Killing Gu You and Seizing the Divine Armor

"You... how is this possible!"

Gu You gasped for breath, his neck caught in a vice-like grip.

Xiang Tian punched him squarely in the chest, the blow caving in a large hole in his Divine Armor.

Then, Xiang Tian followed up with a kick, sending Gu You flying backward.

After crashing to the ground, Gu You struggled to his feet. Blood was already seeping from beneath his Divine Armor.

"Impossible! Your Dharma Idol was shattered, how can you be completely unharmed!"

Gu You roared, his sanity fraying. This was beyond his comprehension. In his understanding, the destruction of a Dharma Idol, while not as severe as the loss of a Life Artifact, still inflicted immense damage on a cultivator.

Xiang Tian hovered in the air, his eyes filled with mockery. "Who told you that was a Dharma Idol?"

As he spoke, brilliant rays of light erupted behind him. One... then two...

Finally, over a dozen colossal and magnificent phantoms materialized. Each had a unique form and wielded weapons, standing tall against the sky, indistinguishable from Dharma Idols.

Not only Gu You, but even Qiu Changfeng, who was in the void, was stunned. This... this aura was undeniably that of a Dharma Idol! How could this be possible? He had never heard of any cultivator possessing multiple Dharma Idols.

The radiant light obscured the sky. Gu You stared, dumbfounded, at the countless phantom Dharma Idol projections resembling gods and buddhas.

The Abyss Master slammed his fist on the table, his mind made up. He knew then and there that the Black Abyss was destined to lose this encounter. Keeping Gu You there was utterly pointless.

In the Great Wild Mountain Veins, with a thought from Xiang Tian, a Dharma Idol behind him brought its long sword crashing down. A distant mountaintop was flattened, and Gu You's few subordinates were instantly obliterated before they could even utter a sound.

In the blink of an eye, the projection in the Black Abyss conference room, located beneath the Endless Sea, was severed.

"Quick! Send him the message now!"

The Abyss Master grew frantic, roaring in anger.

Meanwhile, in the Great Wild Mountain Veins, Gu You's heart filled with sorrow and his rage burned, his eyes turning crimson.

"Brat, I'll kill you!"

He had gone mad, frantically issuing attack commands to the Convergence Cannon. However, he received an order from headquarters to retreat immediately.

While he hesitated, a Dharma Idol appeared and cleaved the Convergence Cannon in two with a single saber strike.

"Boom!"

The metallic behemoth instantly turned into a pile of scrap metal.

"Ah!"

Gu You could not accept this outcome, letting out a scream.

The Convergence Cannon, one of the Black Abyss's ultimate trump cards, had been destroyed by his own hands. How could he possibly explain this upon his return?

"Don't panic, you're next."

Xiang Tian laughed heartily and charged directly at Gu You.

Forced into a corner, Gu You had no choice but to engage. He hadn't even considered the possibility of a successful retreat.

However, Xiang Tian's methods were truly beyond his ability to resist.

Xiang Tian drew his immortal sword once more and aimed it directly at Gu You's head.

Gu You raised his saber to block.

With a resounding clang, Gu You's legs sank into the ground. The sheer force of the blow created a deep crater around him.

His arms went numb, and his fighting spirit plummeted at an alarming rate.

"Your Divine Armor... I'm quite interested. Mind if I borrow it for a bit?"

Xiang Tian's sword sliced towards Gu You's waist, directly excavating the previously incredibly sturdy controller. He held it in his hand.

Without its controller, Gu You's Divine Armor began to dissipate, revealing a blood-soaked man covered in wounds, his arms twitching uncontrollably.

Xiang Tian bound him tightly with spiritual energy, leaving him alive as he still had a use for him later.

Holding the Divine Armor controller, he pressed the activation switch.

"Warning: Divine Armor is damaged and requires repair. Forced activation may cause the Divine Armor to explode."

Hearing the system prompt, Xiang Tian paused. He was quite curious about such devices, having seen combat records of Sinan Yao, who had used such a thing.

However, if it was damaged, so be it. He could find someone to fix it when he had the time.

"Marve... marvelous."

Seeing that the situation had stabilized, Qiu Changfeng revealed himself. He didn't know what words could adequately describe this battle, but he wisely refrained from asking about the Dharma Idols.

Upon seeing Qiu Changfeng, Xiang Tian smiled slightly. "You've truly gone to great lengths, Dean, to follow and protect me even when you're so busy."

Hearing the word "Dean," Gu You on the ground jolted. So, Qiu Changfeng of Changning Immortal Academy had been observing from the shadows, and he hadn't noticed at all.

He desperately wanted to ask the Abyss Master how he was supposed to fight this battle. Even if he miraculously managed to defeat Xiang Tian, there was still a True Immortal realm cultivator present. A single palm strike from that person could have killed him. Gu You was in despair.

Qiu Changfeng glanced at the guy and asked curiously, "What? Why did you keep this guy around?"

Xiang Tian smiled and glanced at Su Tong lying on the ground, then said to him, "Take a closer look at this girl."

Qiu Changfeng found it strange and began to circulate his divine abilities. He actually discovered a clue.

It seemed there was something implanted in this girl's body, something acquired later. "There's an assistant device inside. I've learned about these things before; they're from the Black Abyss."

"What?"

Still suffering from splitting headaches and disoriented, the three of them were shocked when they recovered and saw the devastation all around them. When they saw Xiang Tian again, they were all incredibly surprised, especially Su Tong, whose eyes were filled with disbelief.

"Heh heh, we were attacked by the Black Abyss. This time, you were wrong to blame me. It must have been the Ding Family's doing. I've implicated everyone."

The Black Abyss?

Hearing those two words, Lou Yi and Du Guang Kang both shivered. How could it be that dreaded organization?

Su Tong's face was deathly pale. She didn't dare to speak at all. She couldn't understand why Gu You had already made a move, yet he hadn't managed to kill Xiang Tian.

Xiang Tian dragged out Gu You from behind him, and Su Tong's pupils dilated sharply.

The eighteenth general of the formidable Black Abyss had fallen to such a state?

"It's this guy. I spared his life specifically to let the three of you vent your anger. Make your move."

Xiang Tian smiled at the three of them, but they didn't move.

How dare they attack someone from the Black Abyss?

Seeing this, Du Guang Kang decided to go all the way and joined in. Only Su Tong remained, trembling all over.

"What's wrong, student Su Tong? Aren't you going to attack?" Xiang Tian asked again. Su Tong suddenly snapped back to reality and looked at Xiang Tian.

She saw that Xiang Tian's face was expressionless, and his eyes showed no emotion whatsoever. Su Tong felt helpless at that moment.

She could only pick up a stone nearby and also throw it at Gu You.

For Lou Yi, this kind of raw, direct method seemed to be the most satisfying way to vent his anger. The other two simply followed suit.

The wailing Gu You didn't last long before he gasped his last breath. Throughout the entire ordeal, Su Tong never uttered a word.

As for the mission or anything else, they didn't mention it again. Their lives had almost been lost; was the mission still important?
