Background

Bena comes from a family of chefs and possesses a mutated Chef's Knife Martial Soul. She visited Suotuo City with her sister as a teenager, then became a mercenary familiar with the Star Dou Great Forest and its dangers. 70 84

Li Tianlan hires her as a guide to the valley containing the Purple Orchid Heart Flame. Though she accepts the job, Bena refuses to enter the valley itself because local mercenaries regard it as a land of death where newcomers disappear every year. 37

During the expedition, she becomes part of Li Tianlan and Qian Renxue's group. Her practical mercenary habits are evident after the battle over the Bright Falcon, when she retrieves and claims a valuable soul bone from Taonode's corpse. 43 48
