Ch. 1Li Qi

Li Qi reflected on his unusual talents and his conflicted plans to enter Zhaoguang Academy, then rushed toward his family settlement after spotting a dangerous bird. He recognized the planetary-level Dark Night Bird as it targeted Little Nineteen's secret base.

  • Li Qi recalled his transmigration, his mysterious unreadable secret manual, and the meteor that may have given him an exceptionally high genetic level.
  • Li Qi failed to control sixteen bone fragments through the fourth stage of the Twenty-Eight Basic Controller Techniques and weighed his desire for strength against leaving his family.
  • Li Qi heard the Thunder Eagle cry and saw a dark shape flying above the family settlement, so he launched himself into the sky on his bone shield.
  • Li Qi identified the attacking beast as a planetary-level Dark Night Bird and realized it was targeting Little Nineteen's secret base.

Ch. 2Making a Living Requires Connections!

Li Qi fought the Dark Night Bird in the air to keep it from reaching Little Nineteen’s hideout, then held it off until Planetary Level experts from the Royce Family camp arrived. With the bird fleeing under pursuit, Li Qi flew down to check on the children.

  • Li Qi attacked the Dark Night Bird with Bone Spikes, forcing it to recognize him as a threat.
  • Li Qi used paired Bone Spikes to pierce the bird’s feathers and counter its attempts to dive toward the children in the hill.
  • The Dark Night Bird endured Li Qi’s attacks and kept trying to reach the children, but Li Qi’s Bone Spikes slowed it.
  • Six Planetary Level experts from the Royce Family camp noticed the battle and flew to help.
  • The Dark Night Bird fled when it saw the arriving experts, and one of them pursued it with a Mental Force Weapon.
  • Li Qi declined to explain what happened and flew down to check on the children.

Ch. 3Disaster

Li Qi rescued Little Eighteen and Little Nineteen from a Dark Night Bird, then discussed the attack with the Royce Family elders. The family received alarming news from Li Qi’s grandfather, leaving the reason for the emergency unknown.

  • Li Qi found Little White dead and brought Little Eighteen and Little Nineteen out of the cave after the Dark Night Bird fled.
  • Derrick arrived, comforted Little Eighteen, and took the children back to the family encampment with Li Qi.
  • Li Qi reflected that his Bone Spikes could not reliably threaten a Planetary Level monster without a psychic weapon, but decided not to leave the family yet.
  • Li Qi reported the attack to Derrick, Huo Lu, and Garibuel, who noted that the family’s Thunder Eagles had not returned and barred the younger children from leaving home.
  • Huo Lu opened an email from Li Qi’s grandfather, read it, and announced that something had happened.

Ch. 4Patrol Mission

After learning that coordinated Planetary Level beast attacks had preceded an unusual beast tide, Li Qi joined a patrol to help weaker tribes reach shelters. He set out for Zhaoguang City with supplies and a communicator, while his family prepared for the coming danger.

  • Huo Lu explained that Planetary Level beasts had attacked tribes across the inner grasslands, targeting Human Race children, and warned that an unusual beast tide was approaching.
  • Huo Lu said the family needed to alert and assist weaker tribes, while Li Qi was assigned to patrol toward Zhaoguang City with Derrick's communicator.
  • Derrick gave Li Qi instructions, food, and water, and told him to focus on breaking up beast herds and gathering tribes for safer travel.
  • Li Qi reassured Winnie that he was unharmed, collected spare Bone Spikes, and left the mess tent with his supplies.
  • Li Qi flew toward Zhaoguang City on his Bone Shield as Derrick watched him depart.

Ch. 5The Real Grassland

Li Qi used Zhaoguang City's map to identify tribes that could seek refuge at the Royce Family during the coming beast tide, then began warning them. After visiting nearly all the tribes assigned to him, he had only one left to notify.

  • Li Qi determined that nine tribes could take refuge at the Royce Family grounds and planned to coordinate with other inspectors about four tribes closer to other shelters.
  • Li Qi reached the first tribe and found nearly five hundred people there, though only two were Apprentice Level Nine warriors.
  • Li Qi introduced himself to the tribe's chief, showed him Zhaoguang City's warning about the imminent beast tide, and told the tribe to relocate to the Royce Family shelter.
  • After Li Qi left, the chief told an Apprentice Level Eight youth that Li Qi was an Apprentice Level Nine Spirit Reader stronger than he was.
  • Li Qi continued notifying tribes, visiting every tribe suited to migrate to the Royce Family and three farther tribes before nightfall, with one tribe still unvisited.

