Background & History

Luo An is the son of Locke and Lilia, the Death Overlord. Although born from two Sovereigns, his bloodline did not initially reach full divine-beast purity. His true form was a grayish-green Dijiang Cub with two legs and two wings, unlike Locke’s crimson six-legged, four-winged Dijiang form. His mixed heritage gave him both a divine-beast body and traits of a plant-type special lifeform 352.

Because he developed consciousness while still being nurtured within Lilia, Luo An knew to become divine outside his body upon birth. Being born a deity spared him the usual stages through which mortals approach and comprehend laws, but it also left gaps in his foundational understanding. Locke and Lilia spent more than a decade cultivating his sensitivity toward laws and teaching him to use the Water Wave Profundity as a basis for understanding further Water Law Profundities 352 354.

Locke and Lilia deliberately balanced protection with hardship. They secretly safeguarded Luo An during his travels but intended to create controlled dangers so he would not grow complacent or overreliant on his parents’ status 360 367.

Appearance

Luo An first appears in the body of a small child, later growing into a young man who visibly resembles both Locke and Lilia 360 391.

  • His true form is a grayish-green Dijiang Cub 352.
  • Unlike a true Dijiang, he has two legs and two wings rather than six legs and four wings 352.
  • As a child, he wore a red ribbon around his body and carried a black spear 354.
  • More than five hundred thousand years after his birth, he appeared roughly ten years old; after more than a hundred trillion years, he appeared around twenty 370 391.

Personality

Luo An is curious, competitive, and intensely ambitious. As a child, he eagerly challenged any living being he encountered during his trial, and he accidentally entered the Battle Arena simply by following another participant into the wrong passage 354 358. His early confidence frequently crossed into recklessness, prompting Lilia to worry that his habit of rushing into unknown dangers would endanger him 360.

He dreams of becoming the strongest practitioner of the Water Law, a goal reflected in his self-proclaimed “Sea Emperor” title. His ambition survived repeated setbacks, including his inability to immediately attain Great Perfection after reaching the peak of the Water Laws 360 377 378.

Despite his willfulness, Luo An can accept guidance and improve quickly. He refined Dragon Tide Wave after Locke exposed its weaknesses, showed maturity by avoiding interference with Lilia’s enlightenment, and returned to his parents to seek instruction rather than blindly relying on instinctive bloodline power 363 395 410.

Abilities & Skills

Water Law

Luo An’s primary path is the Water Law. He was born with the Water Wave Profundity and later achieved Water Law Great Perfection 354 395.

  • His Water Element Divine Clone fused five Water Law Profundities at the Asura Prefect Lord level 370 372.
  • He later reached the peak of the Water Law and ultimately became a Water Law Paragon 378 395.
  • He touched upon the Round Soft Profundity while refining Dragon Tide Wave, apparently beginning an independent fusion of Water Law Profundities 363.
  • He pursued strength through combat and practical application rather than secluded meditation alone 367.

Dragon Tide Wave

Dragon Tide Wave is Luo An’s signature Water Wave Profundity technique. It creates a rotating watery vortex that traps and tears at opponents.

  • As a Low-grade God, he used it to defeat the Mid-grade God Wild Goose Blade Dudley in the Battle Arena 361 362.
  • Its rotational speed and direction can theoretically be varied, including opposing rotational layers to increase tearing force 362.
  • Its early weakness was poor control: an opponent with stronger Water Law attainment could exploit the vortex’s pulling force to accelerate it, increase Luo An’s divine-power consumption, and destabilize the technique 362 363.
  • Locke’s instruction emphasized complete control over raw power, allowing Luo An to improve the move rapidly 363.

Dual-Element Soul Variant

Luo An is a water–death dual-element Soul Variant, created through Locke’s arrangements after his Water Element Divine Clone encountered a bottleneck 370.

  • His Water and Death Element divine powers can fuse, producing divine power stated to be ten times stronger than that of ordinary High Gods, including Paragons 379.
  • This fused divine power allowed him to shatter attacks far beyond the ordinary Asura Prefect Lord level 379.
  • His Death Element Divine Clone remained with Levia while his true body and Water Element Divine Clone returned to the Underworld 394.

Space Divine Beast Bloodline

As Locke’s son, Luo An inherited a diluted Dijiang bloodline containing the mysteries of the Law of Space. Before becoming a Water Law Paragon, he could only use its power instinctively 395.

  • His bloodline could fold part of the space between himself and an opponent, making his actual attack range difficult to judge and evade 393.
  • After attaining Paragon, he could empower attacks and defenses with Space Power approaching the effect of Willpower 393.
  • His Space Divine Beast bloodline enabled him to strike Theresia even when the Great Perfection expert could not evade 380.
  • Locke taught him the three named Space Law Profundities: Space Transfer, Space Solidification, and Space Shattering 396.
  • His potential bloodline path could eventually make him unmatched among Sovereigns if fully excavated, though Locke stated it could not surpass his own achievements 396.

