Ch. 21The Adoption Contract, Signed Again

Tokiomi Tohsaka investigated the Matou Family’s worm magecraft and signed a new adoption contract with Zouken Matou, leaving the choice of which daughter to send to Aoi. Meanwhile, Broly learned how to earn Happiness Points through the Crystal Palace and spent the night with Fujimura Taiga before his expected departure.

  • After Aoi Zenjou told Tokiomi Tohsaka about Kariya Matou’s condition, Tokiomi sent Zouken Matou a letter and visited the Matou Family with Gilgamesh.
  • Zouken Matou showed Tokiomi how the Crest Worms damaged Kariya Matou while stimulating his Magic Circuits, then promised not to use cruel modifications on the adopted daughter.
  • Tokiomi and Zouken signed a Magecraft Contract guaranteeing the adopted child’s life and inheritance of the Matou magecraft, but Tokiomi left open whether Rin or Sakura would be sent.
  • Tokiomi told Aoi that she could decide which daughter to send, while explaining that he still thought Sakura might be the better choice for the Matou Family.
  • Broly learned that inviting his wives into the Crystal Palace converted their Happiness Value into Happiness Points, and Fujimura Taiga became an Official Member after accepting his invitation.
  • Fujimura Taiga tried Vampa Spider meat, listened to Broly’s stories, and held him as he fell asleep on the night before their parting.

Ch. 22Monkeys May Not Appear on Auspicious Clouds

After Sakura and Rin’s Happiness Values crashed, Broly set out to find them and learned that Sakura had returned to the Matou Family. He arrived as Sakura prepared to go back to the House of Worms, leaving the family stunned by his dramatic entrance from the sky.

  • Broly erupted in anger when he saw Sakura’s and Rin’s Happiness Values plummet, then calmed down and asked Fujimura Taiga to help him find them.
  • Fujimura Raiga obtained Rin’s address, and Broly, Taiga, and Scarface went to the Zenjou villa, where a resident said the family had returned to Fuyuki City.
  • Broly flew the car and its passengers to the Tohsaka Residence, broke through its gate and defensive magecraft, and found the house empty.
  • Broly realized Sakura and Rin might be at the Matou Family, while Sakura prepared to return there after volunteering to spare Rin from being adopted.
  • Broly arrived at the Matou Family with a car slung over his shoulder as Sakura, Rin, Aoi Zenjou, Tokiomi Tohsaka, and Zouken Matou watched in surprise.

Ch. 23Archer Is a Ranged Class!

Broly attacked Tokiomi Tohsaka after learning he planned to send Sakura back to the Matou Family, then fought Gilgamesh when the king intervened. The chapter ended with Gilgamesh keeping his distance and insisting that an Archer should fight at range.

  • Broly arrived with Fujimura Taiga and confronted Tokiomi Tohsaka about sending Sakura back to the Matou Family.
  • Tokiomi Tohsaka attacked Broly with fire and gravity magecraft, but Broly shrugged off both and beat him until Kirei Kotomine tried to intervene.
  • Broly sent Kirei Kotomine flying and continued attacking Tokiomi Tohsaka until Gilgamesh stepped in to defend his retainer.
  • Broly broke free of Gilgamesh's Chains of Heaven, shattered his shield, and forced Gilgamesh to fight seriously with the Gate of Babylon.
  • Gilgamesh struck Broly with a hidden warhammer, but Broly recovered and accused him of cheating by throwing things.
  • Gilgamesh defended his long-range attacks by saying he had manifested as an Archer and therefore should fight from a distance.

Ch. 24I Helped You Take Back Your Home!

Broly defeated Gilgamesh in a clash of their strongest attacks, then forced Tokiomi Tohsaka to abandon his plan to give Sakura away. After Zouken Matou handed Sakura over, Broly offered to take her home, but she asked to go with him instead.