Ch. 6Family and Old Acquaintances

Derrick explained to Winnie that he made Li Qi a patrol inspector to push him out of complacency and help the Royce Family overcome political hostility. Li Qi reached the Haheru Tribe with the beast-tide warning, reunited with its leader Yasi, and offered to accompany the tribe if it sought refuge with the Royce Family.

  • Derrick told Winnie that the Royce Family had been denied political influence despite its strength, and that Li Qi and Little One needed to demonstrate their talents to change the family's fortunes.
  • Li Qi traveled across the grasslands to warn tribes that the beast tide was approaching, then reached the Haheru Tribe after growing exhausted on the journey.
  • Li Qi presented Zhaoguang City's notice to Yakesi and recognized Yasi as the defense-zone commander who had guided him during his first Beast Tide Trial.
  • Yasi invited Li Qi to stay overnight, and Li Qi offered to escort the Haheru Tribe if it chose to seek refuge with the Royce Family.
  • Yasi welcomed the offer and said he would persuade the tribal elders to seek refuge with the Royce Family.

Ch. 7Migration Ambush

Li Qi accompanied the Haheru Tribe as it migrated toward the Royce Family, then flew to the rear of the convoy to stop a Unicorn Wolf pack from attacking. After the convoy moved on, an earth trail approached the place where the Unicorn Wolf King had died.

  • Yakesi told Li Qi that the Haheru Tribe had decided to travel with him to the Royce Family, and the tribe set out in a long convoy.
  • When a Unicorn Wolf pack attacked from behind, Li Qi flew to the rear of the convoy on his Bone Shield.
  • Li Qi used his sixteen Bone Spikes to kill the Unicorn Wolf King and three larger wolves, causing the remaining wolves to flee.
  • The Haheru Tribe warriors retrieved their weapons and loaded the dead wolves onto carts as Li Qi returned to the convoy.
  • About an hour after the convoy departed, a raised trail of earth reached the place where the Unicorn Wolf King had died.

Ch. 8Mixed Beast Horde

On the third day of the migration, Li Qi spotted two beast hordes attacking the convoy and quickly helped defeat the mixed horde on the left. After killing its strongest beasts in under a minute, he still suspected that an unseen Planetary Level beast was commanding them.

  • Li Qi saw two beast hordes approaching from opposite sides and sent Yakesi to support the side with fewer beasts.
  • Li Qi noticed the left horde mixed carnivorous and herbivorous species and searched for a Planetary Level beast he suspected was leading them.
  • Li Qi killed six Apprentice Level Nine beasts and more than ten Apprentice Level Seven and Eight beasts with his Bone Spikes.
  • Li Qi helped the convoy's warriors finish off the remaining attackers, causing the horde to collapse in less than a minute.
  • The convoy's warriors praised Li Qi's strength, while he wondered whether a Planetary Level beast had commanded the horde.

Ch. 9Planetary-Level Drill Beast

Yakesi fought through the Rift-Toothed Beasts attacking the migration convoy until a Planetary-Level Drill Beast swallowed his Long-Haired Beast. Knowing he could not defeat it alone, he tried to lure it away and stall for Li Qi, but the beast charged after him.

  • The convoy's warriors battled the Rift-Toothed Beasts in dozens of scattered fights along a nearly thousand-meter front.
  • Yakesi charged into the battle on his ninth-rank Long-Haired Beast and killed several Rift-Toothed Beasts across multiple battlefronts.
  • A Planetary-Level Drill Beast burst from the ground and swallowed the Long-Haired Beast, but Yakesi leaped clear.
  • Yakesi realized the Drill Beast threatened the whole convoy and decided to stall it until Li Qi could help.
  • Yakesi struck the ground to draw the Drill Beast's attention, but it located him and burrowed after him as he ran.

Ch. 10Breaking the Deadlock

Li Qi struggled to suppress a Planetary Level Drill Beast attacking the migration convoy, but his Bone Spikes could not seriously harm it and his Mental Force was running low. After spotting Yakesi’s ancestral spear, Li Qi took it and prepared to strike as the Drill Beast lunged at him.

  • Li Qi found a Planetary Level Drill Beast attacking the convoy and pinned it underground with his Bone Spikes, but could not pierce its tough hide.
  • The Drill Beast spat out Yakesi in blackish-gray filth, and Yakesi realized Li Qi could only suppress the beast temporarily.
  • As his Mental Force dwindled, Li Qi recognized Yakesi’s spear and called for it, drawing the Drill Beast toward him.
  • Yakesi threw Li Qi his ancestral spear and ran while Li Qi used Bone Spikes to slow the Drill Beast and rose into the air.
  • The Drill Beast burst from the ground and lunged at Li Qi, who faced its open maw with the spear and shouted, “Die!”

