Ninth-tier — Dawn Sword Saint 354 Breaks through after receiving guidance from the Goddess of Dawn to follow her own path rather than Church doctrine; confronts Mordred with transformed swordsmanship and Holy Light.

Background

Celica wanted to become a Paladin, but her God's Chosen attribute required her to take the Priest profession instead. Rather than accept a conventional priestly role, she pursued swordsmanship and built herself into a combat priest whose deck exists almost entirely to strengthen herself. Her attributes are stated to have S+ growth across the board; after becoming a Priest, she exchanged magical power and spirit for strength and speed. 174

She served as an executive of the Blade of Dawn, a secret Church organization tasked with its “dirty work.” The organization was filled with battle-oriented elites, and Celica's exceptional strength ultimately led to her promotion as a Cardinal. Her later reputation as a Church role model came from turning her attention toward more righteous work, including eliminating cultists. 174 223 321

Celica practiced swordsmanship from childhood and never abandoned it after becoming a Priest. Her path evolved from headstrong killing technique to a style combining force and flexibility after she came to understand compassion through battle. 354

Personality

Celica is direct, combative, and impatient. She is most comfortable resolving threats personally and has little patience for bureaucracy, reporters, or political maneuvering. Her knowledge of intelligence work is limited despite her Blade of Dawn background, particularly where machinery and information transmission are concerned. 212 213 274

Her faith is directed toward the Goddess of Dawn rather than unquestioning obedience to the Church hierarchy. This distinction repeatedly puts her at odds with fellow Church officials: Celica opposes the Church's use of Death Knights, its trafficking-related corruption, and its pursuit of hegemony. 280 309 339

She takes responsibility for failures without making excuses. After failing to fully protect Nimel and Sophia during the Sea of Taboo incident, she withdraws in shame and intends to apologize. She also prioritizes exposing corruption over her own safety. 273 344

Abilities & Skills

Battle Priest Style

Celica is an unconventional Priest whose combat deck is designed around personal enhancement rather than support.

  • Seventy-two of her eighty deck points were devoted to enhancements, weapons, and equipment. 174
  • She normally carries no major healing or mana-restoration spells and may not even carry single-target healing spells. 174 306
  • Her recovery is nevertheless formidable while enhanced; wounds and poison sustained against Minette healed rapidly during their duel. 223
  • Her fighting style is burst-oriented and consumes magic power quickly. 223

Master Swordsmanship

Celica's swordsmanship is described as a perfected killing art, with no wasted movement. Her techniques are powerful enough to replicate Blue-card effects without expending cards.

  • Uses sword energy, quick-draw slashes, aerial movement, and strikes that disrupt an opponent's magic-power circulation. 223
  • Can sever traps such as Minette's near-invisible threads through sword technique alone. 223
  • Her sword skills, when supported by blessings, can simulate Blue-card power indefinitely as long as she retains her sword and magic power. 223
  • At Ninth-tier, her sword intent and Holy Light become the basis of the Dawn Sword Saint's power. 354

Holy Power Mobilization

As a high-ranking official of the Goddess of Dawn Church, Celica can mobilize exceptionally large amounts of Holy Power.

  • Her ability to mobilize Holy Power surpasses even Riccardo's. 315
  • She gains a combat advantage when fighting in a city containing a Goddess of Dawn Church. 322
  • Her power is reduced at night and under conditions favoring Minette's Goddess of Night-derived strength. 322
  • Her strong faith is the foundation of this power, though it does not translate into obedience to Church leadership. 315 280

Divine Radiance of Dawn

A large-scale Holy Light attack used against demonic and undead forces.

  • Dispels the demonic energy released when Death Knights are detonated. 339
  • Eliminates more than sixty percent of the Death Knights on her level in the Goblin Ruins. 340
  • Its heavy consumption leaves Celica vulnerable when she is forced to fight prolonged engagements. 353

Holy Light Judgment

A Golden Legendary spell card usable by Knights and Priests.

  • Summons countless golden light swords that strike enemies from above. 174
  • Its output scales with the user's strength and magic power. 174
  • Celica uses it with her longsword to massacre airborne ghouls and weaken their leader. 174

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Blade of Dawn — Celica's sword, raised during her Ninth-tier breakthrough. 354
  • Longsword — Her primary weapon and the focus of her combat style. 174 223
  • Holy Light Judgment — Eight-star Golden Legendary Spell Card. 174
  • Personal enhancement, weapon, and equipment cards — The core of her combat deck. 174
  • Healing Cards — By the beginning of the war, Celica carries a deck consisting entirely of healing cards despite rarely using them. 541

Relationships

  • Caroso Kolia — Initially clashes with him over taking Nimel into Church custody. They later cooperate against Paul and the Church conspiracy, and Celica recognizes Caroso's usefulness during the Laria crisis. 210 215 315 334
  • Nimel Kolia — Celica seeks to examine and protect Nimel because of her unusual divine connection. Her initial attempt to take Nimel causes conflict with Caroso, but she later takes responsibility for failing to protect her. 210 215 273
  • Sophia — Examines Sophia's ritual-derived divine power and warns that Sophia could explode if she cannot learn to control it. 188 189
  • Minette — A Dark Elf rival and fellow top-tier combatant. Their first duel ends without a victor; later they form a temporary alliance against the Sea of Taboo threat and Mordred while continuing to call each other mortal enemies. 222 224 244 271 354
  • Riccardo — A fellow Church official whose actions expose the divide between Celica's faith and the Church's institutional ambitions. Riccardo attempts to kill Celica and her allies with the God Slaying Array. 280 334 335
  • Merlin — A powerful ally whom Celica consults over ancient mysteries. Merlin later supports Celica and Minette against Mordred with a simulated Holy Lance. 272 354
  • Goddess of Dawn — Celica's true object of faith. The Goddess directly guides Celica toward her Ninth-tier breakthrough and tells her not to let Church doctrine restrain her path. 354
  • The Pope — Their relationship is openly tense; the Pope disapproves of Celica's rebellious conduct and unconventional preparation for war. 541
