Background / History

The Huntian Sect was a human cultivation sect based at Huntian Immortal Mountain in the Southern Region of the Xuan You Great World. Its inheritance extended across countless years, and it possessed high-level cultivation methods that made it an attractive refuge for cultivators lacking Saint Realm and post-Saint Realm lineages. 697 699

The sect accepted outside recruits only once every ten years, with strict recruitment windows. Lin Changqing initially could not wait for the next opening, but Elder Li Qingyun personally recruited him after witnessing his strength against Netherworld Hall and the Ghost Race. Li Qingyun admitted him directly as an Inner Disciple and promised the sect’s protection against his enemies. 695 697 698

Lin Changqing’s arrival intensified existing internal rivalries. True Disciple Yuan Yang and his followers repeatedly targeted him, while Yun Tianyi eventually accumulated authority within the sect by returning as a Peak Ancient Saint and repelling foreign experts besieging the mountain gate. Yun Tianyi forced the Sect Master to announce retirement and began purging dissenters while searching for Lin Changqing. 728 765 900

After refining the Xuan You Star Domain’s Origin Item, Lin Changqing returned and shattered Yun Tianyi’s control. He killed Chen Yu, Huo Yun Ancestor, and multiple elders and Supreme Elders aligned with Yun Tianyi; Yun Tianyi escaped through an avatar. Under Lin Changqing’s patronage, the sect underwent a drastic reorganization. Its selection process was made more impartial, its members received enormous cultivation resources, and its grounds were placed under time acceleration through the Square Inch Pagoda.