Ch. 11Indescribable

Li Qi killed a second-tier Planetary Level Drill Beast with Yakesi's ancestral spear fragment and Bone Spikes, saving Yakesi and the migration party. After a Planetary Level expert arrived and left, Li Qi agreed to let the two tribes transport the beast's corpse for a share of its materials.

  • Li Qi controlled the ancestral spear fragment and Bone Spikes inside the Drill Beast, killing it after it failed to escape underground.
  • Yakesi thanked Li Qi for saving him and the Haheru Tribe, and Li Qi warned him to conceal the fragment's likely Stellar Level origins.
  • A middle-aged Planetary Level expert arrived in response to Li Qi's distress signal, learned Li Qi had killed the beast, and left without claiming any spoils.
  • Li Qi told Yakesi to keep the fragment's origins secret and agreed that the two tribes could transport the corpse in exchange for some materials.

Ch. 12Rewards and Sky-Breaking

After returning from the migration, Li Qi received two Red Dew Fruits from the Royce Family and was assigned to command a defensive zone during the approaching Beast Tide Trial. At home, he learned that his eldest brother Ailik had sent him an incomplete Mental Force weapon called the Sky-Breaking Sword.

  • Li Qi returned to the Royce Family after escorting the migration party and reunited with his mother, Winnie.
  • Royce rewarded Li Qi with two Red Dew Fruits, and Ivanko ordered him to command the defensive zone where Twelve and Thirteen would take part in their first Beast Tide Trial.
  • Derrick asked Li Qi about his patrol; Li Qi described how dangerous the grasslands were for weak tribes, and Derrick said he would understand more after visiting Zhaoguang City.
  • Derrick gave Li Qi a metal case from Ailik containing twenty sharp blades, then called Ailik to ask about them.
  • Li Qi and Derrick met Ailik’s teammate Daya on the call, and Ailik openly said she would become his wife.
  • Ailik explained that the blades formed an incomplete Mental Force weapon, the Sky-Breaking Sword.

Ch. 13Big Brother

Eric gave Li Qi a damaged Sky-Breaking Sword and urged him to visit Zhaoguang City, arguing that the Royce Family needed more than one future pillar. Li Qi agreed to go, then studied the sword manual and went to seek help from Garibuel.

  • Eric reassured Derrick that the squad had obtained the Sky-Breaking Swords during a grassland trial, then showed Li Qi the sword and its manual.
  • Eric spoke privately with Li Qi, recognized that he had been delaying his departure because he did not want to leave the family, and encouraged him to visit Zhaoguang City.
  • Eric compared the Royce Family’s security with the fragile lives of grassland tribes and explained that the family needed more than one pillar.
  • Li Qi agreed to go to Zhaoguang City, though he worried the advanced technology there might expose his bodily secret.
  • After Eric logged off, Li Qi read the Sky-Breaking Sword manual, considered whether his Mental-Force Amplitude was sufficient, and headed to Garibuel’s home for help.

Ch. 14Talent

Li Qi learned from Garibuel how to activate the Sky-Breaking Sword’s secret patterns and succeeded on his second attempt, though he still needed to improve his speed. As the beast tide approached, Garibuel entrusted Twelve and Thirteen to Li Qi’s protection, and Li Qi looked forward to commanding Thirteen’s defensive sector.

  • Garibuel demonstrated how to activate the Sky-Breaking Sword’s secret patterns and sent it flying to cut a branch from a distant tree.
  • Garibuel instructed Li Qi to divide his Mental Force into eight equal streams and activate the sword’s patterns from its tail toward its tip.
  • Li Qi nearly activated the sword on his first try, then successfully drove it on his second attempt.
  • Garibuel warned Li Qi that he needed to drive the sword faster and told him to protect Twelve and Thirteen when the beast tide arrived.
  • Li Qi recalled Thirteen’s constant challenges and smiled at the thought of commanding his defensive sector.

Ch. 15Beast Tide

During the Beast Tide at Royce Family territory, Li Qi defended his sector and killed a Planetary Level Unicorn Wolf with the Sky-Breaking Sword. After the first wave retreated, he saw that a second wave was gathering.

  • Li Qi watched the approaching Beast Tide and warned his sector as the horde arrived.
  • The Royce Family's Planetary Level experts attacked the avian demon beasts while defenders held their ground behind trenches.
  • Li Qi spotted a Planetary Level Unicorn Wolf and pursued it with the Sky-Breaking Sword, disrupting the beast horde.
  • Li Qi killed the Unicorn Wolf by splitting the Sky-Breaking Sword inside its body, easing pressure on his sector.
  • Li Qi saw Twelve and Thirteen were safe, then noticed the second wave gathering after the first wave retreated.

