Though he had not explicitly mentioned the hereditary nature of Werewolf Disease, his carefully polished phrasing had indeed been a little malicious. He had wanted to watch the show, and he had succeeded.
Lupin flew into a rage out of embarrassment, but fortunately, Tonks was delighted to hear that her son had inherited her Metamorphmagus ability. She promptly stopped a certain professor who had been planning to abuse his authority for personal revenge.
For the rest of the gathering, Lupin and Tonks prepared the feast themselves. Harry and Ginny were responsible for watching the swaddled child, while Loren had nothing much to do and could only welcome guests alongside Hermione.
In fact, the closest group of friends had visited on the day the child was born—Tonks's parents, several Hogwarts colleagues, and the Blacks. This time, they had invited those who had been unavailable before, or whose relationship with them had not yet reached that level of intimacy, including Ministry of Magic colleagues, Order of the Phoenix comrades...
There were not many guests, mainly Kingsley Shacklebolt, Mad-Eye Moody, and the like.
Loren and Hermione had only greeted a few familiar-looking wizards they happened to know before Tonks emerged from the Kitchen. The rest of the small talk and hosting duties were handed over to the mistress of the house. As for the master of the house, his years of wandering had left him with superb cooking skills, and he was handling the main course for today's feast.
The aroma from the Kitchen gradually grew richer, while the invited wizards steadily arrived in the courtyard.
