Dragunov, the courtyard of the royal palace

Returning to this familiar courtyard once again, Sordil felt incredibly bitter. He never imagined that after all his hard work and dedication, things would end up like this.

Looking at the statue not far away and the flowers blooming around it, a familiar yet unbearable scene suddenly flashed into Sordil's mind. In an instant, the young master felt an overwhelming urge to give up and escape this world with Irene and their friends.

"Xiao Rang, do you still remember the promise you made to Irene? You coward, you actually tried to run away! (Angel Sordil)"

"How can this be cowardice? This is clearly the best solution! If we continue on this path, Irene, Diphiya, Uncle Kaldiz, Dad... they will all pay with their lives, and the fruits of our labor will ultimately be taken by that doctor. Do you only feel happy and satisfied when things reach that point? (Demon Sordil)"

"The reason things turned out that way in the past was because we weren't there, but now that we are here, everything will be different! (Angel Sordil)"

"Everything will be different? How do you explain the current situation? Apart from Irene not marrying that scumbag Langu, has anything else changed? (Demon Sordil)"

"Just like you said, we've already changed the course of Irene's marriage. Next, we'll definitely change the course of the world too, we certainly will!" (Angel Sordil)

"Hmph! Sophistry! Attention-seeking tactic! (Demon Sordil)"

"That's still better than you, shirking responsibility and being a coward!" (Angel Sordil)

"What did you say? (The Demon Sordil)"

"Hmph! I won't repeat myself. If you want to hear it, ask the readers! (Angel Sordil)"

"You little brat! Just wait till I get my hands on you!" (Demon Sordil)

"Fight if you want! Who's afraid of who! (Angel Sordil)"

Next, two mini- Sordil, one black and one white, started a chase in the young master's mind. As the battle dragged on, the temperature of the battlefield rose, and because the two caused slight damage to the area, the young master's head began to throb.

"That's enough, you two! Stop it!"

With a roar from Sordil, the two figures, one in black and one in white, vanished without a trace, while a group of guards, servants, and maids from the palace rushed over.

Before the young master could defend himself, the startled Teleportation Array began to tremble on the ground. Then, it accidentally released a burst of Silver-White Light, and a wooden envelope rolled to the young master's feet.

"Um?"

After a surprised exclamation, Sordil picked up the envelope and carefully examined its contents. A moment later, having finished reading the letter, the young master lost all interest in explaining his strange behavior and rushed towards the council hall, shouting at those around him, "Immediately inform Her Majesty Irene that I'm waiting for her in the council hall; I have important matters to discuss with her!"

Before anyone could react, the young master had vanished from their sight. Moments later, the group, having regained their senses, dispersed to help their His Majesty the King spread the news.

Her Majesty Irene, who was discussing matters with the kings at the embassy, immediately took her leave upon hearing the familiar voice from the palace and rushed back as fast as she could. Her carriage had just arrived at the palace gates when it bumped into a member of the messenger's entourage.

"Your Her Majesty the Queen, His Majesty the King recently returned unexpectedly, saying he had important matters to discuss with you!"

Where is His Majesty the King now? (Irene)

"Your Her Majesty the Queen, the King is currently waiting for you in the Council Hall!"

"Hmm! You've done a great job! Prime Minister, please reassign him to a different position!"

"Yes! Your humble servant obeys!"

"Thank you, Your Majesty!"

After arranging the messengers, Irene turned around and strode towards the council hall.

Spurred on by Sordil, Irene unleashed much of her potential, so much so that she covered a distance that would normally take more than twenty minutes in less than ten.

Upon arriving at the palace entrance, Irene could clearly hear footsteps inside, but the ever-perceptive Sordil failed to notice her arrival. This unusual occurrence alerted the astute Her Majesty the Queen sensed that something important must have happened. Without further delay, Irene pushed open the palace doors and went inside.

"Squeak"

Upon hearing the door open, the young master (in human form), who was currently engaged in a marathon in the room, immediately rushed over.

After pulling Her Majesty the Queen into the hall, Sordil peeked out and carefully surveyed the corridor. Once he was sure it was safe, the young master slipped back into the hall and closed the doors tightly.

"Suo..."

Her Majesty the Queen had just opened her mouth, but before she could finish speaking, a cold finger pressed against her lips, interrupting her.

Immediately afterwards, the young master gave Her Majesty the Queen a bear hug, and kept increasing the strength in his arms, as if he wanted to merge Her Majesty the Queen into his body.

Feeling the rapid airflow lashing her neck and the immense force exerted on her body, Irene realized for the first time that the man before her wasn't as strong as she had imagined; he too had moments of weakness and vulnerability. Therefore, Her Majesty the Queen did not resist, but allowed him to do as he pleased, hoping that this would comfort the pillar who had supported her through life.