Ch. 16The Family's Future Is in Your Hands!

After the beast tide ended, Li Qi returned to the family and learned that his eldest brother Ailik Ron Royce had sent a recording from the United Training Camp, where a powerful beast horde had killed Daya and left the camp on the brink of collapse. Ailik sacrificed himself in a blaze of red light and entrusted the family’s future to Eleven.

  • Li Qi brought Twelve and Thirteen home after the beast tide, and Huo Lu praised him for protecting them while explaining Derrick’s wish to change Kuka Planet’s situation.
  • Li Qi joined the family meeting, where Huo Lu played a recording from Ailik Ron Royce.
  • Ailik revealed that several Stellar Level demonic beasts, including one with a domain, had attacked the United Training Camp and that Daya and many others had died.
  • Ailik apologized to his family, picked up his greatsword, and declared that he would risk his life for something worthwhile.
  • Ailik engulfed the room in fiery red light and told Eleven that the family’s future was in his hands.

Ch. 17Resolve

After Little One’s funeral, Royce learned that Ruth Holk was trying to claim the family ranch, and the family froze it while Li Qi committed to entering the Stellar Training Camp to protect their future. Li Qi traveled to Zhaoguang City for the academy entrance examination and confronted the stark divide between the prosperous city and the harsh grasslands.

  • Li Qi and the family mourned Little One, and Royce urged them to carry on before arranging the funeral.
  • Royce received notice that Ruth Holk had applied for rights to the family ranch, so he and Ivanko pooled contribution points to freeze it for five years.
  • Li Qi vowed to enter the Stellar Training Camp and protect the ranch, while privately holding on to the hope that he might someday revive Little One.
  • The next morning, Li Qi traveled with his family to Zhaoguang City and saw its immense wealth contrasted with the surrounding grasslands.

Ch. 18Weakness

Frank ordered a crackdown on instructors and cultivation-planet officials after the disaster on Kuka Planet, then Li Qi continued training in Zhaoguang Academy’s Virtual Universe Trial Tower. Li Qi recognized that his reliance on superior Mental Force and Bone Spikes had left his movement and combat skills weak, and he returned to the Trial Tower to keep practicing.

  • Frank blamed the failure to protect Kuka Planet on its absent Universe Level guard and ordered him to end his leave and report there.
  • Frank sent the surviving instructors to the mines and ordered assessments of instructors across every cultivation planet.
  • The Universe Level officials speculated that Frank’s anger stemmed from the death of a major family’s scion and his rivalry with Domain Lord Rika.
  • Li Qi entered the Trial Tower and failed to kill nine Apprentice Level Nine Corpse-Eating Birds within ten minutes.
  • Li Qi identified his poor Movement Technique and difficulty adapting to equalized Virtual Universe battles as weaknesses, then entered the Trial Tower again to train.

Ch. 19Before the Test

After improving his Movement Technique, Li Qi prepared to enter Zhaoguang Academy through special approval at its Admission Test. Ivanko brought him to the testing site, where a local ancestor recognized Li Qi and predicted that the day might bring excitement.

  • Li Qi asked Ivanko for Movement Technique guidance after failing the Warrior Path Trial Tower's third floor, and Ivanko taught him how Spirit Readers should move.
  • Nine days later, Li Qi reached the Subtle Level in Movement Technique and survived the third-floor trial with only one hit, though he still lacked the Force-Output Amplitude to clear the fourth floor.
  • Li Qi reviewed the Admission Test and set a goal of earning special approval through his amplitude and combat record.
  • Ivanko took Li Qi through a special entrance to Zhaoguang Academy's testing site, where applicants and their relatives gathered.
  • A middle-aged ancestor told his three juniors that Li Qi Royce had reportedly killed a Planetary Level monster during the beast tide, then watched Li Qi expecting something interesting to happen.

Ch. 20Testing Underway

Li Qi began Zhaoguang Academy's Admission Test under the scrutiny of Ian, an examiner who took over the test after noticing Li Qi's unusual record. The test was still underway as Li Qi demonstrated control of increasingly large groups of Bone Spikes.

  • Li Qi and Ivanko noticed hostility from the other candidates, and Ivanko warned Li Qi to stay calm if anyone provoked him during the test.
  • Ian noticed Li Qi's record of killing a Planetary Level monster as an Apprentice Level fighter and took over his test from the female examiner.
  • Li Qi entered the Virtual Universe and chose Bone Spikes as his mental-force weapon.
  • Li Qi struck the targets with eight Bone Spikes, then sixteen, and Ian reacted when Li Qi requested twenty-four.
