Zhou Ming prepared the Jie Sect and the Human Clan for the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation as the Saints contended over its destined figure. The volume ended with Shen Gongbao named as that figure, Jiang Ziya training, and Zhou Ming planning to preserve Buzhou Mountain and the Pangu Realm.

  • Xuanyuan defeated Chi You and spread the Immortal Scripture, while Zhou Ming proclaimed his Merit and Zhuanxu’s succession.

Arc 13Yaoji’s Mortal Marriage

Xuanyuan completed his reign and Zhuanxu succeeded him as Human Emperor, while Zhou Ming restored former rivals and prepared for the coming tribulation. Zhunti’s scheme drew Yaoji into a mortal marriage, and Haotian’s attempt to handle the scandal privately brought Yuanshi Tianzun’s challenge.

  • Xuanyuan captured Chi You, beheaded him with the Human Emperor Sword, and unified the Human Clan, but his battle karma obstructed his Merit until he spread the Immortal Scripture.
  • Zhou Ming proclaimed Xuanyuan’s Merit and Zhuanxu’s succession, established the Human Dao, and ended Chi You’s suppression.
  • Zhou Ming helped Ao Hai and the West Queen Mother reshape their Dao, then awakened Di Jun, Taiyi, Xi He, the Demon Saints, East King Duke, and Candle Dragon.
  • Zhou Ming settled the revived leaders near Buzhou Mountain and went to Golden Ao Island to exchange Dao insights with Tongtian and preach to the Jie Sect disciples.

Arc 14The Investiture Takes Shape

Yaoji’s family survived the Heavenly Court’s punishments and won a path to her release through Merit. As Haotian sought support from Hongjun, the Saints disputed who would fill the Investiture of the Gods, leaving the coming tribulation unresolved.

  • Haotian ordered Yang Tianyou and Yaoji’s children executed, but Fuxi saved the children and brought them to Huoyun Cave after Yang Tianyou died.
  • The Human Clan’s ancestors took Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan as disciples, while Yaoji was sentenced to be suppressed beneath Peach Mountain.
  • Yang Jian freed Yaoji, but Taibai Jinxing recaptured her and her children before Nuwa and Houtu secured a compromise that confined Yaoji and required her children to earn Merit for her release.
  • Haotian sought Hongjun’s help in assigning Chan Sect disciples to Heavenly Court posts, and Hongjun agreed while ending his personal support for Haotian.
  • Zhou Ming developed his newborn world, reunited Di Jun and Xi He with their nine sons, and set terms for Wangshu’s eventual revival.

Arc 15The Tribulation Takes Shape

Zhou Ming warned Tongtian and the Human Clan about the coming Tribulation as the Saints prepared their disciples to compete for the Person destined for the Tribulation. Wangshu regained her body, and the Chan and Jie Sects began searching for the prophesied figure.

  • Tongtian visited Zhou Ming for advice, and Zhou Ming warned that the Tribulation would endanger the Jie Sect and urged him to let disciples choose whether to enter the Investiture of the Gods.
  • Tongtian told his disciples they could enter the list or fight beside him, and Bixiao, Zhao Gongming, and the others pledged to face the Tribulation with him.
  • Wu persuaded the Human Clan Forefathers that their people would be drawn into the conflict, then proposed reincarnating as a Human Emperor and involving Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan.
  • Hongjun ruled that the Three Pure Ones would face the Tribulation without signing the Investiture of the Gods, and revealed that the destined person would be born ten thousand years later under a flying-bear sign.

Arc 16The Tribulation’s Chosen

Wu reincarnated as the future Human Emperor while Zhou Ming helped Tongtian prepare the Jie Sect for the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation. As the Saints’ conflict took shape, Zhou Ming planned to preserve Buzhou Mountain and build a refuge for Pangu’s Will, while Jiang Ziya and Shen Gongbao began their separate preparations.

  • Wu left Huoyun Cave, reincarnated through the Humanity Dao passage, and had his traces concealed by Empress Pingxin.
  • Zhou Ming brought Tongtian to Jiang Ziya, but Hongjun declared Shen Gongbao the true Person destined for the Tribulation and gave Primordial Lord Tianzun the Investiture of the Gods and the God-Beating Whip.
  • Tongtian sought Zhou Ming’s counsel, and Zhou Ming promised the Wu Clan would keep Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao out of the conflict while urging Tongtian to draw the Chan Sect into it.
  • Zhou Ming explained that the Tribulation would exhaust the Three Pure Ones’ remaining merit and threaten the Primordial Wilderness, so he resolved to preserve Buzhou Mountain and turn the continent’s fragments into the Pangu Realm.
  • Tongtian sent Jiang Ziya to learn governance and military affairs under Wen Zhong, then brought him back to Golden Ao Island to cultivate.
  • Shen Gongbao demanded instruction from Immortal Weng of the South Pole and received two cultivation techniques, while True Person Taiyi carried Spirit Pearl to Chentang Pass to be born as Lady Yin’s child.
  • Di Yi named Zi Shou his successor and asked why he had personally raised him since childhood.
