| First Appearance | Mentioned and explained in 204 |
Developmental Stages
| Stage | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Gestation | 204 278 | A special lifeform conceived by absorbing interstellar energy; initially manifests as a hidden mass of energy. |
| Late gestation | 369 371 | The Lin'an specimen grew rapidly, developed preliminary consciousness, and could passively attack with sound waves before birth. |
| Mother-pod stage | 385 | Its sealed pod offers powerful protection; attacking it prematurely risks accelerating its emergence. |
| Mature form | 386 | The Lin'an specimen emerged as a colossal, tentacled creature with overwhelming energy-based attacks. |
| Transformation stage | 387 | A mature Super Star Beast can accumulate energy to imitate any creature it has seen, making detection nearly meaningless once this stage is reached. |
Nature and Threat
- Super Star Beasts are believed to be gestated by the universe itself, with no biological parents; many beings call them the “children of the universe.” 204
- Their appearance is random and can occur in any plane containing sufficient energy. 280
- They absorb interstellar energy during gestation, thinning the surrounding dimensional energy and weakening humanity’s cultivation environment. 276
- Upon emergence, they can infuse energy into ordinary Star Beasts, dramatically increasing those beasts’ strength. 276 278
- Their objective is not merely territorial conquest: historical accounts describe them pursuing humanity’s complete extinction. 278
- A Super Star Beast is considered an enemy normally suited to a Level 4 civilization; even a Level 3 civilization has only limited capacity to resist one. 280 371
Appearance
Before birth, the Lin'an specimen appeared as a growing white mass concealed behind a membrane-like wall in a womb-like cavern. It was connected to a placenta-like structure and produced visible pulsations beneath its amniotic membrane. 359 372
After emerging, it possessed an enormous boneless body nearly a kilometer in size. 386
- Hundreds of massive tentacles capable of striking across great distances 386 387
- Countless vertical pupils covering its body 386
- A limp, featureless head capable of tracking fleeing Mech Warriors 386
- An enormous energy presence detectable across several kilometers even before birth 383
Abilities & Skills
Energy Absorption and Empowerment
A Super Star Beast continuously consumes interstellar energy during its growth, reducing the energy available to other lifeforms while strengthening itself and its forces. 276
- Infuses energy into Star Beasts after emerging, causing a widespread surge in their strength 276 278
- Recovers lost vitality rapidly; the Lin'an specimen recovered approximately 10% of its health per hour during the operation 389
- Requires energy accumulation between maturity and transformation, limiting how often it uses major energy attacks during that period 387
Star Beast Command
Super Star Beasts can unite otherwise scattered Star Beasts into a coordinated army. 204
- Creates an Interstellar Beast Tide once it emerges 336
- Uses sonic waves to summon Star Beasts across its range 387 388
- Directs high-level Star Beasts to protect strategically important targets, including the Lin'an detonators 389 390
- Its sonic waves had to be contained by layered protective shields and dedicated sonar devices to prevent a wider Star Beast response 388
Energy-Based Combat
Even a weakened mature Super Star Beast possesses enough force to overwhelm elite Mech Warriors. 386 387
- Generates massive Energy Tornado Waves that force Mech formations into retreat 386
- Creates smaller, faster energy vortices that pursue and disintegrate individual targets 387
- Uses tentacles to strike at extreme range and propel energy attacks 387
- Emits piercing sonic attacks capable of influencing and commanding Star Beasts 387
- Retains extraordinary durability; the Alliance’s initial strikes reduced the Lin'an specimen’s energy by roughly half but did not kill it 386
Intelligence and Deception
Super Star Beasts possess intelligence far beyond ordinary Star Beasts and are capable of long-term planning. 371
- Can recognize human strategies and stall for time while recovering energy 390
- Uses Star Beast forces as a defensive network rather than personally responding to every threat 390
- May imitate any creature it has observed after entering its transformation stage 387
- One mature specimen impersonated Mrs. Newman, remaining among human survivors until Zhou Yi exposed it. 286
- Its arrogance can be exploited: Zhou Yi deceived the disguised specimen into entering a passage leading to a spatially frozen rift. 286
Known History
Destruction of a Level 3 Plane
A Level 3 civilization detected a gestating Super Star Beast one hundred years before Zhou Yi’s expedition arrived there. Despite decades of delaying measures, the beast emerged fifty years later and led empowered Star Beasts in coordinated attacks on human settlements. 278
Within five years of its emergence, the plane’s Federation had disintegrated. After ten years, those able to flee evacuated to other planes, while the remaining population hid among the ruins. Fifty-two years later, humans had become almost extinct there. 278
The Fake Mrs. Newman Incident
During the expedition’s escape from the ruined plane, Zhou Yi identified that the real Mrs. Newman had died and that the woman accompanying the survivors was a Super Star Beast in disguise. 286
Zhou Yi used a Flowing Light Pearl to create a false exit, tricking the creature into entering the actual passage to a spatially frozen rift rather than allowing it to reach her plane. 286
Discovery Near Lin'an City
The Alliance located probable Super Star Beast activity near the Barren Star Cluster, though it initially lacked the exact coordinates. 336
Laibao’s ability to sense large living energy bodies aided the search, while Fan Cheng'an’s Spirit Beast, Meng Ying, had predicted a catastrophe approaching Lin'an City. 349 350
Zhou Yi eventually discovered a giant white gestation mass inside a cave. Researchers later confirmed that it was an unborn Super Star Beast. 359 369
Lin'an Star Block Operation
Newman estimated that the Lin'an specimen would emerge within one to two weeks if left undisturbed, but any external attack could hasten the process. 371
The Alliance’s baiting mission used Qiao'er’s exceptional attraction to Star Beasts to draw the juvenile form out of its protective pod. The plan exposed the creature but also accelerated its birth. 384 385
The fully emerged Super Star Beast survived particle-bomb attacks and inflicted severe losses on the Alliance’s frontline Mech Warriors. 385 386 387
Zhou Yi activated the Absolute Domain to reach the S1 detonator. Its shielding function allowed her to pass through Star Beast forces without being immediately targeted. 392
The successful detonation of the bomb network devastated the Lin'an Star Block, reduced the Super Star Beast’s remaining life force to zero, and killed it before it could unleash a full Interstellar Beast Tide. 393
Countermeasures
| Countermeasure | Effectiveness and Limitations |
|---|---|
| Early detection | Finding a Super Star Beast before emergence is humanity’s best opportunity; the Alliance estimated an 80% chance of success if its exact location could be identified in time. 336 |
| Mother-pod exposure | The pod is difficult to penetrate directly, but luring the juvenile form out makes it vulnerable; this also accelerates emergence. 385 |
| Sonic-wave containment | Protective shields and sonar devices can prevent its summoning signals from spreading beyond the battlefield. 388 |
| Absolute Domain | Zhou Yi’s protective Star Artifact could withstand at least three Super Star Beast attacks after further fusion with rare materials. 380 |
| Particle-bomb network | The Lin'an operation used buried high-energy particle bombs across the Star Block; the coordinated detonation ultimately destroyed the mature specimen. 382 393 |
