Background

Ye Zhiqiu was born in Holy Spirit Village to the farmers Ye Nan and Liu Qingqing. Though physically six years old, he retained the soul and memories of an adult from the 21st century. His parents’ farming Martial Souls—a hoe and a sickle—made him fear an ordinary life working the family fields, driving his ambition to become powerful and leave a mark on the Douluo Continent. 1 2

His Martial Soul awakening revealed an unprecedented Sharingan and Innate Full Soul Power. Spirit Hall deacon Su Yuntao attempted to recruit him, but Ye Zhiqiu feigned a tantrum to secure permission to attend Nuoding Academy first, promising to consider Spirit Hall after graduation.
