Background and History
Spirit Hall was founded near the Star Dou Great Forest and originally stood on the front line against beast tides. Despite later moral decline within parts of the organization, it is credited with helping preserve relative peace between the Two Great Empires and providing commoner Spirit Masters a path to advancement beyond sect-controlled power structures. 15
Its local network reaches remote villages through Spirit Branch Halls. Deacons such as Su Tianyu travel between villages to awaken martial souls, identify children with soul power, and recruit suitable prospects. Tianhun Village alone produces several qualified children in the year of Chen Xilin's awakening, including recruits who agree to join Spirit Hall. 3 4
Fasnuo City's Spirit Hall Main Hall is a prominent regional institution led by Bishop Yasqi. It houses knights, a large library, senior Spirit Masters, and administrative personnel such as former branch-hall administrator Chen Chen. The hall gives Chen Xilin lodging and access to confidential materials after recognizing his potential. 4 5
Under Qian Xunji, Spirit Hall increasingly shifts from a continental institution into an aggressive political force. He organizes the Seven Great Sects Re-selection Assembly to assess and suppress rival sects, especially the Clear Sky Sect, whose strength he considers a threat. 21 24
Uniforms and Identification
- Direct Spirit Hall personnel wear fitted white uniforms with black cloaks; a large Soul character appears at the center of the chest. 3
- A deacon's badge can display both combat type and rank. Su Tianyu's longsword badge with four crossed swords identifies him as a Battle Spirit Master of the Soul Elder rank. 3
- Spirit Hall's primary emblem is a longsword, appearing on the reverse side of the Spirit Master's Handbook. 4
- Entry to Fasnuo City's Spirit Hall Main Hall requires a pass or recognized token; Chen Chen uses a token engraved with a golden human silhouette, crocodile, and crown. 4
Policies and Conduct
Protection of civilians
Qian Xunji publicly declares that Spirit Hall members must immediately kill Fallen Spirit Masters encountered harming civilians, describing the protection of Douluo Continent as Spirit Hall's duty. 5
Recognition of talent
Spirit Hall evaluates children by martial soul quality and innate soul power. Children with sufficient soul power are recognized as potential Spirit Masters, while exceptional talents may receive direct offers to join the organization. 4 177
Control and expansion
- Qian Xunji seeks to make Spirit Hall rule the entire continent and views independent major sects as obstacles to that goal. 21
- Spirit Hall arranges the Seven Great Sects Re-selection Assembly in Spirit City, drawing the continent's sects, Spirit Master families, and unaffiliated observers. 21 24
- It pressures the Lower Four Sects through petitions for protection and considers disobedience unacceptable. 149
- The organization employs personal secret agents and spies, including operatives embedded around Strange Beasts Academy and within other major factions. 105
Conflict with Chen Xilin and the Myriad Beasts Sect
Spirit Hall initially attempts to recruit Chen Xilin after Qian Daoliu identifies his extraordinary talent and Dark Holy Dragon lineage. Chen Xilin refuses, stating that he values freedom and does not wish to be bound by a faction. 31
Qian Xunji interprets Chen Xilin's talent and independence as a future threat. Despite Qian Daoliu's warning not to provoke him, Qian Xunji repeatedly pursues and attacks Chen Xilin, transforming a potential recruit into a determined enemy. 31 95
In response to Qian Xunji's orders, Spirit Hall mobilizes ten Titled Douluo, ten Spirit Douluo, fifty Soul Saints, and two hundred Spirit Emperors toward Strange Beasts Academy. The force is exposed through the capture of a Spirit Hall secret agent, allowing Chen Xilin's side to prepare an ambush. 104 105 106
The first assault ends disastrously when Chen Xilin's forces ambush the expedition and kill Qian Xunji, Chrysanthemum Douluo, Ghost Douluo, and other Spirit Hall personnel. 106
Spirit Hall later mounts a larger attack on the Myriad Beasts Sect. Its Titled Douluo, Spirit Douluos, Soul Saints, and backbone forces suffer catastrophic losses; Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue are severely injured, and the sect claims a flawless victory with no casualties. 276 277 284 285
Conflict with Sea God Island
Spirit Hall refers to Sea God Island as Devil Island. It previously dispatched two thousand Spirit Masters to subdue the island, but fewer than one hundred survived; two Titled Douluo were also lost. 126
This failed invasion creates lasting enmity between Spirit Hall and Sea God Island. Sea God Island's defenders explicitly regard Spirit Hall as a mortal enemy. 127
Decline and Dissolution
After its defeat by the Myriad Beasts Sect, Spirit Hall loses more than ten Titled Douluo-level figures and nearly a thousand personnel. Its remaining power is too depleted to protect its main halls and branch halls effectively. 285
The Star Luo Empire begins suppressing Spirit Hall installations within its territory, resulting in repeated clashes between Spirit Hall personnel and imperial officials. The Heaven Dou Empire does not immediately expel Spirit Hall, primarily because Qian Daoliu remains a Level 99 Peerless Douluo. 285
By this point, Spirit Hall is described as existing in name only. After the Myriad Beasts Sect seizes Heaven Dou Empire territory and Spirit City, founds the Great Xia Empire, and unifies the continent, Spirit Hall's remaining personnel are absorbed to continue practical duties such as martial soul awakenings, city garrisons, and Spirit Master dispute handling. 285 322

Trivia
- Spirit Hall's Titled Douluo title-conferral tradition allows newly advanced Titled Douluos to receive an official title through the organization. Chen Xilin exploits this custom to demand the title Dragon Emperor in Spirit City. 149 151
- Douluo Hall is a sacred Spirit Hall site recognized as the burial ground of deceased Titled Douluo; living Titled Douluo ordinarily do not enter it. 140
- Chen Xilin once considers avoiding Spirit Hall registration entirely after obtaining unusually high-level spirit rings, fearing that his configuration would attract dangerous attention. 5
