Background & History

Tang San is a reincarnated Tang Sect expert who arrived in this world with the soul of an adult. During his early years, he was isolated in Holy Soul Village: his father Tang Hao provided little care, the village children kept their distance because of his family’s poverty, and he focused almost entirely on cultivating Tang Sect techniques. 2

Chen Feng deliberately approached Tang San to alleviate that isolation, regularly sharing stories and embedding humanistic ideals within them. Tang San gradually became interested in the wider world and formed a genuine friendship with him. Their routine dawn meetings—Tang San meditating while Chen Feng practiced swordsmanship—became the foundation of their partnership. 3 4

After awakening Blue Silver Grass, Tang San immediately offered to cooperate with Chen Feng’s research into Martial Soul evolution. He later entrusted Chen Feng with his greatest secret: his second Martial Soul, the Clear Sky Hammer. Chen Feng deduced that Tang Hao was the former Clear Sky Douluo and that Tang San’s mother likely died during the conflict surrounding Spirit Hall and the Clear Sky Sect. 4 5

Chen Feng advised Tang San to develop Blue Silver Grass through vitality rather than divide his focus between incompatible paths. This route gradually transformed the Martial Soul into a woody, resilient form and ultimately awakened Tang San’s Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. 6 88 92 192

Tang San eventually learns that his mother, Ah Yin, is a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast who took human form and survived as a Blue Silver Emperor. He accepts Xiao Wu’s own identity as a Soul Beast in human form, then directs his resentment toward the individuals and system responsible for his family’s tragedy rather than indiscriminately blaming others. 105 139 175

Appearance

Tang San first appears as a gray-clad boy who trains and meditates at dawn. After his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline begins awakening, the tips of his hair turn blue; he is later described as a blue-haired youth. 4 21 138

  • Blue hair, initially visible only at the tips during his early awakening. 21
  • Blue Silver Grass that develops from ordinary-looking blades into thick, deep-azure woody branches. 88
  • Fully awakened Blue Silver Emperor stalks are nearly trunk-thick, slightly translucent, and marked with faint gold. 192

Personality

Tang San is reserved and less outwardly lively than Chen Feng and Xiao Wu, a trait shaped by his two lives and long early isolation. He is nevertheless receptive to friendship, deeply values the companionship he gains in this world, and considers meeting Chen Feng and Xiao Wu one of his greatest gains. 2 60

He is loyal and considerate toward those close to him. He agrees to assist Chen Feng’s dangerous Martial Soul research without hesitation, allows Chen Feng to vent frustration during their childhood sparring, and accepts Xiao Wu after learning she concealed her Soul Beast identity. 4 21 105

In battle and conflict, Tang San is patient, adaptable, and pragmatic. He favors control, attrition, hidden weapons, and preparation over direct confrontation; he also comes to believe that vengeance must identify its true target rather than punish the innocent. 102 175 236

Abilities & Skills

Tang San’s primary Martial Soul follows a vitality-centered evolution path. It develops from apparently ordinary Blue Silver Grass into the Blue Silver Emperor, granting exceptional resilience, recovery, plant affinity, and battlefield control. 6 192

  • Absorbs energy from light, stores it, converts it into life force, and transfers that life force through Blue Silver Grass contact. 21
  • Restores allies’ stamina and mental energy continuously while light is available. 21
  • Can create explosive Blue Silver Grass seeds through Seed Toss. 21 32

  • Communicates with plants to gather information and track targets. 101 221

  • Tang Hao instructs him to conceal the hammer and primarily develop Blue Silver Grass for a long period. 6
  • Tang San considers the evolving Blue Silver Grass—under names such as “Blue Silver King”—a useful cover for the contradiction created by his Innate Full Soul Power. 10

Martial Soul Fusion Skill

Tang San can perform the Martial Soul Fusion Skill Jade Rabbit Pounding Medicine with Xiao Wu. 195 196

  • Produces powerful healing and restorative energy capable of treating Tang Hao’s old injuries. 195 196

  • The fusion leaves both users severely drained after use. 195
  • It cannot accelerate the growth of Ah Yin’s Blue Silver Emperor form. 196

Tang Sect Arts and Hidden Weapons

Tang San’s previous-life training gives him a major advantage over other Spirit Masters, especially in mobility, Soul Power control, and hidden-weapon combat. 32 191
