Background and history

Nacita was the Empire's youngest general and wielded the gun-type Imperial Arm, Pumpkin. She commanded an army that included two other Imperial Arms users, though Esdeath's arrival displaced her as the Empire's youngest general. 19

During a northwestern-border expedition with Esdeath, Nacita witnessed both Esdeath's overwhelming power and the slaughter of Foreigner tribes, including women and children. Already concerned by the Empire's decay under the Minister, she became increasingly convinced that the country could not be saved from within. 19 20

Nacita defected with her unit under the pretense of bandit suppression, intending to join the Rebel Army. Esdeath ambushed her in the mountains, annihilated most of her forces and the two Imperial Arms users under her command, then severed Nacita's right arm and destroyed her right eye. Esdeath spared her because she considered Nacita a promising future opponent. 20 21 22

After joining the Rebel Army, Nacita used her prestige and organizational ability to expand its influence. She founded and led Night Raid, an assassination organization composed almost entirely of Imperial Arms users; political rivals later tried to sideline her by assigning Night Raid to carry out dangerous operations in the Imperial Capital. 22

Nacita continued to lead Night Raid against the Empire and its Hunters. She repeatedly opposed Lilith, but recognized that Night Raid could not confront Lilith and Esdeath directly without overwhelming forces. 29 32 64

During the Revolutionary Army's assault on the Imperial Capital, Lilith infiltrated the command ranks and transformed Nacita into a vampire using Leona's blood. The conversion restored her lost arm and eye, but placed her beyond any ability to resist Lilith's control. 104 105

Despite defeat, Nacita supplied Lilith with an assassination list identifying hostile neutral-faction leaders and malicious Revolutionary Army officials. Lilith recognized that Nacita had always intended to remove corrupt figures from the postwar government and accepted her as an ally. 106

After the founding of the Eternal Night Empire, Nacita dedicated herself to eliminating destabilizing forces. Nacita is deeply concerned with the welfare and future of her country. Her disillusionment with the Empire came not from sympathy for its foreign enemies, but from recognizing the state's corruption and its inevitable decline under the Minister. 19 20

She is a pragmatic strategist willing to use assassination and political purges to build a stable state. Even while serving the Revolutionary Army, she intended to eliminate leaders she considered dangerous to the country that would follow the war. 106

Nacita is protective of her subordinates and comrades.
