Nature and Composition

Chakra is refined from an even mixture of spiritual energy and physical energy. Stamina contains the same two components but is not considered Chakra because it has not undergone refinement. 39

When Chakra is fused one-to-one with natural energy, it becomes Sage Art Chakra. Mental energy, life energy, and natural energy can also function separately rather than only as components of Chakra. 107

Aizen describes Chakra as an energy that responds to individual will and can continually change toward the state envisioned by its user. He also characterizes it as energy drawn from planets and life itself. 172

Origin Hypothesis

Aizen considers Chakra’s origin unresolved. He notes that historical records do not document its development by Kaguya or the Sage of Six Paths, leading him to treat it as potentially foreign to the Ninja World. 39