  • Broly pursued Gilgamesh through the storm with Energy Blasts, surviving lightning strikes while Gilgamesh struggled to evade him.
  • Gilgamesh proposed a one-move contest, and Tokiomi Tohsaka spent both Command Spells to supply the mana for Ea.
  • Iskandar recognized the danger of Gilgamesh’s attack and fled Fuyuki City with Waver.
  • Gilgamesh unleashed Enuma Elish, but Broly’s Compressed Energy Ball swallowed the attack, annihilated Gilgamesh, and damaged the moon as it flew away.
  • Broly beat the injured Tokiomi Tohsaka until he dropped his plan to give Sakura away, and Zouken Matou handed Sakura over to him.
  • Broly told Sakura she could return home, but she clung to him and said she wanted to go home with him instead.

Ch. 25FZ Aftermath: Father and Son on Vampa

Broly returned from the Fourth Holy Grail War to Vampa after inviting Sakura and Rin to join his Crystal Palace, while the aftermath of the war reshaped Fuyuki and the lives of its survivors. Reunited with Paragus, Broly insisted he had traveled to another world, then fought with his father and shared food from the Crystal Palace.

  • Broly invited Sakura and Rin to join his Crystal Palace, and both girls accepted before he vanished back to Vampa.
  • The Fourth Holy Grail War ended with Waver and Iskandar destroying the corrupted Holy Grail, while Kiritsugu survived and later adopted Shirou.
  • Kariya died after Zouken detonated the Crest Worms, while Tokiomi recovered and Sakura stayed with the Fujimura Family.
  • After returning to Vampa, Broly reassured the anxious Paragus that he had visited another world, but Paragus did not believe him.
  • Broly and Paragus fought until Broly stomped his father into the ground, then Broly offered him a Pork Cutlet Rice Bowl from the Crystal Palace.
  • Paragus realized Broly might have told the truth after smelling the meal, but Broly beat him up again after he finished eating.

Ch. 26Crossing Over Again

Broly spent nearly three years using Mobile Charging to fill the Crystal Palace’s Space-Time Energy, then left Vampa for the Other World after entrusting Paragus with a meal. He arrived at the Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest, where Akame and Kurome were among children forced into a deadly trial to select future assassins.

  • Paragus urged Broly to upgrade Mobile Charging, and Broly spent half his Happiness Points to reduce the required travel distance to one-sixteenth of a light-year.
  • Broly flew across Vampa to charge the Crystal Palace, while he and Paragus traded spider eggs and Ba Ya Blood for food and shared their meals.
  • After more than two years, Broly filled the Space-Time Energy Slot; Paragus gave him advice about finding wives and surviving powerful enemies before Broly left him a Pork Cutlet Rice Bowl and traversed.
  • Imperial Soldiers brought enslaved children to the Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest and ordered them to reach its clearing, killing a boy who tried to flee.
  • Akame took Kurome into the forest, where a Danger Beast attacked the children and scattered them.
  • Bill and Goeschi discussed choosing children who survived the trial for assassin training, and Goeschi cut down a bird-like Danger Beast with his Demon Sword.

Ch. 27Twin-Eyed Sisters

Broly encountered Akame and Kurome in the forest, saved them from a pack of wolf-like Danger Beasts, and invited them to eat with him. As they traveled toward a safer place, he stopped to rescue a girl caught by Luring Man-Eating Flowers.

  • Akame and Kurome fought off a wolf-like Danger Beast, then faced three more and prepared to defend each other.
  • Broly appeared and killed the three attacking Danger Beasts, then offered the sisters some of the blood he disliked drinking.
  • Akame and Kurome thanked Broly, accepted his offer of friendship, and agreed to eat with him somewhere safer.
  • Broly bundled up the wolf corpses and carried them as provisions while he traveled with the sisters.
  • Broly and the sisters found a girl trapped in a Luring Man-Eating Flower, and Broly set down the corpses to rescue her.

