History
The Crystal Palace initially provides Broly with information about its restrictions, including limits on what he can carry between worlds. It later identifies potential Capture Targets, displays their Happiness Values, and facilitates invitations to membership. 8 48
Illyasviel von Einzbern became its first Official Member after accepting a prompt sent directly to her. The Palace then displayed its first recorded membership count, 1/5, and stated that reaching five Official Members would upgrade the module. Broly received 200 Happiness Points from Illya's membership. 20
The system describes itself as non-intelligent: it does not proactively explain information unless Broly asks a relevant question. 237 Despite this limitation, it can evaluate environmental conditions, explain cross-world rule interactions, and issue warnings or prompts. 237 315 522
Its rules are stated to stand above the D95 World and rule-based creations derived from it. However, while Broly is present in another world, the Palace's rules may take lower priority than that world's rules to reduce the world's rejection of an outsider. 261 522
Functions
Membership and Happiness Points
The Crystal Palace detects recognized Capture Targets and displays their current Happiness Values. 48
- Official Members receive a Crystal Palace Panel and can be represented by avatars displaying their Happiness Values. 20
- Happiness generated by members is converted into Happiness Points for Broly to spend on Palace functions and exchanges. 20 237
- Reaching five Official Members upgrades the Crystal Palace Module. 20
- In addition to recognized Capture Targets, Broly can define female extra members himself, though doing so consumes Happiness Points. 510
- Extra members can generate Happiness Points without being required to bathe or sleep with Broly. 510
- The system distinguishes between recognized Capture Targets and unrecognized applicants; Nanahoshi Shizuka was initially rejected because she was not recognized. 510
Exchange Shop
The Palace contains an Exchange Shop that can trade Happiness Points for items, including food and certain special items. 25 113
- Broly considers ordinary food exchanges inefficient once cross-world transport becomes available. 524
- Special items, such as the Imperial Arm Demon's Extract, remain notable exceptions. 113 524
- The Exchange Shop can be used to obtain water when local magic fails, though this costs Happiness Points. 237
Space of Love / Inner Space
The Space of Love is the Crystal Palace's internal storage and refuge dimension. 114 354
- Space costs 10,000 Happiness Points per cubic meter to create. 114
- Items stored inside can be carried during Broly's Other World travel, unlike ordinary carried belongings. 114
- A Cross-World Teleportation Gate can only be entered when enough Inner Space volume is free. 315
- Unmodified space has no air; breathable conditions require an ecosystem, stored gases, or an environmental zone. 315 381
- At Lv. 5, members can recreate familiar rooms, terrain, and larger environments, but construction and dismantling both consume Happiness Points. 380 381
- Official Members can use the Inner Space as a sanctuary, while non-members cannot enter. 354
- By the Loki Familia expedition, it held over 1,700 cubic meters of usable storage capacity. 760
Cross-World Travel
The Crystal Palace manages Broly's Space-Time Energy and his travel to other worlds. 26 315
- Mobile Charging converts Broly's movement through space into Space-Time Energy; originally, crossing one light-year produced one year's worth of energy. 26
- Mobile Charging upgrades halve the required travel distance. It had reached one-sixteenth of a light-year per energy increment by Broly's second crossing preparations, and one-sixty-fourth by his later return from the Konosuba world. 26 237
- The Cross-World Teleportation Gate was constructed for 1,000,000 Happiness Points and enables travel to worlds Broly has already visited. 315
- Gate travel requires selecting an Official Member as a world-positioning anchor. 315
- A Level 2 gate reduced world-crossing costs to 5,000 Happiness Points and entry into the Inner Space to 500 points. 381
- A Level 4 gate later reduced these costs to 1,250 Happiness Points for world crossing and 125 points for Inner Space entry. 524
- The duration of Broly's stay in a newly visited world is governed by a Time Limit based on that world's rejection of outsiders. 644
Cross-World Communication
The Otherworld Communication Device was built for 100,000 Happiness Points and ten cubic meters of Inner Space. 237
- It enables one-on-one communication and a multilingual Crystal Palace Group Chat Room. 237
- Its initial same-world communication rate was 10 Happiness Points per minute; cross-world communication cost 1,000 points per minute. 237
- Group-chat messages were initially charged at one Happiness Point per character, with no charge for merely reading. 237
- After upgrading to Level 2, same-world calls cost one point per minute, cross-world calls cost 100 points per minute, and text-message costs fell to 0.1 points per character before reaching free minimum-cost messaging. 315
- The device allows members from different worlds to coordinate, share information, and maintain their Happiness Values. 237 315
Rule Priority and Memory Protection
The Crystal Palace can shield members from lesser worlds' rule systems, though this protection has specific limits. 475 522
- Official Members' consciousness is normally protected from the inferior time rules of lesser worlds. 475
- In the Six-Faced World's time loops, this protection applies only to the current time segment: a version of a member who has not yet joined in the current loop does not retain prior-loop memories. 475
- If members remain inside the Crystal Palace's Inner Space, a lesser world's time reversal cannot affect them. 522
- Members who return to their own lesser world can again be affected by that world's time reversal. 522
- The Palace can preserve only part of a world-dependent ability when its user crosses worlds; Ryougi Shiki's Root-derived powers, for example, are reduced to her Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. 411
- Whether an imported energy system can persist in another world depends on that world's rules; unsupported energy may dissipate after its source leaves. 411
Limitations
- The Crystal Palace does not answer questions proactively and identifies itself as lacking intelligence. 237
- It cannot freely position travel across Broly's home universe without an Official Member recognized by the Palace remaining on Vampa; otherwise, positioning remains tied to the star system. 631
- Inner Space environmental modules consume both Happiness Points and physical volume, while dismantling them also costs points. 381
- The Crystal Palace's protection can be superseded by the rules of the world Broly is currently visiting. 522
- Its recognition of members is rigid: prior membership in another time-loop segment does not automatically make a current-loop counterpart an Official Member. 475
