Infiltration
Just as Sordil was about to leave the meeting room, Irene suddenly grabbed him.
"You scoundrel, since you already knew about Dragon Slayer Magic, given your personality, you certainly wouldn't have been idle. You must have secretly formed a Dragon Slayer Mage Legion, so why did you make me re-select personnel to form a division?"
Faced with his wife's questioning, Old Suo dared not hide anything and immediately gave a brief report on his research results over the years.
"Irene, you should know that Dragon Slayer Magic requires a human to sign Soul Contract with a dragon before Dragon Seed can be transplanted. Only a human who has completed the transplant can be considered a Dragon Slayer Magic."
"Of course I know that, but what does that have to do with forming a Dragon Slayer Corps?"
"Of course it's related! Before, although I had researched Dragon Slayer Magic, there weren't many dragons that could be used to transplant Dragon Seed. So even though I discovered this secret a few years earlier than you, I wasn't able to train many Dragon Slayer Magic. That's why I asked you to select talents and form Dragon Slayer Mage Corps."
"So that's how it is! Then... just how many Dragon Slayer Magic do you have under your command, you scoundrel?"
Looking at his wife's expectant eyes, Old Suo said with extreme shame, "After all these years of hard work, I have only created a little over a thousand Dragon Slayer Magic."
"More than a thousand? That's a lot!"
"Too much? Two days ago I might have thought so, but now I think it's far too little!"
"What happened?"
Old Suo didn't speak, but instead handed over a wooden envelope (scaled down proportionally by Quality Magic).
"This... the Western Continent has actually reinforced its troops again?"
"That's why I said there are too few Dragon Slayer Magic!"
"It's alright, we can keep creating Dragon Slayer Magic to bridge the gap between us and the enemy."
"Irene, you don't know this, but each dragon can only form a contract with one human. This means that we can only create an equal number of Dragon Slayer Magic as the dragons, and we cannot create an unlimited number of Dragon Slayer Magic."
Upon hearing this devastating news, Irene was completely stunned. Based on the current data, even doubling their forces wouldn't be a match for the enemy. Suddenly, Her Majesty the Queen remembered something else. She rushed to Old Suo and excitedly exclaimed, "You scoundrel! Didn't you make Soul Contract with many dragons? This means there must be a way to break this curse, allowing each dragon to make contracts with multiple humans. This way, we can create more Dragon Slayer Magic, close the gap, and defeat the enemy!"
"Irene, listen to me, I've thought of all of these things. I've tried all sorts of methods, but the result is always the same, nothing has changed at all!"
"How could this be? If that's the case, then we've lost the opportunity to create top-tier experts, haven't we? (All the top-tier experts, including the Sage Dragon and the Five Dragon Kings, have signed contracts with Old Suo, which is why Irene said that.)"
Old Suo quickly stepped forward, grabbed Her Majesty the Queen's shoulders to help steady her swaying body, and then said in a deep voice, "Irene! Irene, calm down! Things aren't as bad as you think. Sage Dragon and the others can still sign contracts with other humans!"
Perhaps it was Sordil's strong arms that prevented her from breaking free, or perhaps it was her husband's words that gave her hope. In any case, the excited Her Majesty the Queen finally calmed down.
"You scoundrel, are you serious?"
"It's true! Perhaps it's because I'm not human that the dragons who made contracts with me can still make contracts with humans."
Hearing Old Suo's words, Her Majesty the Queen's face was filled with relief, and beneath that relief lay a hint of relief and shyness. After calming down, the problem that the two had been unable to solve before returned to them.
"Damn it, even if we can create Dragon Slayer Magic with the abilities of the Sage Dragon and others, we still can't overcome the disparity in troop strength between us and the enemy!"
Upon hearing the words "disparity in troop strength," Old Suo suddenly recalled a classic battle from his past life— the Battle of Guandu. He thought back to how Cao Cao, with only 70,000 troops, faced Yuan Shao's 700,000—how difficult his situation must have been, yet he ultimately triumphed! Yes, his intelligence couldn't compare to Cao Cao and his group of geniuses, but surely he wasn't so low as to be unable to handle an enemy with twice the strength?
Furthermore, our side is capable of continuously replenishing its forces (who knows, some unlucky soul might be captured by Old Suo and used to create Dragon Slayer Magic), so isn't it a bit premature to admit defeat now?
Thinking of this, Old Suo's heart was instantly filled with hope again. He said confidently, "Silly girl, don't worry, we'll definitely find a way to solve this problem!" (I originally wanted to write "there's always a way out," but considering the background of Fairy Tail, I decided against it.)
"So... you bastard, what do we do next?"
Looking at Her Majesty the Queen standing in front of him with her big, bright eyes, the lecherous Sordil grinned (like a lustful glutton seeing a beautiful woman) and pounced on the stunning beauty before him.
"Ha!"
Glancing at the unidentified flying object ahead, the anti-wolf elite, Irene, let out a powerful roar, then spun sideways, easily dodging the attack. Immediately following, a knee-to-the-neck chokehold followed (since Old Suo was tough, he wouldn't die, so it didn't matter!), then a backhand grappling, and finally a swift, deadly strike.
So, a few minutes later, a certain unlucky pervert was transformed into a beautiful human bow, lying gracefully on the not-so-cool (just kidding, it was actually quite cool, after all, it was a marble floor) floor.
"You rascal, I'm going to prepare the Dragon Slayer Magic. You stay here and wait for me!"
With that, Her Majesty the Queen winked playfully, then left in a manner quite unbecoming of a queen (hopping and skipping).
"Hey! My dear wife, please help me untie this before you leave!"
"Hello!"
Central Ishgar, Mysterious Cave
After gathering the necessary information, Shadow and his master met here again. (Every time I write about these two, I'm at my wit's end; I really don't know how to introduce them.)
"Master, another group of strong reinforcements arrived from the west not long ago. Strangely, our Old Friend did not show up. Instead, it was the Sage Dragon and the Sacred Dragon who were holding the line."
"Heh! Of course, my Old Friend won't show up, because he's not even in Peterburg City!"
"Not in Peterburg City? Then where did he go?"
"Hmph! Where could he have gone? Of course, he went back to Dragunov to see his extremely virtuous Her Majesty Irene and discuss how to resolve the current situation."
"Right now, all of Ishgar's dragons have been concentrated at the front lines. What other options do they have? Could they possibly conjure up a new batch of dragons out of thin air to bridge the gap in strength between the two sides?"
"Haha! You're absolutely right! They really do plan to create a batch of humanoid dragons to fight against those beings in the west."
"How is this possible? How can a human turn into a dragon?"
Whether their plan succeeds or not is not important; what matters is that our opportunity has arrived!
"What the master means is..."
"Immediately select a few qualified individuals from among our people; I believe they will be put to good use soon!"
"Yes, Your Majesty! I obey!"
Just as Ying was about to turn and leave, the master hidden deep in the cave suddenly called out to him.
"By the way, what has our new ally done recently?"
"Reporting to the master, they have recently been trying to make contact with their Old Friend, but we don't know what they are planning."
"Heh! It seems our new ally has quite the ambition!"
"Then... Master, should I warn them?"
"No need for warnings, just keep a close eye on their every move!"
"Yes, Your Majesty, I will immediately intensify surveillance on them!"
"Yes! Step aside!"
"Yes, sir!"
