Shen Jin led Zhao Chao and the Self-Defense Force on a training mission to clear Fragrant Sea Residential Community, where they fought evolved zombies and rescued survivors. As the exhausted group prepared to return, they encountered a man abducting a mother and daughter, and Liu Yang charged forward to confront him.

• Liu Yang revealed that the group came from Red Water Bay Base, prompting the leather-jacketed man to attack them.
• The man disarmed the Self-Defense Force, knocked Liu Yang unconscious, and wounded the others before Shen Jin’s Diamond Sword severed his Steel Claws.
• The attacker grabbed Shang Qian, but Shen Jin shot him in the head with a Desert Eagle and rescued her.

After learning about the three tyrants of Technology College, Shen Jin strengthened his defenses and moved the observation-zone residents inside the outer zone. Zhu Ying and Cao Changren came to Red Water Bay Base seeking revenge and its secrets, but found a thirty-meter-high wall blocking their way.

• Shen Jin learned that the three tyrants bullied settlements, collected food and women, and that Third Brother had two powerful brothers still alive.
• Shen Jin decided to improve his defenses after realizing that washed iron ore had produced gunpowder alongside other materials.
• Shen Jin brought everyone from the observation zone into the outer zone and built defenses through the night.
• Zhu Ying and Cao Changren discussed Third Brother's death and their plans to avenge him and investigate Red Water Bay Base.
• Zhu Ying and Cao Changren reached the observation zone and found the old shack gone, a deep pit in its place, and a thirty-meter-high wall before them.

Hu Shou visited the Heaven and Earth Net Bureau’s laboratory, where researchers were studying zombie virus samples and improving Gene Optimization Serum. He learned of a suspected Clone Technique user in D City and promised to verify the report and find the person.

• Hu Shou toured the laboratory as a scientist tested zombie-virus compounds and asked him to capture more M-Type Zombies, preferably M1 Zombies.
• Old Yang told Hu Shou that Gene Optimization Serum 2.0 had passed trials but still could not create Tier 1 superhumans.
• Old Yang explained that perfectly extracting energy from Zombie Crystal Cores might improve the serum, though researchers had not yet achieved it.
• Hu Shou and Old Yang lamented losing contact with Fu Wei and the Q City laboratory after the outbreak.

Zhu Ying and Cao Changren discovered the hidden entrance to Red Water Bay Base and broke through its outer wall, while Shen Jin’s people and the refugees waited in concealed areas. Zhu Ying and Cao Changren reached the inner door, poised to enter the base.

• Zhu Ying and Cao Changren mistook the thirty-meter wall for an illusion, then realized Cao Changren’s metalized fists could damage it but not break through.
• Zhu Ying used his energy ability to crack the wall at one of Cao Changren’s fist marks and exposed a concealed iron door.
• Cao Changren metalized his whole body before entering the passage with Zhu Ying.
• The refugees outside panicked after hearing the wall crash and pounded on the inner door, unaware that the base aboveground was empty.
• Zhao Chao led the recruits, the eight rescued women, and Shen Mengmeng through a hidden underground escape route, while Zhu Ying and Cao Changren approached the inner iron door.

Shen Jin’s trap killed Zhu Ying’s clone and the other superhuman, but Zhu Ying survived by hiding as the original and was shot by Shen Jin and Shang Qian. With all three enemies dead, Shen Jin and Shang Qian set out to claim their territory and supplies.

• Zhu Ying and Cao Changren entered Shen Jin’s trapped passage, where pistons slammed down and twenty blocks of TNT exploded, destroying the wall.
• The original Zhu Ying survived by using his clone technique, then planned to recover and return for revenge.
• Shen Jin shot Zhu Ying at close range, and Shang Qian cut off his head to ensure he was dead.

Shen Jin's group searched the central building at D City Institute of Technology, finding a huge food stockpile and a stash of Energy Crystal Cores in the former leader's room. The chapter ended when someone reported a person inside another room, putting the group on guard.

• Shen Jin led his group to the main building and had them cautiously search its floors.
• The group discovered that the second floor was filled with themed sex rooms, then found large reserves of food on the third floor.
• Shen Jin used his inventory to collect the instant noodles and decided to transport the remaining supplies later.
• Shen Jin found Energy Crystal Cores, including a super evolved zombie's core, in the leader's room, bringing his quest progress to 93/100.

Shen Jin and his team found Mu Yan, rescued her from captivity, and learned that other women in the building had suffered badly. After searching the rooms and collecting zombie crystal cores, Shen Jin completed his mission and prepared to bring the survivors back to Red Water Bay Base.

• Shen Jin recognized Mu Yan, and she learned that his team had killed the three men who imprisoned her.

• Spider-Man revealed four metal legs from an Iron Spider suit and smashed through Shen Jin’s stone defenses.

Shen Jin and his group escaped Government troops who tried to detain them, then returned safely to Red Water Bay Base. He opened the Crystal Core Shop and was astonished by what it offered.

• Shen Jin and Zhu Dan decided to flee as Government troops advanced, and Shen Jin raised a stone wall to block their view.
• Shen Jin led the group through a tunnel, while the Government troops searched the school and failed to find them.
• The Government troops reported their failed mission, helped secure the school, and withdrew.
• Shen Jin's group emerged on a shopping street, and Zhu Dan parted ways with them before they returned to Red Water Bay Base.
• Shen Jin rested briefly, went to his workshop, and opened the Crystal Core Shop in amazement.

Shen Jin examined the Crystal Core Shop and decided to pursue an Advanced Special Ability Awakening Potion, but he lacked the cores to exchange for it. He called the Heaven and Earth Net Bureau to propose a trade for their Zombie Crystal Cores.

After receiving word that Lu Qiang could extract substances from Energy Crystal Cores, Hu Shou set out for Red Water Bay to meet him, while Shen Jin prepared for the Government delegation.

• Hu Shou landed at the Grain Reserve Bureau base and asked Xia Anbang for a report on the failed operation to capture Zhu Ying.
• Xia Anbang told Hu Shou that Zhu Ying was believed dead and described a group led by a powerful Earth-based ability user who had escaped pursuit.
• Hu Shou ordered Xia Anbang to prepare a thousand Energy Crystal Cores and accompany him to Red Water Bay to meet Lu Qiang.
• Hu Shou received a call from the Heavenly Net's Main Base about Lu Qiang's equipment for extracting substances from Energy Crystal Cores.

The Heavenly Net team flew away on friendly terms, and Shen Jin planned to use the cores to make [Special Ability Enhancement Potions].

• Shen Jin completed the Tier 1 Superhuman mission, received 50 World Coins, and accepted a new mission to grow the settlement population to 1,000.
• Shen Jin decided to build another outer zone for the women from the Technology College and planned to leave personnel management to Shang Qian.
