Background / History

Wang Feng entered the Sun Moon Sword Sect three years before meeting Yang Chen and Zhu Xi. He initially approached the two newcomers as a broker, offering better Labor Disciple assignments and favorable relations with supervisors in return for Spirit Crystals. To establish his credibility, he introduced them to his elder brother, Area 8 supervisor Wang Kui. 3

He continued to profit from his sect connections by selling Yang Chen and Zhu Xi Sound Transmission Bamboos, while revealing that his sister had influence in the Outer Sect. 5 He also became an information source for Yang Chen, explaining the Hemp-Clad Society's long-running interception of excess spiritual energy from Nineteenth Peak's spirit fields. 14

After Yang Chen entered the cultivation rankings, Wang Feng reassessed his potential. He waived Yang Chen's outstanding debt and intervened when Zhou Tao attempted to cause trouble for him. 20 Wang Feng later assisted Wang Kui in apprehending Zhou Tao over the spirit-field sabotage case, intercepting Zhou Tao's attempted Sound Transmission Bamboo call for help. 25 26

Wang Kui's failed Outer Sect advancement forced him to leave the sect. Wang Feng was named his successor as Area 8's spirit-field supervisor, but lost the position after refusing new steward Chen Jinhai's demand for 30 Spirit Crystals. As Yang Chen's conflicts with Zhou Han and Pei Yunfei escalated, Wang Feng supplied information and contacted his sister Wang Xuan to investigate Pei Yunfei's background. 43 98 99 Before the Outer Sect assessment, he and Yang Chen met as friends; Wang Feng expected to break through within another month and intended to qualify using a perfected Low-grade Sword Technique. 111

His usual easygoing smile disappears when sect rules are violated. During Zhou Tao's capture, he acts sternly and decisively, preventing Zhou Tao from contacting his brother for assistance. 26 He is also realistic about his own pace of cultivation and remains content pursuing the Outer Sect through steady progress rather than comparing himself to Yang Chen's exceptional advancement. 111
