Hake's return and Beika's addition finally brought the Gu Ding Pirate Crew, which had been in a slump for the past few months, back to life.
On the Dream, the feast Bigge had spent the entire day preparing finally came into use that evening.
Everyone gathered together, enjoying the food while chatting about the amusing things that had happened to them during the years they had been apart. The atmosphere was thoroughly cheerful.
Seeing that Beika was having trouble fitting in for the moment, Liliath set aside their past grievances and walked over. "That ear stud of yours is pretty nice. Where did you buy it?"
"I didn't buy it." Beika shook his head with a smile. "And it isn't an ornament. It serves as a seal."
"A seal?" Liliath looked at Beika curiously.
"I was born with an abnormally keen perception of sound. Even the faintest noise, once it enters my ears, gets amplified countless times. That's why this ear stud is used to seal my hearing," Beika explained.
"So the sounds you hear now are sounds that have been weakened countless times after your hearing was sealed?" Liliath guessed.
"Actually, with my hearing sealed, I can't hear anything at all. But I can see the information carried by all kinds of vibrations, so I can understand what you're saying." Beika did not use voice transmission when he explained this, so Gu Ding and the others heard him as well and immediately gathered around in surprise.
"Beika, are you joking?" As a doctor, Dokter found it hard to believe in such an unusual constitution.
"I'm not joking. I obtain information through vibrations, so aside from a few special languages, I can interpret most languages, whether they belong to humans or other species." What Beika said left everyone feeling incredulous.
