Background / History

Illidan is a descendant of the Stormrage Clan and serves as a low-ranking Elven general before the Sundering. He is known among the northern Elves as a disciple of Cenarius and Kutarrus Ravencrest, and at this point in history he remains a powerful Elven Mage rather than a Demon Hunter. His golden, double-pupiled eyes are described as a gift of the Holy Light. 8 9

When Meridale Sindragosa fires a first-class red flare outside Sindragosa Village, Illidan mobilizes the Stormrage Guard and personally answers the call. After hearing Meridale accuse Ji Shadowwind and Li Luo Shadowwind of being Mogu spies, he rejects her claim: their slave clothing and Flesh Curse marks make her story implausible. He prevents Meridale from attacking them, prioritizing the Sindragosa Clan's reputation and the Elven tradition of protecting the weak. 8 9

Illidan permits Ji and Li Luo to enter the Elven village after learning that they seek the Shadowwind Clan, where he has previously encountered Kang Shadowwind. 9