Ch. 28Hunting Transport Team Assembles

Broly rescued children from Luring Man-Eating Flowers and Danger Beasts in the Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest, then led them on a hunt while they carried his supplies. By dusk, Bill and Goeschi were still waiting as the first few children emerged from the forest.

  • Broly rescued Akame and Kurome from a Luring Man-Eating Flower, then drank its nectar while the sisters cut him free.
  • Akame and Broly rescued a girl’s older sister from another flower, and Akame revived her with first aid.
  • Broly rescued seven children, collected flower buds filled with nectar, and recruited the children to carry his belongings.
  • Broly led the children into the forest to hunt Danger Beasts, saving more children and turning them into ingredient porters.
  • Bill grew anxious when no children returned by dusk, while Goeschi told him to wait; several children eventually emerged from the trees.

Ch. 29External Wife

Bill discovered that corruption had left him with only six children for the assassination unit, while Goeschi refused to train them and waited for another batch. Meanwhile, Broly led more than seventy rescued children to safety, where they shared food and began treating him as their protective big brother.

  • Bill learned that only six children had escaped and ordered the local Empire officer to punish the logistics officer blamed for embezzling the purchase funds.
  • The Empire officer shot the young officer responsible for the botched delivery and killed a girl in the tent, then ordered the dead man's home ransacked.
  • Goeschi rejected the six children as unsuitable assassins, so he and Bill prepared to wait ten days to half a month for another batch.
  • Broly brought more than seventy children to a clearing, where they gathered ingredients and cooked meat from the Danger Beasts he had killed.
  • Nahash offered Broly the first bite, prompting the children to share their food and explain that giving a big brother the first bite pledged them to his protection.
  • Losang told the children that his former big brother had been killed by a noble's guard, and the group declared that they wanted to follow Broly.

Ch. 30Time Limit

Broly shared a meal and a night’s shelter in a giant tree with the rescued children, while learning he could remain in this world for more than 62 days. The next morning, he killed an avian Danger Beast that attacked the group, and the children celebrated their breakfast and dependable Big Brother.

  • Akame and Kurome tried to give Broly their first bites of grilled meat, so he traded portions with them and ate alongside the sisters.
  • Broly sampled Tsukushi’s flower-nectar-marinated meat, then finished the remaining food after the children had eaten their fill.
  • Broly blasted away a giant tree’s canopy and carried all seventy-three children up with vines so they could sleep above the dangers on the forest floor.
  • As the children cried and comforted one another through the night, Broly checked the Crystal Palace and learned he had 62 days, 6 hours, 30 minutes, and 22 seconds left in this world.
  • The next morning, an avian Danger Beast grabbed Losang, but Broly seized the bird and battered it against the trees until it died.
  • Broly declared that they would eat the bird for breakfast, and the children cheered.

Ch. 31The Imperial Intelligence Agency Arrives

Broly and the children encountered Goeschi and the Imperial Intelligence Agency, who had come to retrieve them. After Goeschi attacked one child and tried to recruit Broly, Broly kicked him aside, and Goeschi began a violent attempt to take him by force.

  • Broly hunted fish and a giant crocodile-like Danger Beast to feed the children by the river.
  • Goeschi and Bill followed the signs of cooking smoke and found the children in the forest.
  • Goeschi offered the children food and shelter, but they accused the Empire of causing their kidnapping and refused to go with him.
  • Goeschi kicked the bespectacled boy who led the children’s resistance, and Broly kicked Goeschi into a tree.
  • Goeschi invited Broly to join him, but Broly said he already had a father named Paragus and was stronger than Goeschi.
  • Goeschi took a soldier’s sword and charged at Broly, intending to take him by force.

Ch. 32I'm Going to Take You to Find Happiness

Broly defeated Goeschi and the Imperial Intelligence Agency, then fed the children with the giant crocodile he caught. After learning which way the agents had fled, he set off with the children to find what he called happiness.

