Background

Wade was originally an elite mercenary who awakened mutant abilities and was recruited by William Stryker into X-Force. Although he carried pistols, his shooting was inferior to Agent Zero's; his real specialty was dual-blade swordsmanship. His physical strength and superhuman reactions let him intercept bullets by reading an opponent's muzzle direction and moving his blades into their path 477 482.

Initially convinced that no swordsman could match him, Wade challenged Chen Mo after seeing him draw dual katanas. Chen Mo overwhelmed him even while holding back, but the pressure of their duel finally pushed Wade's long-stagnant swordsmanship forward. Rather than resent the defeat, Wade asked Chen Mo to use his full strength and became determined to learn from him 480 481.

After Chen Mo took command of X-Force, Wade was the first member to approach him for instruction. He openly accepted Chen Mo as his master and diligently studied Gun Fu swordsmanship, abandoning his usual chatter during training to focus on technique 490 491. Despite his bloody fighting style, Wade is kind-hearted toward ordinary people. His victims are criminals and their henchmen, and he does not harm civilians 490.
