The sect was founded by descendants of the Great Zhou Grand Ancestor whose branch was allegedly denied the throne after Prince Liang overthrew and killed the designated Crown Prince. This dispossessed lineage preserved a generational obsession with reclaiming the imperial throne, giving the sect its enduring anti-Great Zhou cause 631.

Over time, its political ambition became inseparable from its worship of Wusheng Laomu. Sect Leader Zhou Tianxing regarded rebellion as a means to weaken Great Zhou’s national fortune, destabilize the Xuanhuang World’s Heavenly Dao, and earn blessings from the Outer Realm Evil God 634. Wusheng Laomu, in turn, cultivated the sect as an internal force that could obstruct Lin Changqing’s Heaven Mending Plan and prepare the way for an Outer Realm invasion 631.
