Background / History

Tang San was a transmigrator and a former Tang Sect genius from a martial-arts world. Unlike most Soul Masters of Douluo Dalu, he possessed prior knowledge of internal-energy cultivation through the Tang Sect's Mystic Heaven Skill. This let him recognize the apparent value of Li Ang's suspiciously cheap manuals when he encountered the old man's stall near Notting Junior Soul Master Academy. 1

Despite doubting their origin, Tang San purchased the Sunflower Manual and Evil-warding Divine Sword for one copper soul coin. Under mounting pressure from the Xiao Family in Notting City, he eventually chose to cultivate both manuals for greater strength. Their concealed consequences transformed his body and appearance, while dramatically accelerating his Soul Power growth. 1 12 21

At Shrek Academy, Tang San took command during the Zhao Wuji test and coordinated a team strategy around Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong. 27

Tang San later traversed Hell Road with Zhu Zhuqing, sought to poison and destroy Slaughter City, survived the Slaughter King's attack, and escaped the city. He obtained the God of Slaughter Domain but lost his right arm. 225 227

Heavenfall City and Death

After a year in Soul Beast forests controlling his killing intent, Tang San entered Heavenfall City under a Human Skin Mask and sought Shrek Academy. Instead, he found a false academy created to lure him out. 228

His Soul Power was detected, drawing Spirit Hall's pursuit. He broke through a squad led by a Soul Douluo but was ultimately surrounded by greater forces, including Qian Renxue. 229

The Asura God briefly saved Tang San from Qian Renxue, Pufferfish Douluo, and Spear Douluo. However, Li Ang then summoned his true main body into the world; Tang San died instantly upon seeing it. 230
