearly, he was no match for your complete and powerful soul. You received the knowledge and experience from that fragment."
No wonder I have a whole bunch of spells now, and my proficiency has increased significantly...
Sean nodded, then asked in confusion, "But apart from receiving those things, I didn't feel anything else."
"That's normal," Grindelwald said, looking very pleased. "Sean, no matter how much of the Prophecy we've hidden from you, you surely understand that you're special, right? And that's your own secret. We don't know it and we won't try to find out. You'll discover it yourself in the future."
A secret? Sean frowned. Was this the system's doing?
But it doesn't look like it...
Dumbledore stood up, his tone carrying a hint of admonition. "Sean, I've seen far too many Dark Wizard fall into depravity. You're a smart kid, and you should know what the release of Dark Arts often means, right?"
Sean nodded. The casting of Dark Arts requires the caster to be filled with great malice. Over time, the wizard's emotions and mind will often be affected, eventually becoming twisted and insane.
"So, don't get hooked on those powerful but malevolent spells, okay?" Dumbledore looked at him and said in a deep voice.
Before Sean could answer, Grindelwald interjected, "Sometimes, wizards need ways to defend themselves. Sean, do as you see fit."
"That's Dark Arts!" Dumbledore shouted angrily at Grindelwald.
"Please, Albus, you know far more Dark Arts than I do. Aren't you still the greatest White Wizard of this century?"
"Sean is only in first grade. I will not allow him to let those malicious thoughts affect his reason."
"Sean isn't one of those mediocre people; benefits often come with risks! Besides, can't Dark Arts be improved?"
The two old men, whose combined age was over two hundred, started arguing.
Sean looked at the two with a headache; their conversation had drifted into their magical disagreements from their youth.
You two are only twenty years old combined, right?
However, he had no right to interrupt and could only stand there obediently.
Sean glanced at his system panel, where a long list of Dark Arts spells was displayed. To be honest, he was also having a bit of a headache.
Mastering spells is certainly not a bad thing, but as Dumbledore said, Dark Arts can affect a person's mind. A small amount of use might be able to suppress it, but if someone uses it like Riddle, who can just casually Avada Kedavra, then Sean suspects that the day he loses his nose is not far off.
Let's leave it for now... Sean decided to put aside those dozens of highly proficient Dark Arts for the time being. He still preferred Transfiguration and Magical Creatures, as he could be just as strong if he could utilize his talents in those two areas.
Moreover, these Dark Arts broadened his horizons, so that if he encountered a Dark Wizard who wanted to cast a spell on him in the future, he would have a way to deal with it.
Of course, Sean wasn't inflexible; he wouldn't hesitate to use his abilities when the time was right.
Inside the office, the strange and unusual silverware was still slowly emitting steam, and the two old men's argument finally came to an end.
Dumbledore's face was full of anger, and Grindelwald's face also turned red; neither of them could convince the other.
"Is this a rekindling of the bromance we had in our youth?" Sean blinked.
The two old men looked at Sean at the same time.
"Sean, the choice is yours," Dumbledore said.
Grindelwald shrugged. "Make your own choice. You don't need to give us an answer. After all, an old man with one foot in the grave smells of decay."
Sean chuckled dryly. "I understand."
There was a moment of silence as the two old men seemed to still be processing their argument, until Nagini flicked his tongue again, reminding them that they had other things to do.
After carefully examining Nagini and making sure no second or third Residual Soul would emerge, Dumbledore beckoned to Sean.
"Try again, child, I will protect you." He emphasized the word 'protect'.
Grindelwald sat back in his chair and said casually, "Albus, do you really think there are double gifts? Besides, shouldn't we be setting up a Riddle Protection Association?"
Dumbledore ignored him and looked at Sean.
Having already experienced it once, Sean didn't know whether he should be cautious or hopeful. He shrugged and stood in front of Nagini.
This time, nothing unexpected happened, and Nagini was not attracted to Sean, still violently writhing her large body.
Sean saw a glint of joy in Dumbledore's eyes and asked in confusion, "Professor, what's this?"
"Thank you for your help, Sean," Dumbledore straightened up. "Nagini's performance is exactly what I wanted to see."
He explained, "Nagini is not a python; her true form is human, but she is cursed, a curse that runs deep in her blood."
"I have no idea who invented the Blood Curse, but it is an extremely vicious curse," Dumbledore's voice lowered slightly. "A person afflicted by the Blood Curse will be able to switch between being human and being an animal, but will eventually become an animal forever, uncontrollably."
"At that time, the wildness of animals will completely suppress humanity, and her memories of being human will gradually disappear."
