After talking in the tree, Xue Fanhui and Xi Xiu quietly returned to their rooms without Robot 08 noticing.

After bidding each other goodnight, both girls were already exhausted and quickly fell asleep.

Before the sun had risen the next day, Xi Xiu got out of bed and began another day of training and study.

Xue Fanhui had chosen different courses from hers and had added Intermediate Mechanical Principles. They only arranged to meet during physical training.

Vivian regularly sent updates on Xi Xiu to Wei Lanshan, who had already set off for the Alliance. There were photos, scenes of Xi Xiu playing with the other children, and mostly Xi Xiu's happy, smiling face.

Wei Lanshan, already aboard the Starship, smiled softly when she received them. What a strong little girl.

Wei Lanshan looked forward to the day she and Xi Xiu would meet again, and in her heart, she gave Xi Xiu her greatest blessings.

The wilderness camping trip arrived as scheduled. Xi Xiu brought her Space Locket, which held some snacks Feihua Group had given her before. The food here had a long shelf life, and considering what Xue Fanhui had said before, she also brought the weapons she normally used.

She chose the same long saber as Wei Lanshan's. Feng Shanshan had given it to her while she was at Feihua Group, and it was said to be one of Feng Shanshan's proudest creations.

The moment Xi Xiu opened her door, Xue Fanhui was already ready as well.

Over the past six months, Xi Xiu had grown much taller. Combined with her training, her body looked much sturdier too.

Other than Director Vivian, there were four support staff members in their section of the Orphanage, with every two people responsible for one building.

The two assigned to Xi Xiu's building were named Shally and Corinne, both women.

So all the staff here were women as well. Shally was a very gentle woman, responsible for arranging their daily lives—such as purchasing Nutrient Paste and deciding what foods to use at each stage.

Corinne, on the other hand, was responsible for their safety. The robots handled the children's daily care and monitored their time on the Star Net and their studies. Since they lacked emotional modules, they could do things many humans could not bear to do.

When Xi Xiu and Xue Fanhui arrived, only a few people were there.

Shally treated both Xi Xiu and Xue Fanhui very well because these two girls gave her the least trouble. They were not picky eaters, did not cry or make a fuss, and did exceptionally well in their studies.

"Xi Xiu, Fanhui, wait a little while for the others. Later, make sure to stay close to me, understand?"

"Okay, Shally," Xi Xiu and Xue Fanhui answered in unison.

The two then stood off to one side, both lost in thought. Xi Xiu looked up at the sky. The sun was about to rise. This was her first time going out since coming here, and she felt a little excited.

Xue Fanhui, meanwhile, was planning what to do if they ran into those girls again. This time, she had decided not to endure it. She would just fight! It would be a perfect chance to test the results of this year's training.

Once all the children had gathered, Vivian had them line up and board the vehicle one by one.

The driving robot was highly skilled, and the Hovercar smoothly ascended onto the Sky Rail.

This was the second time Xi Xiu had looked down upon the planet from high above, and she was still captivated by its beauty.

Sitting beside Xue Fanhui, she took in the scenery of the planet before her.

Xue Fanhui spoke to her from beside her. "Xi Xiu, if we run into them again later, watch for my hand signals."

Xi Xiu looked at Xue Fanhui's suddenly serious face. Was she planning to fight and wash away her previous humiliation?

But clearly, the children in the vehicle all knew Ye Zhenwei.

Ye Zhenwei had become famous earlier because several major families had jointly held a welcome banquet for her. There had been a live broadcast on the Star Net at the time, and now no one in the Alliance failed to recognize Ye Zhenwei.

This news report showed her taking part in an Alliance competition.

Every Alliance year—roughly two years in other star systems—the Alliance held a competition. Those who participated were children under sixteen with physical ability of at least 4A and Mental Power of at least 2S.

Citizens under sixteen from all twenty star systems of the Alliance who met those requirements could register to participate. Those who achieved good results would receive additional contribution points from the Central Brain, while military academies would take notice of their abilities in advance and focus on training them after enrollment.

Talent was predetermined, and so was the path one had to take. With a shortcut available, who would not want it?

That was why this competition was so popular. With Ye Zhenwei's talent, she should not have needed to participate in a competition like this.

With her talent, she could have entered an elite class directly after enrolling in a military academy and been trained to become the commander of a legion in the future.

Xi Xiu did not understand why the Ye Family was being so high-profile. Before someone had fully grown, should they not keep a low profile, silent and unseen?

That was the way of survival Wei Lanshan had taught her. Xi Xiu understood even more clearly that the tallest tree in the forest would be the first to be struck by the wind. Xue Fanhui sighed from the side. "Xi Xiu, she's incredible. I really hope I can have strength like hers someday."

The initial rank measured after birth could be raised through later effort, but once someone reached 3S, no one in the Alliance had yet succeeded in advancing further.

Xi Xiu gave a very fair assessment as well. "She really is amazing. Fanhui, if you want to grow stronger, you have to work hard. Keep it up. One day, you'll shine as brilliantly as that pretty young lady on Star Net."

"Hehe, okay. Xi Xiu, we both have to work hard. We'll meet on Capital Star then."

Following the normal timeline, Xue Fanhui would go to Capital Star a year before Xi Xiu.

Xue Fanhui's physical fitness was currently 4A, and her Mental Power was 2S. Her talent was considered the best at the Ningkui Star Orphanage. She was simply still young and lacked real combat experience, which was why she had been bullied by children several years older than her when she first arrived.

Xi Xiu fell silent. Luckily, she did not resemble the Ye Family. Otherwise, with Ye Zhenwei appearing in public so frequently, her life might not have been safe.

Even Vivian would probably have begun to suspect her origins. She let out a long breath inwardly.
