Background

Lin Yu is the son of Lin Fan and Liang Xue, born two years before his half-sister, Lin Kexin. He was raised during the Federation’s expansion into an interstellar power and entered military service with exceptional fleet-command talent. By age twenty-eight, he and Lin Kexin had earned enough military merit for promotion to colonel. 183 304

He later conquered the Xitria Empire’s capital sector, one of the Milky Way’s four major powers, with negligible human losses. 401 As commander of an exploration fleet, he led the Federation’s first major operations in Andromeda, made contact with the Brilliant Empire, and represented the Federation during its affiliation assessment. 415 418

Lin Yu leads a Federation exploration fleet into the Andromeda Galaxy after failing to locate a Star Path. He targets the Haise Star Domain, confronts the Brilliant Empire’s defensive fleet, and establishes the Federation as a Level 6 civilization. 415

He subsequently oversees operations against the Purple Cloud Empire, annihilating 22 billion warships at Saka with Spatial Tear and setting a trap for the enemy’s Neutron Battle Star. 433

Lancer Breakthrough

To overcome the final barrier to S-Class Dark Energy Manipulation, Lin Yu enters a Zerg-controlled Minor Universe and lives primitively among the Tarak Tribe for four years. 658 671

During Dolke’s assault on the tribe, Zi Ling is gravely wounded protecting him. Lin Yu manifests Dark Energy without his auxiliary device, kills Dolke, advances to S-Class, saves Zi Ling, and destroys the Taro Beast horde. 663 664
