Behind-Enemy Reconnaissance (Part 2)
Yujite Canyon (Southern Front Battlefield)
"Um?"
A fragment of memory carrying special information suddenly entered Sordil's mind as he was healing wounded soldiers. After processing it, Sordil frowned slightly, then stopped his Healing Magic and said apologetically to the wounded lying in the medical camp, "I'm sorry! Everyone, I just remembered something extremely important that needs immediate attention, so your injuries may have to wait a while before they can be treated!"
Seeing Sordil bowing in apology, many wounded soldiers in the medical camp stood up and advised him to prioritize the important matters and not to worry about them.
"Prince Sordil, since you have important matters to attend to, please go and take care of them. We will be fine!"
"Yes, Your Highness the Prince! If you have something urgent, please go and see the five kings. Our wounds are not fatal, and we will be fine even without treatment!"
"That's right, Prince Sordil, you should go and attend to the more important matters. Our wounds are nothing to worry about!"
"Your Highness Sordil, you should leave now!"
"We'll be fine, you should go now!"
Seeing the group of people sweating profusely from the pain, yet still managing to stand up and pretend to be fine, urging him to leave, Sordil felt a forgotten emotion welling up inside him. He bowed deeply to these lovely people and then shouted, "Don't worry, everyone, I will come back here as soon as I've finished dealing with this matter to help you recover from your injuries."
After making his promise to everyone, Sordil strode towards the camp where Hadessta and the others were. Behind him, the wounded soldiers stared motionlessly at his receding figure until it disappeared completely.
Before long, Sordil arrived at the tent where Hadessta and the other leaders were. Seeing Sordil's anxious expression, Hadessta hurriedly asked, "Sordil, what happened?"
Sordil nodded, then said urgently, "I just received a message from the central battlefield that there's a special situation there, so I need to lead a rescue team there."
"Since the situation on the central front is critical, you should set off immediately!"
"Good!"
After informing Hadessta of the situation on the central battlefield, Sordil immediately led Diphiya and the other two away from the southern battlefield via a teleportation Magic Array. However, they did not go directly to the central battlefield, but instead headed to the northern battlefield.
Godesweit Mountains (Northern Front)
"Buzz"
A sudden tremor ran through the summit of the Godesweit Mountains, followed by a silvery-white light. Moments later, the light dissipated, revealing four figures on the peak. Looking at the mountain she had just left, Diphiya asked curiously, "Sordil, weren't we going to reinforce the central battlefield? How did we end up back on the northern front?"
Sordil gave Diphiya a gentle pat on the head (the kind that's more like a playful pat, the more accurate term would be "slap"), then laughed and said, "Silly girl! Even if we're going to reinforce the central battlefield, we need to get the reinforcement forces assembled first!"
Diphiya slapped Sordil's hand away from her head in annoyance, then stomped her foot playfully, and that was it. Because that big jerk was squatting on the ground, rubbing his swollen hands and feet, snoring incessantly!
"Haha! You siblings really know how to have fun! Haha!"
Sordil rolled his eyes at the gloating Mevajena, then said to everyone, "Stop fooling around, we need to hurry down and meet up with Grandiere and the others, then we'll go together to rescue the central battlefield!"
Diphiya and the other two exchanged glances, then exclaimed in unison, "Besides you, who among us has been fooling around?"
Although Sordil wanted to refute the three's complaints, upon reflection, he realized that the situation was indeed as described. Unable to find a rebuttal, he stood speechless and frozen in place. Just as a cawing crow was about to fly overhead, Igneel and his group of five, sensing something amiss on the mountaintop, appeared just in time, breaking the awkward silence between Sordil and his companions.
"Damn it! Brother Sordil, weren't you supposed to be on the southern front?"
Hearing Igneel's shout, Sordil chuckled awkwardly, then mumbled, "Well... the battle on the southern front just ended, and then I received a distress call from the central front, so I rushed back to the northern front to find you guys to go to the central front together."
After Sordil finished speaking, Metalicana and the others nodded in understanding. At this moment, the Fire Dragon King, who had been emotionally deceived by Sodir, roared angrily, "Sordil, you bastard! You knew we were going to meet soon, yet you made it all so sentimental, making me not even have a proper dinner!"
"Ha ha!"
"Ha ha!"
Seeing Ignir chasing after Sordil, ready to give him a good beating, Igneel Diphiya the others burst into laughter.
"Brother Igneel, please let me explain!"
"I won't listen!"
"Brother Igneel, isn't my apology enough?"
"Apologize? Do you think an apology will heal the wounds to my fragile little heart?"
Seeing that he was about to be caught, Sordil had no choice but to resort to his trump card. He took out a large wooden barrel and a large piece of roasted meat made from some unknown creature from his storage space. Sordil held these two items high above his head and shouted, "Brother Igneel, these two items are yours. Please spare your brother this time!"
Just when everyone thought that the furious Igneel would throw the two items aside and then beat Sordil up, the gluttonous king snatched them away with lightning speed. Then, while eating and drinking, he mumbled, "If you had taken these two items out earlier, none of this would have happened. You made me chase after you so hard!"
"Bang"
Upon hearing Igneel's words, all nine onlookers, including Grandiere, collapsed to the ground. After a long while, Diphiya, remembering the purpose of their trip to the northern front, struggled to her feet and stammered, "So... Sodi... Brother Dier, I... shouldn't we... shouldn't we head to the central... central battlefield?"
Having narrowly escaped death, Sordil finally remembered the purpose of his visit. He immediately said to Igneel, who was enjoying his meal, "Brother Igneel, now that you've calmed down, shall we head to the central battlefield?"
"Shouldn't we have set off long ago? It's all because you, Brother Sordil, dawdled and refused to move, wasting so much precious time. Otherwise, we might have already reached the central battlefield!"
Sordil was completely stunned by the tungsten steel pot that had fallen from the sky. He pointed to himself with his right hand and then looked around with a questioning gaze. To his surprise, the nine onlookers nodded in unison, agreeing with his assessment. In an instant, Sordil's fragile heart felt like it had been hit by a billion-point attack, and his breathing became erratic.
Prince Sordil, feeling utterly dejected, skipped the "I want to be alone" phase. He looked up at the cloudless sky, using this method to calm his raging tears and erratic breathing. Five or six minutes later, having regained his composure, Sordil went straight to the center of the Teleportation Array without a word and began channeling Space Magic into it.
Once everything was ready, Sordil called out to the crowd standing there, "Let's go!"