After a long pause, Sordil stopped what he was doing and whispered in Irene's ear, "Irene, we might... lose!"

"I know! When I saw that battle report, I guessed that things might develop to this point, which is why I went to discuss with the kings about sending human soldiers to participate in the war."

Sordil abruptly released Irene and shook his head repeatedly at her.

"No! Doing this is simply suicide, Irene. Have you forgotten that humans cannot harm dragons?"

"Of course I haven't forgotten about that..."

At this point, a blush suddenly appeared on Her Majesty the Queen's face. Several minutes later, the blush faded, and she continued, "But I have already thought of a solution!"

Upon hearing Her Majesty the Queen's words, Sordil suddenly remembered that his wife was an unparalleled magical genius and the founder of Dragon Slayer Magic. If she hadn't been betrayed by that scoundrel Langu, perhaps the Black Dragon wouldn't have had a chance to roam freely! Of course, if things had unfolded that way, there wouldn't have been the series of exciting events that followed.

Seeing Sordil's dazed expression, the Her Majesty the Queen thought he didn't believe her, so she said anxiously, "Sordil, I really have a solution, I'm not lying to you!"

Although Old Suo wanted to stop his wife from promoting this extremely dangerous magic, the battle reports in his hands prevented him from speaking up. Therefore, he could only settle for second best and hope to stop his wife from jumping into this fire pit.

"Irene, listen to me, that magic can only be given to someone who is absolutely loyal, and you yourself must never use that magic!"

Looking at the excited Sordil, Irene asked in surprise, "Why can't I use it myself? Why?"

"Because that magic has extremely strong side effects. The Dragon Force will not only make the user feel dizzy and nauseous, but it will also devour the user, turning them into a giant dragon from which they can never recover!"

Upon hearing the words "Dragon Force," Irene stared at Sordil in astonishment, her voice trembling as she said, "You... how could you..."

"Irene, I actually knew that method a long time ago, I just never said it!"

"Why? Why won't you reveal this method? If we had adopted this method sooner, the Evil Dragon of the Western Continent would have been driven out of Ishgar long ago, and we wouldn't have lost so many soldiers!"

Sordil pulled Irene into the conference hall, pressed her into a chair, and handed her a cup of hot water. After she calmed down, Sordil spoke, "Irene, things aren't as simple as you think. Dragon Slayer Magic is a double-edged sword. While it harms the Evil Dragon of the Western Continent, it can also bring annihilation to dragons like me and the Sage Dragon. That's why I didn't want to make it public."

"How is this possible? How could Dragon Slayer Magic pose a danger to you and Sage Dragon dragons who are close to humans?"

"Irene, humans are a very special kind of creature. When they have no power, they will choose to attach themselves to powerful creatures that are friendly to them. But once they have power that surpasses that of the creatures they have attached themselves to, they will regard their previous behavior as shameful. And there is only one way to resolve this shame: to make them disappear from this world completely and let them be buried in history."

"No! Impossible! I don't believe it!"

"Irene, this is the truth, and you have to accept it!"

"Sordil, this isn't real, humans aren't like that!"

Seeing Her Majesty the Queen streaked with tears and shaking her head, Old Suo felt as if his heart was being torn apart. But he had to tell her this fact, because it concerned the future course of the situation and determined the fate of the dragon race.

"Once the war ends, it won't just be the dragons that will be wiped out, but also the humans who have been completely transformed into dragons by the Dragon Slayer Magic. They will be labeled as outcasts and become targets of attack by others. That's why I don't agree with your use of Dragon Slayer Magic."

"And what about you? What about Sage Dragon? What about everyone else? Do you expect me to just stand by and watch you all..."

At this point, Irene could no longer utter a single word; only a soft sob escaped from the corner of her mouth.

He reached out and pulled Irene into his arms, gently patting her back. Old Suo said softly, "Silly girl! Ishgar so big, we can just find somewhere to hide and everything will be fine, right? What's there to worry about!"

"Then what am I supposed to do? Don't you want me anymore?" (I feel like I wrote Hua Mulan as Lin Daiyu, sigh! Experts, please be merciless in your criticism!)

"Look! If you had listened to me and canceled the engagement, you wouldn't be in this mess."

"Get lost! You bad guy!"

He pinched Irene's rosy cheeks, which had stopped crying and started to smile, and then said in Sordil deep voice, "Alright, stop fooling around! Let's hurry up and select personnel to form the Dragon Slayer Mage Corps!"

"Um!"

Irene nodded obediently, indicating that she remembered her husband's instructions, but she seemed to have other plans in mind.
