Background / History

Tang San was a transmigrator from another world and a former member of its Tang Sect, which specialized in hidden weapons and cultivation techniques. Before his death, he secretly learned inner-sect techniques; after leaping from a cliff, he reincarnated on Douluo Continent. 1

He grew up in Holy Spirit Village with his father, Tang Hao, and worked as Tang Hao's blacksmithing assistant. Although physically five years old when Wang Xiao first encountered him, Tang San possessed the mind and vigilance of an adult transmigrator. 2 3

Tang San trained daily by climbing the hill outside the village, cultivating the Mysterious Heaven Skill, and forging iron. His quiet routine was disrupted when Wang Xiao began using the same hill and repeatedly outperformed him physically, prompting Tang San to challenge him. Tang San is filial toward Tang Hao and fiercely loyal to Yu Xiaogang. He offers to remain home rather than upset his father, and later becomes enraged when Wang Bo insults Yu Xiaogang. 10 80

After several years apart, Tang San meets Wang Xiao again at Nuoding Academy. He challenges him over Xiao Wu, but his Bind and Parasite fail to restrain Wang Xiao; Wang Xiao breaks the Blue Silver Grass vines and defeats him with a single slap. 67 68

Tang San becomes increasingly resentful as Xiao Wu gives Wang Xiao her attention and affection. He resolves to train harder, create stronger hidden weapons, and eventually surpass his rival. 79 114

Later Fate

Tang San eventually establishes the Tang Sect on Douluo Continent and becomes the Asura God. 3 In the final conflict described in the narrative, Wang Xiao enters the God Realm, kills Tang San and the other male gods, and returns to Douluo Continent. 554
