Background / History

The Eternal Life Alliance had existed for many years by the time of the Qian Shan County Demonic Calamity. It was formed from Demonized Warriors and maintained strict internal rules and ranks. Its stated objective was to overthrow the Great Zhou Dynasty, though Lin Changqing initially regarded it as a tool created by True Demons to probe and undermine the dynasty. 101

The alliance orchestrated the Qian Shan County Demonic Calamity as a blood sacrifice intended to hasten the emergence of an ancient ruin. Its agents concealed their involvement by relying heavily on demon beasts rather than openly deploying Demonized Warriors. 101 102

Its activities expanded through hidden strongholds, secret realms, recruitment among desperate cultivators, and the forced demonization of ordinary people. In Yun Province, Green Robe Ancestor used promises of surviving the Five Decays of Heaven and Man to recruit Du Yuntao, who subsequently brought more than eighty percent of that branch's thousand-plus members into the alliance. 608

By the later conflict with Lin Changqing, the alliance was identified as a destabilizing cult force backed by True Demons from beyond the Xuanhuang World. Its final major scheme involved exploiting Prince Zhao's palace coup to disrupt Great Zhou's national fortune, break the seal on the Demon Suppression Tower, and release the Celestial Demon imprisoned beneath the imperial palace. 617 624

The alliance sought power and longer lifespans through demonic power, recruiting those unable or unwilling to progress by orthodox cultivation. Its members included rogue cultivators as well as nobles and noble descendants whose cultivation had stagnated. 120 608 622
