Tang Chen was the former sect master and ancestor of the Clear Sky Sect, renowned as an undefeated powerhouse of an earlier generation. He was regarded as a figure capable of suppressing Qian Daoliu and was one of the contenders for Bo Saixi's affection; Bo Saixi ultimately chose him over Qian Daoliu. 392 413

During his pursuit of greater power, Tang Chen fell under the parasitic influence of the Blood Red Nine-Headed Bat King and became the Slaughter King of Slaughter City. The parasite progressively drained his body and warped his mind, leaving him driven by bloodlust, greed, and lust while increasingly less human. 410 416

When Tang San entered Slaughter City and revealed the Clear Sky Hammer, Tang Chen temporarily regained enough clarity to recognize him as his great-grandson. He taught Tang San the Clear Sky Ultimate Skill, informed him of his Clear Sky Sect heritage, entrusted him with the Asura Divine Sword, and asked him to deliver a message to Bo Saixi. 381

Tang Chen's appearance deteriorated severely under the Blood Red Nine-Headed Bat King's parasitism. By his return to the Clear Sky Sect, he concealed himself beneath a black cloak and emanated a bloody aura of slaughter. 414

Before his fall, Tang Chen was proud, wild, and powerful enough to win Bo Saixi's heart and overshadow Qian Daoliu. Even after becoming the Slaughter King, he remained deeply arrogant, repeatedly belittling Qian Daoliu as inferior in both strength and love. 412 415

The Bat King's influence magnified his worst impulses. He became ruthless toward allies, predatory toward subordinates, and willing to sacrifice his own body and Soul Rings for victory. His ambition extended beyond preserving Slaughter City: he intended to merge it with the Clear Sky Sect and expand its influence across the continent. 415 416 417

Despite his degeneration, Tang Chen showed preferential trust toward Tang San due to their blood relationship. He welcomed Tang San back to Slaughter City, reacted angrily to the loss of the Asura Divine Sword, and accepted plans to return to the Clear Sky Sect. 381 410

Tang Chen encountered Tang San in Slaughter City after Tang San displayed the Clear Sky Hammer in the Hell Slaughter Arena. He recognized Tang San as his great-grandson, imparted the Clear Sky Ultimate Skill, and positioned him as an heir connected to both the Clear Sky Sect and the Asura God's Trial. 381

Exposure as the Slaughter King

Tang San and Tang Yuehua attempted to invoke Tang Chen's name to support the Clear Sky Sect's restoration. Lin Xiao countered by publicizing that the sect's ancestor was the Slaughter King, turning Tang Chen's feared reputation into a political liability. 392

Return to the Clear Sky Sect

Tang Chen employed Slaughtering Descent and Ring Detonation, but Qian Daoliu exploited his aerial advantage and prior knowledge of the technique. Qian Daoliu pierced Tang Chen through the chest and critically injured both him and the Bat King with angelic purification power. 417 418

Flight to the Sea

Maimed and unable to regenerate quickly, Tang Chen fled toward the sea in hopes that Bo Saixi could save him. Lin Xiao pursued him across thousands of miles and suppressed him at the shoreline, where Bo Saixi appeared and prevented Tang Chen from detonating his remaining Soul Rings. 418 419
