History

Kaido founded the Beasts Pirates after meeting King at Punk Hazard. The crew entered the New World later than other former members of the Rocks Pirates and initially held three relatively poor islands. It grew by defeating other pirate crews and absorbing their members 20 40. Within roughly a year of its founding, it had more than 500 members, five large ships, and ten small ships 20.

Kaido’s victory over Ra brought her, Oshi, and Obe into the crew 16. A subsequent campaign took Fenrir Island and its surrounding territory from John’s forces. After incorporating defeated pirates, the Beasts held 18 islands in total and had more than 1,000 members 57 83.

Rapid expansion left the crew short of personnel, ships, and usable ammunition. Ra proposed developing its territory and trade rather than relying chiefly on plunder. Her longer-term World War Plan called for weapons production, dominance of the arms market, and ultimately influence over wars; Kaido approved its direction 85 86 87 88.

The crew later grew beyond 10,000 official members, with more than a dozen subordinate pirate crews. Its factories, research bases, shipyards, and other operations remained deeply rooted in the Fenrir sea area when Kaido considered a move to Wano Country 288. The Beasts landed in Wano at the end of Marine Era 1496 under an agreement with Shogun Orochi involving land, resources, and weapons factories 293 351 361.

Organization

• Fenrir Island — Core stronghold, housing the general treasury and material and weapons warehouses 108.
• Subordinate crews — Could retain their existing structure; the Foll Pirates joined intact and were stationed as an affiliated force 102 108.
• Administration — Wright became the crew’s “Grand Secretary,” managing internal and external affairs 277.
• Recruitment — Oshi used her ability to detect lies while screening prospective members 111.

Territory and Industry

• Fenrir’s resources — The island had sulfur, copper, and lead deposits; the surrounding islands produced food and seafood for trade 83.
• Beasts Heavy Industries — Produced revolvers and ammunition, then expanded into additional arsenals and semi-automatic firearms 173 220 277.
• Arms market — Wright reported an 80% share of the New World weapons market; later accounts describe the Beasts’ weapons as monopolizing it 277 377.
• External sales — The crew gained routes into the Four Seas and the first half of the Grand Line, and the Marines later signed a long-term weapons contract 208 377.
• Wano development — Willy was assigned to oversee its economic development, while Wright’s team planned a broader industrial chain suited to Wano’s regions 377 387.

Relationships and Conflicts

• Big Mom Pirates — Allied with the Beasts during the campaign against Hachinosu. Big Mom later gained a share of future arms profits and helped extend sales beyond the New World 47 208.
• Flying Pirates — Joined the Hachinosu alliance under Shiki, though tension existed between him and Kaido 47.
• Whitebeard Pirates — Clashed with Beasts executives; after a confrontation involving Kaido and Oshi, Whitebeard ordered compensation for cargo stolen by his affiliates 153 155.
• Wald Pirates — Fought Kaido and a Beasts fleet near Fenrir; the fleet’s cannon fire badly damaged Wald’s ship 225 228.
• Wano’s shogunate — Orochi permitted the Beasts to settle and build weapons factories in exchange for help against rebellious samurai and daimyos; Kaido agreed to share weapons-sale profits with him 293 351 372.

Reputation

• Among pirates, the Beasts became a rising overlord and drew prospective recruits from the Four Seas and Paradise 335.
• Among ordinary people, its reputation suffered because Beasts Heavy Industries weapons were used to kill across the seas 335.
• Early occupation of at least one town involved theft and abuse by crew members. Burufatt imposed local-law compliance there and punished pirates who preyed on civilians 65.
