Lin Feng logged into the Trisolaran game and was met with a desolate landscape. There were no buildings, no vegetation, only vast expanses of wind and sand as far as the eye could see.
The sky was overcast, making it impossible to see the sun. Only by the sunlight filtering through the gaps in the clouds could one tell if it was day or night.
"It's really changed a lot since last time..."
Lin Feng walked, observing his surroundings. Being in this environment reminded him of his past travels in the Sahara Desert, stirring a sense of nostalgia.
After walking for a short while, Lin Feng spotted a figure not too far ahead.
As he got closer, he saw it was Liang Gong, the Hanfu girl who had been burned alive in front of him last time.
"We meet again, Passerby A."
Liang Gong greeted Lin Feng first.
"Liang Gong, you're resurrected?"
Lin Feng looked her up and down. The Hanfu girl was still wearing the Tang Dynasty Hanfu he'd seen before.
"Hmph, resurrected? I never died in the first place."
The Hanfu girl wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue at Lin Feng.
"Last time I was here, there was lava everywhere. Why is it all sand and wind now? Does this Trisolaran game automatically refresh the map? I thought it would at least replicate ninety percent of reality, if not a hundred." Lin Feng said.
"Refresh what? Lava cools down. This is perfectly normal,"
Liang Gong rolled her eyes and explained the formation of the sandy plains.
"Last time, the planet was at its perihelion with one of the suns. Now, the planet is moving away from all three suns, and the temperature will keep dropping. In a while, you'll see vast stretches of dry ice and snow."
"Snow? Forget it, I've seen enough of that in Antarctica. I'm tired of it."
"I don't want to see any snow. I came into the game to experience unique things, like the large pendulum, the Human Computer, the Armillary Sphere, and so on."
Lin Feng stated his intentions, hoping Liang Gong would act as his guide, as the game map was too vast.
Liang Gong nodded in understanding and then, as a matter of course, extended her hand to Lin Feng, demanding something.
"Then give it to me."
"What?"
Lin Feng was taken aback, not immediately understanding what Liang Gong was referring to.
"Don't be ridiculous. Other guides get paid, they get tips. Are you expecting me to work for free?"
The Hanfu girl pouted, hands on her hips, her almond eyes wide as she glared at Lin Feng.
"Uh, well... that does make sense."
Lin Feng scratched his cheek, not entirely accepting it. After all, this was a game, not reality. More importantly, he always played games for free, and paying Liang Gong a guide fee would break his free-to-play tradition.
"Exactly! Stop babbling. If you don't pay me, I'm leaving!"
Seeing Lin Feng's reluctant expression, Liang Gong turned to leave.
"Alright, alright. Give me your bank account number. I'll transfer it to you in reality. Is that okay?"
Lin Feng finally compromised with Liang Gong.
"That's more like it."
The two walked across the sandy plains. The Hanfu girl, like a victorious general, walked ahead with her head held high, humming a tune and skipping, just as they had been when they first met.
"Where's our first stop?" Lin Feng asked.
"The Pyramid. It's closer to here," the girl replied.
An hour earlier, in the Trisolaran game world.
The Hanfu girl stood on the altar of the Pyramid, a square window floating before her. The window was playing a live feed of Lin Feng's living room.
Lin Feng's conversation with Taylor's team was clearly audible to Liang Gong.
It wasn't just the United Nations that was monitoring Lin Feng's other 'Wallfacer plans.' Other Wallfacers, with the exception of Luo Ji, might have relaxed their surveillance.
But Lin Feng, ever since he revealed that 'he had other plans,' had his surveillance level raised to match Luo Ji's.
The Trisolarans couldn't be sure if Lin Feng's 'other plans' included the Dark Forest Deterrence, which they feared the most.
"He's looking this way!"
The Hanfu girl was startled. In the video feed, Lin Feng's gaze met Liang Gong's outside the window. It was as if he possessed superpowers, his gaze piercing through the window to see her.
"No, that's impossible! He's bluffing!"
The Hanfu girl calmed down in the next moment, because she knew Lin Feng had no superpowers, couldn't reverse-engineer a Sophon, and couldn't possibly see her now.
Lin Feng's words had caught Liang Gong's attention.
"The timing?"
"What timing?"
Liang Gong murmured to herself, frowning and falling into thought.
The frown on the Hanfu girl's face suddenly smoothed out.
"Wait! Could it be..."
In an instant, Liang Gong seemed to understand something.
After her previous plan was broken, and forced to give up the initiative, the Wallfacer not only didn't prepare other plans, but instead entered the Three-Body game.
I ask you, is a Wallfacer idle?
The answer is no. Except for Luo Ji, who hasn't found his direction yet, whether it's Manuel Diaz, or Bill Hines, or even Frederick Taylor, who has already been broken, they are all very busy.
A Wallfacer going into the Three-Body game, is it just to play?
No, it can't be. Wallfacers are best at deceiving and lying!
If necessary, they even use actions to complete their lies. Everything about them is full of lies and misdirection!
"Assuming that one of Wallfacer Feng Taylor's plans requires the use of the Three-Body game world to be completed, then... the 'timing' he mentioned should match up."
"But, what's the point of doing this?"
"In this game, is there something hidden that can resist the Trisolaran fleet? That's impossible..."
"Or is it to disintegrate the ETO? But that's also impossible..."
The Hanfu girl racked her brain but couldn't come up with anything.
"Regardless, he should enter the Three-Body game again. If he doesn't, it means I was wrong. If he does, it means I was right."
"I must figure out Feng Taylor's true purpose for entering the Three-Body game."
"Guide, can you be a little more professional? Other guides at least introduce the history and legends of the attractions, but you've taken my money, can't you learn from them and introduce me, a tourist who doesn't know the historical sites?"
Lin Feng's shout broke the Hanfu girl's train of thought.
"This pyramid has experienced several great civilizations... blah blah blah blah..."
While introducing the pyramid, the Hanfu girl observed Lin Feng's every move intentionally or unintentionally.
Lin Feng's every action was reasonable, just like a tourist traveling, but to Liang Gong, this was the greatest unreasonableness.
Strange, so strange!
Is this guy really here to visit the game?
No, something's not right. This guy is a Wallfacer!
"That's it? It's no different from the pyramids in reality." Lin Feng said with disappointment.
I won't be fooled by you! Feng Taylor!