Law of Space

Luo An began formally cultivating the Law of Space after reaching Water Law Paragon.

  • Ten percent comprehension is equivalent to Lower Heavenly God status, while twenty-five percent is equivalent to an Intermediate Sovereign 396.
  • Upon becoming a Lower Heavenly God, he gained a rudimentary application of Space Transfer, shortening distance without reaching true teleportation 409.
  • He confirmed that the Law of Heaven and Earth creates a form of spatial freezing within its range and used the experience to improve his Space Law application 411.
  • He later possessed twenty-five percent comprehension of the Law of Space 489.

Soul Attack and Illusion Arts

Luo An possesses a technique described as an illusion, though it is actually a soul attack rather than a conventional illusion 378.

  • He showed little interest in illusion arts when young and was considered poorly suited to them by Locke 395.
  • His Soul Defense Lord Artifact did not protect him from Locke’s Eye of Hell illusion, demonstrating the overwhelming difference between his own soul techniques and Locke’s 395.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Black spear — carried during his childhood trial 354.
  • Divine spark spear — a godhead weapon with durability comparable to a Sovereign Artifact 372.
  • Divine spark armor — similarly durable godhead armor 372.
  • Soul Defense Lord Artifact — personally forged by Locke; Luo An’s sole Lord Artifact during his early travels 367.
  • Two drops of Sovereign’s Might — given by Lilia as a birthday gift; powerful but consumable 367.

Relationships

  • Locke — father, mentor, and protector. Locke teaches Luo An Water Law applications, the Ice Sculpture Method, bloodline cultivation, and the Law of Space 363 382 395 396.
  • Lilia — mother and the Death Overlord. She is protective, demanding, and deeply invested in Luo An’s development; Luo An treats her with more reverence and fear than he does Locke 360 377.
  • Levia — partner and later wife. Luo An protected her, guided her onto the cultivation path, and gave her the Water Lord Godhead that made her the Water High Sovereign 393 408.
  • Theresia — friend, rival, and fellow seeker of Great Perfection. Luo An introduced him to Locke, then fought him after Theresia attained Great Perfection 372 378 381.
  • Little Turtle — servant and mount. Little Turtle accompanies Luo An on his travels and is aware of the family’s hidden power dynamics 358 360 370.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Early Trial

Locke and Lilia allowed Luo An to lead a journey through the Underworld while limiting themselves to Saint Domain power. Luo An repeatedly challenged Saint Domain demonic beasts and demonstrated the destructive application of his Water Wave Profundity 354.

Blue Wing City and the Battle Arena

While attempting to register as a probationary Demon, Luo An mistakenly entered the Battle Arena. Calling himself “Sea Emperor,” he challenged Mid-grade God Wild Goose Blade Dudley despite being a Low-grade God and defeated him with Dragon Tide Wave 358 360 361 362.

Search for Theresia

After secretly leaving the Underworld in his Water Element Divine Clone, Luo An traveled through Hell and then to the Wind Element God Plane to meet Theresia, a genius Locke had been observing. Their initially hostile encounter became cooperative after Theresia learned Luo An’s identity 370 371 372.

Quasi-Great Perfection

After Theresia became a Wind Law Paragon, Luo An challenged him to measure the gap between himself and a Great Perfection expert. Their battle lasted three days and ended in a draw; the circulated record of the duel popularized the title “Quasi-Great Perfection” for Luo An 378 379 380 381.

Water Law Paragon and Bloodline Path

Luo An eventually became a Water Law Paragon while living alongside Levia. After giving her a Water Lord Godhead, he returned to Nether Mountain to seek Locke’s guidance on developing his inherited Space Divine Beast bloodline 393 394 395.

Space Cultivation

Locke explained that Luo An could use the Water Law as an anchor to cultivate the Law of Space and potentially fuse them into a Water-Space Law. Luo An later entered the Lower Heavenly God realm, began refining spatial divine power, and explored the Law of Heaven and Earth’s spatial effects 396 409 410 411.

Trivia

  • Luo An’s “Sea Emperor” ambition originated from Locke’s demonstrations of immense tsunamis over the Nether Sea 360.
  • He was born already divine, but this unusual start deprived him of the normal experiential foundation gained by cultivators who approach laws step by step 354.
  • Luo An’s birth was publicly celebrated across the Underworld’s sky for one hundred years, though Locke initially concealed the message from him through a mental suggestion 361 371.
  • He once nearly urinated while standing inside a pocket of space held in Locke’s palm after advancing to Lower Heavenly God 409.
