Background / History
Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village as Tang Hao's son. Although he possesses Innate Level 8 Soul Power, his family’s poverty leaves him dependent on a Work-Study Student placement arranged through Su Yuntao. He resents the arrangement as charity and resolves never to rely on others’ handouts again. 10
After awakening Blue Silver Grass, Tang San secretly reveals his second Martial Soul, the Clear Sky Hammer, to Tang Hao. Tang Hao permits him to attend Notting Junior Spirit Academy but warns him to conceal his Twin Martial Souls. Tang San realizes that Zhu Rong may have witnessed the secret during their awakening, beginning his sustained hostility toward him. 2
Tang Hao gives Tang San a Mandala Snake Torso Soul Bone and a Soft Bone Rabbit right-arm Soul Bone to narrow the gap between him and Zhu Rong. The fusions raise Tang San to Level 10, improve his physical abilities, and grant him Entanglement and one-meter Teleportation. 26 27 28
At Nuoding, Tang San defeats the academy gatekeeper after being mocked for having Blue Silver Grass, then becomes Yu Xiaogang’s disciple. He later reveals the Clear Sky Hammer to Yu Xiaogang, who recognizes both Tang San’s lineage and Tang Hao’s identity as the Clear Sky Douluo. 36 47
Tang San’s rivalry with Zhu Rong repeatedly escalates from childhood sparring into open conflict. Zhu Rong’s overwhelming strength, repeated interference with Tang San’s Martial Soul mutation, and eventual seizure of Tang San’s right-arm Soul Bone drive Tang San to pursue power through both Martial Souls. 31 86 173 176
Appearance
Tang San was initially thin and weak-looking, though the Mandala Snake Torso Soul Bone makes him visibly taller and sturdier. 27
- Has lost his right arm along with its attached Soul Bone. 173 175
- During his uncontrolled dark mutation, his pupils become pitch-black and his Blue Silver Grass turns black. 174
- His Blue Silver Grass later manifests as the Dark Blue Silver King. 176
- Wields a Clear Sky Hammer weighing over two thousand jin. 190 201
Personality
Tang San is intensely proud and deeply sensitive to humiliation. He refuses what he sees as charity, reacts strongly to insults toward his background or Martial Soul, and repeatedly vows revenge against those he believes have wronged him. 10 49 188
He is calculating in combat, favoring positioning, concealed weapons, and observation of an opponent’s weaknesses. His caution develops after repeated losses to Zhu Rong, though this strategic instinct is often undermined by his resentment and tendency to overestimate his own future strength. 38 142 201
Tang San is persistent even after severe setbacks. Losing his arm and Teleportation Soul Bone does not deter him; instead, he immediately seeks another Spirit Ring and decides to cultivate the Clear Sky Hammer alongside his mutated Blue Silver Grass. 175 176
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses two Martial Souls: the Dark Blue Silver King and the Clear Sky Hammer. He initially concealed the latter from everyone except Tang Hao, later revealing it to Yu Xiaogang, Dai Mubai, and Ru Meng. 2 47 176
