Emperor Xue Ye

Xue Ye was regarded as a talented and strategic emperor whose prestige was revered by Heaven Dou’s people. He trained elite troops and young Soul Masters in an unsuccessful long-term effort to retake the provinces controlled by the five autonomous states. 6 153 409

Before his death, Xue Ye secretly ordered the Royal Judgement Guard to recognize Fang Xuan as his successor if Fang Xuan overcame the Martial Soul Hall forces controlling the palace. 404

Palace Coup and Fang Xuan’s Ascension

The imperial palace fell into crisis when Crown Prince Xue Qinghe was exposed as an impostor from Martial Soul Hall. Xue Ye died during the upheaval, while much of the palace was destroyed and many imperial Soul Masters were killed or injured. 405

Prince Xue Xing briefly controlled the Imperial Guards, Royal Knights, ministers, and reconstruction effort as acting regent, intending to enthrone Xue Beng. 406 Fang Xuan interrupted Xue Beng’s enthronement, produced Xue Ye’s Imperial Edict of Succession, displayed ten hundred-thousand-year Soul Rings, and declared himself emperor. 406 After Xue Xing, Xue Beng, and Elder Jue resisted, Fang Xuan eliminated the opposition and began a new era of rule. 407

Heaven Dou Royal Judgement Guard

The Heaven Dou Royal Judgement Guard is the empire’s highest-level secret unit. It answers directly to the emperor and primarily serves as the emperor’s personal guard; even many ministers, dukes, and princes are unaware of its existence. 404

History

Decline under Xue Ye

Despite Xue Ye’s reputation and military preparations, Heaven Dou gradually lost effective control over half of its ten provinces. The four kingdoms and one duchy under its banner functioned as independent powers, making coordinated reconquest difficult. 409

The empire’s strained position was visible even during the Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. Heaven Dou and Star Luo’s academy match was treated as a direct clash of national prestige, while Star Luo representatives openly claimed superior military power. 213 Fang Xuan’s victory over Star Luo Royal Academy damaged Star Luo’s morale and deterred immediate aggression against Heaven Dou. 214

Conflict with Martial Soul Hall

Martial Soul Hall infiltrated the imperial court through the false Crown Prince Xue Qinghe and ultimately triggered the Heaven Dou Palace Coup. 405 Before the coup, the empire had also severed its longstanding relationship with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, a rupture believed to be connected to internal upheaval. 393 395

Following Fang Xuan’s accession, Martial Soul Hall established the Spirit Hall Empire and ordered all Soul Masters on the continent to submit or face extermination. Heaven Dou, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan convened to determine their response. 426

Fang Xuan expanded Heaven Dou’s army, armed it with Tang San’s hidden weapons, and secured a military alliance with Star Luo. 430 431 432 The allied empires captured Azure Wolf Pass, attacked Martial Soul City, and ultimately defeated the Spirit Hall Empire. Heaven Dou then annexed its territory and absorbed its Soul Master forces. 434 435 440

Foreign Gods Crisis

A century after the war, Qian Renxue ruled a peaceful and prosperous Heaven Dou Empire as Angel God. 450 This stability ended when tens of thousands of Foreign Gods descended upon Douluo Continent, destroying nations and sects across the land. 451

Heaven Dou became the final major line of defense, retaining seven God-level defenders: Fang Xuan, Tang San, Qian Renxue, Xiao Wu, Hu Liena, Ning Rongrong, and Oscar. 453 During the Battle of the Gods, Heaven Dou’s defenders eliminated more than 150 Foreign Gods within imperial territory after three days and nights of fighting. 458 460

The White Emperor subsequently sealed the Space Tunnel used for the invasion and established a restriction barring God-level experts from attacking Heaven Dou. 461 Refugees and Soul Masters from across the continent relocated to the empire, which became regarded as a sanctuary from Foreign Gods. 461 468
