Nature and Formation
A Weird Realm forms where another world intersects, fuses, or collides with the human world. These distortions allow Evil Spirits and foreign power to enter while resisting the World's efforts to repair the damaged space. 117 138 352
Evil Spirits use Weird Realms as invasion footholds. The more territory and Evil Spirit Qi they control within a realm, the more difficult it becomes for the World's Will to aid human defenders. 392 415
Internal Mechanics
Environmental Advantage
- Evil Spirits are greatly strengthened inside a Weird Realm; a White Wanderer-level Evil Spirit within one can rival a Black Coffin-level threat outside. 93
- Sunlight is absent and natural Spiritual Energy is polluted, weakening human recovery methods and preventing normal cultivation. 369
- Evil Spirits can continually enter from the connected world, making attrition battles especially dangerous for human forces with limited Vitality. 365
- A realm normally has a single entrance through which Evil Spirits from the opposing world are restricted by the realm's level; higher-ranked human experts can still enter, though doing so may destabilize or enlarge the realm. 399 436
Fulcrums and Support Points
Weird Realms are sustained by Evil Spirit anchors—also called support points, pivots, or fulcrums—that resist the World's repair of the spatial distortion. Destroying a support point weakens the Evil Spirits within the realm. 138
- A known realm beneath Longhorn Village had three support points, including a central point defended by Tusk General. 138
- Some cores are physical structures, such as the Totem Pillar destroyed by Lu Chen from within a spatial gap. 211
- Other realms are governed by unusual focal entities, including an ink-wash painting that controlled the Heavenly Martial City realm's environmental attacks. 461 462
- The Barbarian method of clearing a realm is simply to eliminate every Evil Spirit inside; this is effective but inefficient when the fulcrums cannot be located. 138
Collapse and Rewards
When a Weird Realm is fully cleared, it collapses and the World grants a Heaven and Earth Reward to the participants. The reward can include a Heaven and Earth Baptism, Experience Points, Spiritual Energy, and Luck; greater contributors receive greater benefits. 154 155 421
A realm can also be “broken” by the Evil Spirits instead. In that case, Evil Spirit fog and foreign entities spill into the human world, allowing Evil Spirits to persist more freely—even during the day. 364 365
Related Realm Types
Maze Realm
A Maze Realm is not a true Weird Realm, but an Evil Spirit Domain formed when a powerful creature's aura alters its surroundings. These Domains commonly possess spatial effects that trap, misdirect, and disorient intruders. 117 118
- They may be detected by Weird Realm detection talismans. 118
- Lu Chen's group encountered a Jungle Maze Realm that repeatedly led them past the same Teng Tree. 117
- The Jungle Maze Realm contained alternate-dimensional spaces, Ghost Children, and the Bewitching Willow at its core. 127
Medium Weird Realms
Medium Weird Realms are major battlefields capable of tying down large human forces. Evil Spirit Qi can expend immense power to send Legendary-level threats into them, particularly when targeting dangerous human champions. 460 471 527
The Weird Realm near Heavenly Martial City was an especially anomalous Medium Weird Realm. Its first human expedition suffered unexplained deaths, natural disasters, disorientation, and near-total annihilation before the realm was sealed from outside. 460
Merged and Escalated Realms
Weird Realms can merge with other structures or become enlarged through outside pressure. An Ancient Castle merging into a Weird Realm caused a massive influx of Evil Spirits, while a fusion event later enabled three God avatars to descend into a single realm. 370 436
Countermeasures
- Detection and reconnaissance — Burning talisman paper can indicate a realm entrance, while Yun Zhou forces maintain strategic maps of human- and Evil Spirit-controlled territory. 116 392
- Fulcrum destruction — Removing support points weakens the realm's defenders and permits the World's repair to advance. 138
- Garrisons and Totem Pillars — Human troops, fortresses, formations, and Totem Pillars are used to contain realms and prevent Evil Spirit fog from spreading. 370 392
- Sun Power — Light and Sun Power can purge Evil Spirit Qi; Lu Chen used the power of nine Suns to cleanse the Heavenly Martial City realm before it shattered. 469
- Avoiding repeated incursions — Evil Spirit Qi can mark powerful individuals who clear a realm, then sacrifice greater resources to kill them during later incursions. 460 471

Trivia
- Weird Realms are compared to a disease or boil in the World's body: clearing one removes a source of corruption, while an Evil Spirit victory lets the contamination spread inward. 154 364
- The formation of enough broken Weird Realms could link their fog together, blot out the Sun, and end the relative safety of daytime. 341 365
- Continuous destruction of Weird Realms earned Lu Chen the World-recognized title of Child of Luck. 520
