Jing Dynasty descendant

Li Xuanji is a descendant of the Jing Dynasty's imperial family and seeks to restore his family's lost kingdom. His long-term uprising strategy—beginning with Jiannan Prefecture and expanding gradually—was devised by his master, Fan Gushan. 130 131

At age twenty-seven, Li was already the commander of the Sky Breaking Army. His reputation as a young, highly skilled, benevolent leader attracted capable martial artists and common people to the army. 107 111

Conquest of the Southern Domain

Li organized the rescue of Old Daoist Qingxuan from Li Tunshan's camp, personally joining Old Daoist Danyang in breaking out of the encirclement. He activated the Rakshasa Kui Divine Skill to force a path through enemy lines. 110 111

After Su Que killed Li Tunshan, Li Xuanji carried the commander's corpse before the Thunderclap Army and compelled its soldiers to surrender. He then seized Jiannan Prefecture City, converted Minsheng Temple into Purple Sun Temple, and expanded the Sky Breaking Army's forces. 127 128

Rather than immediately invade Nanming Prefecture, Li spent months consolidating Jiannan: screening former enemy soldiers, resolving county affairs, and establishing local systems. Emperor of Qi

When more than 300,000 imperial troops marched south alongside the Great Buddha Temple and True Profound Sect, Li initially chose to abandon the Southern Region and flee by sea with his core forces. Kong Wo, abbot of the Great Buddha Temple, intercepted him, defeated his group, and read his memories. 269

Li nevertheless went on to restore his dynasty and ascend the throne as Emperor of Qi. After taking the capital, he ordered the extermination of the Liang royal Xiao family to prevent a future restoration attempt. 283

As emperor, Li ordered the confiscation of unique weapons, peculiar metals, and rare treasures. He intended to restrict martial arts throughout Qi and reduce the number of martial artists who could threaten his rule. 284

Buddhist coercion

The Dragon Subduing Arhat later captured Li and forced him to convert the sects of his realm to Buddhism and conquer other lands for the construction of Buddhist temples. Li accepted out of fear for his life. 296

The Buddhist sects' subsequent oppression left him frustrated and constrained within the capital. His continued cultivation of Rakshasa Kui eventually drew the attention of the Rakshasa God, who extended his lifespan by undisclosed means. 314 383