  • Goeschi repeatedly charged Broly, then drew his Imperial Arms, Murasame, and tried to kill him after deciding he was an obstacle to the Empire.
  • Goeschi slashed Broly’s neck, but Broly remained unharmed and knocked Goeschi unconscious while chasing the giant crocodile; Bill ordered the agents to flee with Goeschi.
  • Broly caught the crocodile, and Akame used the broken Murasame to cut through its hide while the children prepared the meat.
  • Cornelia asked whether Broly was hurt, and he explained that Goeschi might have been too hungry to hit him hard.
  • After sharing the roasted crocodile with Akame, Little Fatty Losang, Cornelia, and Boni, Broly said he would take the children to find happiness and headed after the fleeing agents.

Ch. 33Blisters and Shoes

Broly led the children through Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest, clearing a path with an Energy Beam and helping them avoid dangers. At camp, the children discussed their blisters, and a Boy with shoemaking skills made a soft pair of vine-and-fur shoes, prompting the others to plan to make more.

  • Broly blasted a broad road through the forest, startling the children before Nahash led them in applauding him.
  • Broly showed the children how he fired Energy Blasts, but none of them could replicate the technique.
  • Akame, Kurome, and the other children discussed their painful blisters and the hard shoes the Slave Traders had given them.
  • Broly tried to weave shoes from long-haired deer fur, then asked the children whether anyone knew how to make them.
  • A Boy whose father had been a shoemaker wove a pair of vine-and-fur shoes, and Akame tried them on.
  • Tsukushi and other children offered to learn shoe weaving together after the group ate its dinner of roasted long-haired deer, Haisen Great Worms, and fish soup.

Ch. 34Tumbleweed Shoes, Baizi's Birth, and the Southern Direction!

Broly helped the children make shoes while Goeschi abandoned his pursuit after the Empire refused to support him. The group escaped the Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest and headed south toward Rivarina’s homeland.

  • Broly made round, tangled Tumbleweed Shoes and then helped the children scrape bark from vines, glad to take part in their group activity.
  • Goeschi asked Assistant Nishinomiya for reinforcements after Broly defeated his group, but Nishinomiya refused and ordered him to focus on establishing the Assassination Department.
  • Goeschi decided to train the six children he had brought out instead of pursuing Broly, and invited Bill to drink with him.
  • After three days of travel through the Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest, Broly and the children reached the Mangrove Swamp near the Empire’s western border.
  • Rivarina recognized the area as near her homeland and pointed out that it lay farther south; after Tsukushi corrected their mistaken direction, Broly led the group south.

Ch. 35Catching Fire, Tree Branches, and Weighted Flight

Broly and the children traveled through the Mangrove Forest, learned to catch fish, and struggled to make a fire before Broly used Qi to start one. After Broly spotted Rivarina’s tribe from the air, he offered to fly everyone there, though he was unsure whether he could carry them all.

  • Rivarina explained the mangrove’s dangers and showed the children how to spear fish while Broly easily caught fish from the water.
  • The children could not start a fire with wet branches, so Broly carefully used Qi to ignite one and then roasted their fish.
  • Broly chewed poisonous redwood branches, which left his mouth bitter and made him regret eating them.
  • At dusk, Rivarina could not find her tribe’s markers, so Nahash asked Broly to fly up and search for signs of people.
  • Broly spotted Rivarina’s tribe several kilometers away, and Rivarina recognized its mangrove island from above.
  • Broly offered to fly the group to the tribe, but he was unsure whether he could carry everyone that far.

Ch. 36Eat Fewer Poisonous Mushrooms

Broly flew Rivarina and the rescued children on an uprooted Mangrove Forest to the Red Leaf Tribe, where Rivarina reunited with her family. The tribe welcomed the children, while Broly arrived sick after chewing poisonous Redwood branches.

