"Although this Dark Energy Detector was damaged, and though you call it an outdated version that came from the academy, it still contains a small amount of Dark Iron."

After patiently explaining, Yuan took several particles into his palm.

He studied them closely with anticipation in his eyes. Dark Energy surged continuously in his hand as he sensed its differences from—and connection to—the primary material world.

"Though the information you collected about the God-making civilizations is scarce and superficial, some of it is still enlightening. For example, using vast resources to construct a Dark Dimension, or the existence of a Dark Matter Computer."

"Although I do not know the properties of Dark Iron and other Dark Matter, I imagine a small collision of Dark Energy should not destroy it."

Then he raised the particles slightly and said to Cole, "Look. What an incredible substance. It can actually be used to create gods!"

"Huh? Even you do not know? What if you guess wrong?" Yuan's words left Cole momentarily speechless.

"What if I do? Then I guessed wrong. It was already broken anyway. You were not planning to modify it for your own use, were you?" That familiar smile appeared on Yuan's face again, making Cole deeply embarrassed.

"Forget it. I cannot help you much here. I should go see how Bruis and the others are preparing."

With that, he fled the command center as though escaping for his life.

Once Cole had left, Yuan's smile faded. He had achieved the purpose of this trip. Other than him, no one remained in the warship's command center.

He leaned back in his chair as massive streams of data flowed across his faceplate once more.

Yuan's Divine Body was not like those of the gods from other God-making civilizations. He did not possess a complete Dark Dimension, nor did he have a well-developed Operating System, much less the functional plugins written and built into one.

Thus, he had no convenient means of reading dark information, such as the Angel Civilization's Eye of Insight or Dark Eye. He could not use any of them.

But a living man would not die from holding his piss. After obtaining the Dark Iron, he began implanting one of the particles into the core Computing Unit of his Commander's Battle Armor.

Once he had completed the initial modifications to the Computing Unit, he could begin writing data into it.

The data flowing across his faceplate was precisely Yuan writing a new computer Operating System of his own.

The armor's Computing Unit was constrained by the Taotie Civilization. Its materials conflicted with Dark Energy in terms of their properties.

However, after Dark Iron had been integrated into the computing core, this weakness would be eliminated as the new computational program began running.

Before long, Yuan's faceplate returned to stillness.

"Buzz! System writing complete. Beginning self-check."

"Self-check complete. Please rename the system."

Yuan's fingers tapping on the table paused slightly. Then he slowly opened his mouth and said:

"Enlightenment!"

"Name confirmed. Welcome. Please issue your command, Master!"

"Check the operating speed. Attempt to connect to the Dark Dimension. Call upon Dark Energy."

"Beginning check. Ten percent, forty percent, one hundred percent. Check complete."

"No database support. Unable to provide specific operating speed data. Performing comparative speed check. One hundred times faster than the original system, and twenty times faster than the Taotie warship central system's computing cloud."

"Attempting to connect to the Dark Dimension. Connection failed. Attempting to call upon Dark Energy. Call failed."

"Command complete!"

"Why can't it connect to the Dark Dimension?" Yuan frowned.

"System check: no database support. Unable to provide an information report."

"No database? Then connect to the warship central system database. Record all data and build a database of our own."

"Command received. Enlightenment is starting. Connecting to the warship data center."

"Warning. Enlightenment's computational speed exceeds that of the warship central system by twenty times."

"Based on the current input speed, the target will experience overload within two minutes."

"Is there a way to eliminate that?" Yuan asked softly.

"Insufficient database support. Enlightenment cannot provide relevant information."

Enlightenment's answer made the fingers tapping on the table pause elegantly again. Yuan's face was full of speechlessness.

It was only an Astral Civilization, after all. The Taotie programming language truly was not suited for use with Dark Energy. Though its computational speed had increased a hundredfold, why did it feel so brain-dead?

Then Yuan thought of something. Green streams of data began flowing across his faceplate again. No database? Then I'll write one myself. That should work, right?

"Enlightenment, reestablish the information connection with the central system database. Distribute computational power evenly, and secretly use a small portion of the warship's Backup Energy for cooling."

"Command received. Algorithm support detected. Beginning computational power allocation."

"Allocation complete. System connection stable. Continuing data input."

"Activating a small amount of the warship's Backup Energy. Connecting circuits. Connection complete."

"Data input in progress."

"Ten percent."

"Thirteen percent."

"Fifteen percent..."

Enlightenment's progress updates continued ringing in his ears, while Yuan remained utterly still in the command chair, simply sitting there in silence.

"Ding! Warning! Database input algorithm interrupted. Beginning system check."

"What happened?" Yuan frowned slightly. He had not expected even simple data input to be so difficult.

"System check complete. Based on existing data, the probable cause is as follows: the Enlightenment system was built upon the armor's original Computing Unit. Although Master integrated Dark Iron into the computing core, Enlightenment occupies most of the storage units."

"The armor's remaining storage units are no longer sufficient to store the data in the warship's computing cloud."

Hearing Enlightenment's answer, Yuan shook his head unwillingly. He had originally wanted to save a few Dark Iron particles, but now he had no choice.

"Whether repairing the warship and leaving the Styx Galaxy, or building a Dark Matter Computer and Operating System for my Divine Body, database and computational support are indispensable."

"You can't catch a wolf without sacrificing a child. I must understand the contingency plan the Taotie hid away. I'm going all in."

After making his decision, Yuan took out the remaining three particles and followed the same method, integrating them into the armor's storage units.

"New storage units detected. Enlightenment system restarting. Maintaining connection to the central system database. Continuing data input."

"Fifteen percent, twenty percent..."

Very soon, a pleasant mechanical voice sounded in his ear.

"Database input complete. Shut down computational power allocation. Disconnect from the central system database. Disable Backup Energy intervention." Yuan's expression brightened. Half the purpose of this trip had been accomplished.

"Enlightenment, compare the original armor's data with the learning records from the zs-9462 external interface. Reorganize the database and establish our own database."

"Command received. Reorganizing database and establishing a new database model. Checking original armor data. Checking original zs-9462 external interface learning records."

"Check complete. Rebuilding data model. Armor energy consumption is increasing. Master, please replenish energy promptly."

"Disable the Taotie warship engine standby mode. Activate ten percent of the Stellar Furnace's power. Route the energy to the command center and recharge the armor."

"Command received. Enlightenment is carrying out Master's command. Warship engine standby mode disabled. Stellar Furnace power increased to ten percent."

"Stellar Furnace detected to be lacking fusion energy material. Automatic replenishment beginning!"

"Replenishment progress: thirty percent, seventy percent, one hundred percent. Replenishment complete. Stellar Furnace fusion material replenished. Energy center beginning supply."

Yuan was having a great time, but the Taotie soldiers collecting resources felt like they were about to go insane.

"Damn it, where are the Fusion Materials I just hauled over? You beasts! You beasts! You didn't even leave me a scrap!"

(Please support me, brothers, sisters, and esteemed readers. If you think this is decent enough, shamelessly asking for a reward. Even sending some power would be great. Thank you for your support! Many thanks!)
