Background / History

Kua Huo was originally a mortal woman used as a tool for the Heavenly Emperor's Crown Prince to undergo a love tribulation in the mortal realm. The Crown Prince reincarnated as an emperor and became entangled in a destructive love-hate relationship with a princess of a fallen kingdom, causing unrest and war. Kua Huo awakened during this storyline, killed the Crown Prince, and ascended to immortality. 174

The Heavenly Emperor attempted to execute her after the failed tribulation, but Kua Huo overwhelmed the Heavenly Court. Unable to defeat her, the Heavenly Emperor surrendered authority over the court. 174

After learning of Shan Jun, the Crown Prince's illegitimate younger brother, Kua Huo extracted his immortal marrow under the pretext of controlling him. Her actual purpose was to use his special physique as a vessel to nurture the Crown Prince's remnant soul, allowing her to revive and torment the Crown Prince across nine lifetimes. 174

Shan Jun later stole eighty percent of Kua Huo's cultivation and fled to the mortal realm.