  • Broly carried the children through the sky on a flying Mangrove Forest, and Cornelia threw away the poisonous mushrooms Boni had kept.
  • Rideriel prepared the Red Leaf Tribe for battle when the flying forest approached, but Rivarina called out to him and reunited with her father.
  • Rivarina told Rideriel and Riparip that the Empire's Slave Catching Team had sold her and the other children into the Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest, where Broly rescued them.
  • Broly flew out of the forest dry-heaving, and Rideriel learned that he had chewed poisonous Redwood branches and ordered him brought to the tribe for herbs.
  • Rideriel arranged for the children to stay in the tribe, and Riparip punched a tribesman who said Rivarina had been dead.

Ch. 37Red Leaf Tribe

Broly and the rescued children stayed with the Red Leaf Tribe, where the children gradually befriended the tribe’s children through fishing, fights, and games. Riparip challenged Broly to reclaim his status as Big Brother, but lost every contest and ended up recognizing Broly as his Big Brother.

  • Rideriel treated Broly and the children to food after Broly drank the Red Leaf Tribe’s juice to reduce the bitterness in his mouth, and Broly awkwardly described how he had rescued Rivarina.
  • The children helped fish in a nearby Mangrove Forest, then fought with Red Leaf Tribe children over whether they had stolen fish; Rideriel let the children settle the dispute themselves.
  • Broly carried several Danger Beasts back from Jiffonora Sea Tree Forest, winning the Red Leaf Tribe’s children over and helping the two groups become friends.
  • Riparip challenged Broly in contests of strength, speed, lung capacity, and other abilities, but lost every time and called Broly his Big Brother.
  • Broly became the children’s admired Big Brother, while Akame and Kurome’s Happiness Value rose from playing the games.

Ch. 38Separation

Broly declined Rideriel’s offer to become chief of the Red Leaf Tribe and prepared to leave with the children who wanted to return home. He departed with fourteen companions, carrying a map and pearls, while the others stayed behind; Broly then thought about finding wives elsewhere.

  • Rideriel invited Broly to become Tribal Chief, but Broly said he could not stay and wanted to take the children who wished to return home with him.
  • Broly gathered an enormous number of Freshwater Clam Pearls, and the children discussed who would stay or leave.
  • Rideriel gave Broly an old map of the Empire and pearls for the journey, and Nahash used the map to locate Green’s approximate home.
  • Broly moved a vast stretch of mangrove forest to expand the Red Leaf Tribe’s territory, then accepted the tribe’s largest boat.
  • Broly and fourteen companions departed as the children who stayed behind said farewell.
  • Green asked Nahash whether he was a noble, and Broly thought he could find wives somewhere else.

Ch. 39Wholesome Local Customs

Broly’s caravan reached a border city where lax inspections, banditry, and discrimination shaped local trade. After the children enjoyed a meal, a starving street girl cautiously asked a diner for his leftover bun wrappers.

  • Broly and his companions reached the Border Pass, where Nahash explained that a fee could bypass inspections and described the city’s rival merchant groups and prejudice against different races.
  • Broly told the subdued bandits not to hurt anyone, then led the children into a noodle shop and ordered a hundred bowls.
  • Broly and the other children ate their fill while homeless children nearby watched and hoped for scraps.
  • A filthy-scarfed girl approached a customer at the Steamed Bun Shop and politely asked for the bun wrappers he had left on his plate.

Ch. 40Street Children and Mine

Mine, a homeless mixed-blood girl, was beaten by street children who resented her for receiving food and tried to destroy her mother’s headscarf. Broly and his companions rescued her and returned the scarf, but Mine fainted.

  • A customer bought Mine a meat bun, and she ate it before continuing through the streets alone.
  • Street children cornered Mine, exposed her pink hair, beat her, and tried to take her headscarf.
  • Broly, Akame, Kurome, and the others confronted the bullies and quickly defeated them.
  • Broly demanded the headscarf back and returned it to Mine.
  • Mine thanked Broly, held the headscarf close, and fainted.
