No One Would Use It!

Bruis pointed at himself in disbelief. He was just a regular science officer on a warship, how could he possibly operate these things?

"What? These are the crystallized knowledge of the Taotie Civilization. Don't you want to learn more about them?" Yuan chuckled softly, looking at the bewildered Bruis.

"It's not that, it's just..."

"That's all that matters. Work hard!"

"Yes, I will definitely work hard." Yuan's encouraging words excited Bruis, and he instantly felt filled with strength.

"Hmm???"

Cole eyed them suspiciously, muttering to himself, He seems to value Bruis a lot? No, I need to have a good talk with him sometime.

Cole's thoughts were correct, but rather than valuing him, it was more like admiration.

Compared to Cole's utilitarianism and violent nature, Yuan appreciated Bruis as a science officer more. Perhaps this was the resonance between scholars.

Not to mention that Bruis had previously feigned ignorance and interrupted a potential conflict between Yuan and Cole, which made Yuan think highly of him.

After handing the Particle Catcher and Accelerator to Bruis, Yuan focused his attention on the central system.

A holographic projection unfolded before Yuan, with over a dozen small light screens interwoven into a massive network.

Countless data and information flowed and combined on it, quickly organized by Yuan as if untangling a messy ball of yarn.

Numerous codes merged, and each time a complete logical chain was formed, it emitted a beautiful blue light.

"Sigh, the Taotie's language editing is still not suitable for a supercomputer's logic core. Simple, crude, and brute force isn't suitable for precise underlying logic."

As the logical chains ran, several light screens suddenly turned white, as if stuck in a loop.

"No fault tolerance, no balance, all brute force. It's difficult!"

Cole had been focused on Yuan the whole time, and his face flushed upon hearing his evaluation.

However, Yuan didn't seem to mind. He casually shattered the logic chains that had fallen into chaos and started editing again.

Anyway, this supercomputer wouldn't be used for too long; it just needed to be functional.

Soon, the underlying logic compilation for the new supercomputer was complete. Yuan let out a long sigh, and Bruis's happy shout reached his ears.

"Your Excellency, Your Excellency. It's done, we did it."

Saying that, he stopped the Accelerator and carefully manipulated the robotic arm to extract the blue core, which was enveloped in an energy field.

"Very good, Bruis, well done." Then, he took out a pre-prepared Computing Unit from the supply box.

He removed the outdated processing core and then modified an energy field maintenance device to be installed.

"Here, put it in."

At Yuan's gesture, Bruis carefully brought the blue core over.

Following the direction of Yuan's finger, he slowly placed it inside.

A few faint mechanical sounds rang out. The blue core, enveloped by the energy field, landed on the photonic panel along with the energy field, flashing with a faint blue light.

"Begin connecting to the Stellar Furnace and bring in the energy."

"Buzz!"

As the energy was connected, the new computing core began to operate. After a soft hum, the entire computing unit slowly floated up.

The Taotie soldiers stood in place, watching expectantly as the computing unit floated in the direction Yuan pointed.

After a while, the entire computing unit hovered above the central system. Then, with a slight tremor, an invisible quantum light signal connected to the central system.

"Alert! Unknown signal detected."

"Disengage alert, this signal is an external supercomputer."

"Alert disengaged, signal reception complete. Commander, please grant permissions."

Then, Cole looked towards Yuan.

"Don't just stare? Share your permissions with it, it's not my stuff anyway."

"Oh, okay. System, share all my permissions with the computing unit." Cole mimicked Yuan's tone and issued the command to the central system.

He ignored the strange looks from the Taotie soldiers and instead looked at the hovering computing unit with righteous eyes.

"..."

"Ding! Authorizer information confirmed: Commander Cole, Permissions confirmed: Highest Authority. Supercomputer access, permission granting complete."

"Alright, the rest is my job."

Everyone's eyes widened as they watched a blue light chip, no larger than three inches, appear in Yuan's hand. It then flew towards the core of the hovering computing unit.

The hovering computing unit's blue light flared intensely, and for a moment, it felt as if everyone heard the sound of melting snow.

It was that card, melting into the computing core like white snow meeting a dazzling sun. Then, a mechanical voice sounded.

"Quantum Computer initiated. Performing logic self-check."

"Self-check complete. Connected to central system database. System status is optimal."

"Supercomputer, check the operating speed," Yuan said, his voice devoid of any ripple. Simultaneously, the supercomputer began a new round of self-checks.

"Authorization detected: Your Excellency Yuan. Supercomputer commencing computational power detection."

"Computational power detection successful. Operating speed is 3 times that of the central system, with 1/4 the energy consumption."

"Heh, it succeeded."

"Whoa!"

As Yuan confirmed, the hall erupted in thunderous cheers, whistles echoing one after another.

Among them, Cole, who had been longing to leave this godforsaken place, was particularly ecstatic.

"Quiet, quiet, all of you, be quiet!" Although overjoyed, Cole suppressed his elation out of the highest commander's reserve.

After all, they hadn't left this damned place yet, and danger still lurked.

"Your Excellency, what do we do next?"

"Simple! Clap!"

Saying that, Yuan lightly clapped his hands. The computing units that had been suspended landed beside the central system.

Familiar data streams surged wildly across the tactical visor, and new files appeared in the central system.

"Activate the repair units and grant them permission to inspect the entire warship."

"Permission confirmed, Yuan. Permission granted."

"Dong!"

Yuan's finger lightly tapped the control panel on the command console, and a complete 3D projection of the warship was displayed.

When he released his hand, the entire warship projection was rapidly enlarged. Immediately after, Yuan began issuing commands.

"Repair units, activate self-check function."

"Repair units activated. Performing overall warship scan."

"Ding! Scan complete. Detected hull cracks, weapon systems offline, life support systems offline, medical systems offline, one engine remaining functional, energy core intact, central system intact, VR room repaired..."

"Tsk tsk tsk!!!"

Amidst the cold report, something seemed to have been inserted. Cole looked at Yuan's gaze and wished he could bury his head in the warship.

"Begin marking all issues."

"Ding, marking complete. Dispatched to projection."

As the repair units marked the issues, the blue warship projection was covered in dense red markers. The sheer number was enough to induce trypophobia.

"Whoa, there are quite a lot. No need for such a fuss. Remove all areas that do not affect the warship's normal flight, except for the weapon systems."

Immediately, half of the red markers on the projection disappeared.

"Access the database and begin gathering data for the equipment in the corresponding marked areas."

"Information is vast. The central system's data lacks this capability. Supercomputer's processing power is required for intervention. The weapon systems need sufficient energy support."

Then, massive amounts of data were rapidly retrieved, and even digital sequencing was applied to each red marker.

At this point, Cole was dumbfounded.

"This thing? This thing is too damn useful! So much better than that central system. That thing is an idiot, even a dog wouldn't use it!"

"Alright, stop the nonsense and let's begin."

"Huh? Do we still have a part to play?"

"Nonsense, go mine!"
