Background / History

Li Ang transmigrated to Douluo Dalu roughly a century before the original story’s beginning. He possessed only two levels of Innate Soul Power and the ordinary Black Beast Soul Spirit, a black-wolf Beast Soul Spirit. 1 2

Unable to accept being trapped at level 39, he spent years researching Immortal Herbs in major-city libraries before locating the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well in the Sunset Forest. He initially sent subordinates into the dangerous well to retrieve the Marvelous Velvet Heaven Reaching Chrysanthemum, then used its effects to break his bottleneck. 104

Li Ang repeatedly exploited the well’s herbs whenever his cultivation stalled, eventually becoming a Titled Douluo at eighty. By the time his system activated at age ninety-nine, he had remained at level 91 for years. 2

His system rewards plot-alteration progress with points and supplies items, but prohibits him from directly killing targets or hiring assassins. Li Ang therefore operates as a behind-the-scenes instigator, empowering figures positioned against the original protagonists. 2 8

His first major alteration involved selling Tang San the modified Sunflower Manual and Evil-warding Divine Sword for one copper soul coin each. He later strengthened Xiao Chenyu by selling him the Demonic Dismemberment Technique, leading to Tang San’s severe injury. 1 3 8
