Background / History

Kakashi lost his father at seven and became isolated, then suffered the deaths of Obito Uchiha, Rin Nohara, the Fourth Hokage, and the Fourth Hokage’s wife. Rin’s death in particular left him haunted by having driven Chidori through her chest. 59

Following the Nine-Tails’ Rampage, he served in Anbu with an increasingly reckless, death-seeking combat style. His classmates petitioned the Third Hokage to remove him from Anbu, and Hiruzen reassigned him to secretly infiltrate the Konoha Military Police Force and investigate the Uchiha Clan. 62

Danzō separately recruited Kakashi as a covert Root contact, making him a double agent in the Military Police Force.
