History
Taixuan Sect was already a major cultivation power when Gu An joined its orbit. Its resources were abundant enough to attract hidden talents throughout the Outer Sect, while its Alchemy Hall maintained dozens of Medicine Valleys. 15 The sect hosted the World Outer Sect Assembly, inviting outer disciples from major sects—including demonic sects such as the Ten Thousand Yin Sect—to gather within its territory. 27
Its righteous reputation was undermined by internal corruption. Spies from the Thousand Autumn Pavilion and the Demonic Path infiltrated the sect, while Shen Zhen revealed that Taixuan Sect was secretly experimenting with demonic arts in the Outer Sect to prepare for the Demon Calamity. Handyman Disciples were treated as expendable in these plans. 28 61 The Heaven-Mending Platform crisis exposed Outer Sect City Elder Chu Xian as a demonic cultivator who intended to sacrifice the disciples gathered there. 64 67
After the conflict with the Demonic Path and the Epiphyllum Sect, Lu Baitian reclaimed the sect master’s position. He created the Venerable Pavilion, curtailed the Elder Hall, and ordered a purge that executed more than a thousand infiltrators. 91 The sect then transformed the Heaven-Mending Platform into a public sword-cultivation site, permitting cultivators from other factions to comprehend Sword Venerable Fudao’s sword intent. 72
The Epiphyllum Sect’s Main Branch later attacked with a Profound Heart Realm cultivator. Taixuan Sect deployed thirty-two Body Integration Realm cultivators, but they were overwhelmed until Sword Venerable Fudao intervened and defeated Jin Lingzun. 113 114 The sect subsequently fought alongside other powers during the wider campaign against the Epiphyllum Sect. 141 163
Sword Venerable Fudao’s victories became central to the sect’s ascent. Taixuan Sect erected a statue beside the Heaven-Mending Platform, publicized his deeds, negotiated to expand into other dynasties, and turned the Golden Ranking Assembly into a Nine Dynasties event. 120 125 129 Following the Heavenly Ranking Tournament and an agreement with the Seven Stars Spirit Realm, it became the recognized number-one sect of the Three Dynasties’ cultivation world. 246 255
Over time, the sect grew to several million disciples and eventually reached ten million disciples. 295 388 By the Taichu Era, it dominated seven seas and three continents, surpassing the former Seven Stars Spirit Realm and Star Sea Sect in influence. 562
Policies and Internal Culture
Righteous Reputation
Taixuan Sect presents itself as the world’s foremost righteous sect. It allowed outside sword cultivators to visit the Heaven-Mending Platform, using openness toward rival factions to strengthen its standing after internal crises. 72
- The words “Righteous Path” remain carved on the Heaven-Mending Platform. 67 107
- The sect publicly framed its alliance with the Seven Stars Spirit Realm as a joint commitment to protect the continent’s people. 255
- Its reputation is strongly tied to Sword Venerable Fudao, whom many outsiders consider its hidden Immortal protector. 482
Internal Corruption
Despite its orthodox image, Taixuan Sect has repeatedly faced factionalism, infiltration, and abuses of power.
- The Outer Sect was used in secret demonic-art experiments intended to prepare for the Demon Calamity. 61
- Demonic Path and Epiphyllum Sect spies infiltrated the sect on multiple occasions. 28 91 114
- Noble families within the sect could exert overwhelming influence; the Sheng Family’s power discouraged Lu Baitian and Ji Hantian from openly defending Wu Jue. 388
- The Qin Family later confessed to cultivating evil arts, prompting another internal reckoning. 490
- Ye Cang regarded the sect as a holy land in name but a place where disciples without backing struggled to gain justice. 565
Hundred-Year Teaching System
Gu An drafted a system under which every disciple would receive one hundred years of cultivation methods and spell guidance unless they violated sect rules. The policy was intended to strengthen the entire disciple body rather than focus solely on exceptional geniuses. 453
