On the bridge within the dark Root Base, Shimura Danzō's aged face rarely broke into a smile at Kakashi's arrival. But after Kakashi knelt on one knee and respectfully finished reporting his mission intelligence, Danzō was first stunned, then revealed a smug expression.
"So that's how it is. The Third publicly removed you from the Anbu because he wanted you to join the Konoha Military Police Force's Seventh Division and investigate from within. Your advantage is that Sharingan of yours, as well as the Seventh Division's unique position!"
Danzo smiled. Inwardly, he mocked the Third for being too clever for his own good. At last, he had finally beaten that Old Monkey this round.
"Kakashi, the Uchiha Clan is inherently evil. The fact that the Nine-Tails was controlled by the Sharingan is beyond dispute. I hope you can infiltrate the Military Police Force—for Konoha!"
It had to be said that Shimura Danzō's mind worked quickly enough. In an instant, he had thought of how to maximize his gains.
If Kakashi continued concealing his relationship with him and infiltrated the Military Police Force, it would bring him nothing but benefits.
