Aburame Tetsumaru built the Aburame Clan’s insect-based strength through the Second Shinobi World War, fighting Sunagakure and Sky Village with increasingly powerful techniques and forces. After Konoha defeated the Aerial Fortresses, Elder Shihui asked Tetsumaru to look after the Aburame Clan and its branch family ninja.

Arc 1Insects at the Front

Aburame Tetsumaru built the Aburame Clan’s Ant Sugar business, developed new insect-based techniques, and entered the Second Shinobi World War. After surviving battles and expanding his control over Ninja Insects, he discovered his squad was surrounded by Sunagakure forces.

  • Aburame Tetsumaru used his knowledge of insects to establish the Ant Sugar business, bringing income to the Aburame Clan and food to its orphans.

Arc 2The Poisoned Front

Aburame Tetsumaru survived escalating battles in the Land of Rain, developed new insect techniques, and lost his squadmates as the war reshaped Konoha’s command. After Nawaki’s death and the spread of Hanzo’s poison, Konoha and Suna retreated while Tetsumaru turned the poison campaign into a contest of attrition.

  • Aburame Tetsumaru returned from reconnaissance, encountered Rōshi’s forces, and witnessed the Four-Tails battle end with Dan Katō’s phantom striking through him.
  • Aburame Tetsumaru recovered, bred Mineral Insects, built a summoning array, and formed a squad with Uchiha Kei and Kurama Yun for missions against Suna and Iwa.

Arc 3The Insect Tide Campaign

Aburame Tetsumaru developed his giant insects and built an extensive network to defend Konoha’s position in the Land of Rivers. As Sunagakure’s forces advanced, he led Team 121 in supply-line attacks and began a major assault on a Suna squad, leaving the battle underway as giant Mantises emerged.

  • Tetsumaru fought Rain Ninja, survived the Third Raikage’s pursuit, and later led a destructive insect assault before Hanzo defeated the Sannin and Konoha withdrew.
  • Tetsumaru trained new Genin, became a Jonin captain, and developed giant insects and relay networks as Konoha prepared to fight Sunagakure in the Land of Rivers.
  • Tetsumaru took command of Team 121 and trained Uchiha Hiroshi, Inuzuka O, and Nara Yoshino, then established Mother Hives and signal stations across his assigned defensive zone.

Arc 4War and the Aerial Fortresses

Aburame Tetsumaru helped turn the war against Sunagakure, then joined Konoha’s campaign to destroy Sky Village’s Aerial Fortresses. After the wars, Elder Shihui asked Tetsumaru to look after the Aburame Clan and its branch family ninja.

  • Aburame Tetsumaru used insect warfare to devastate Sunagakure’s forces, survived a prolonged battle with the Kazekage, and led his students through the retreat.
  • Hatake Sakumo and Orochimaru destroyed Sunagakure’s last supply convoy, and the Kazekage withdrew as Konoha pressed the advantage and forced a ceasefire.
  • Aburame Tetsumaru discovered a Giant Ant colony, then returned to help attack Sunagakure before Konoha withdrew to face the Sky Village threat.
  • Aburame Tetsumaru’s insect force helped repel an attack by the Sky Village’s Aerial Fortress, and Konoha identified Namikaze Minato among the planners preparing to strike Sky Village.
